This is the best Chinese buffet in our area. We go here weekly and it's great. It's got a really good sized buffet with loads of selections. My only complaint is that they removed the sushi off the bar and a few other things. They did this around covid and it sucks. It seems like Chinese buffets around here keep closing and I want this place to stay open because there's not many left. The owners are really nice too. The parking lot needs a lot of work though and is something they need to work on. There are massive pot holes everywhere. Other than that I've never had any issues with this place. read more

I was in for Mother's Day and Mom decided on Super China Buffet. Plenty of parking in the lot and area. This is my second visit here and this is a Chinese buffet so that is the foundation of the expectations and experience. That in mind, the visit was perfect and so happy we ate here. We went around 1:45pm on a Saturday and the place was packed the entire time we were there. Extremely busy and they kept the buffet stocked. Amazing variety of Chinese food options. I don't think I have ever seen a buffet as large as this one before with 6 food buffet tables, + one dessert, + that soft serve machine. Something for everyone. Run down building. Food was cold or old or both. There were 9 of us in our party. Service was good but food quality was poor. Chicken wings and chicken on a stick were dried out. Perhaps some dishes had been reheated from previous days. I don't understand how food on a steam table was cold unless they weren't properly working. Brings me to worry about food safety. This place has become so horrible. It's food is so old that it should be shut down. I tried to order chicken fried rice thinking they'd make it to order but no, they gave me the old rice from the buffet, which is NOT chicken. The meat is under a heat lamp until it is almost like dried jerky. Literally everything is so old. They put week old buffet food back on the buffet and it's obvious. A shame because I really like the wait staff, it's obviously not their fault. Used to love this place and cone here a lot. The only thing worth coming for was the crab legs and they even switched those out with soft shell battered crabs that literally not one single person can eat because...shells are definitely not soft. Its appalling. I don't like making bad reviews but I feel like I've been scammed everytime I eat here. While visiting Ashland, KY., we found this place. We were worried that it would be like the bland, sickeningly sweet Chinese food in the Portsmouth area, but we were pleasantly surprised. The buffet is large, well maintained and the food was fresh and well seasoned. Our server was efficient in keeping drinks refilled and clearing plates; however she never one time smiled. We will definitely road trip to Ashland to get our Chinese buffet fix. By the way, the bathrooms were clean. read more

Absolutly the best Chinese buffet in the tri-state area hands down. They offer over 50 different menu items on four large buffet stations. All of the food is wonderful! They also have ice cream and a large dessert section. The price is the same here as s it is at the mediocre places on thr area. read more

I've eaten here several times over the years. I've always enjoyed the food. I just ate there this evening and it was very good. Last time they would not turn the air conditioning on and it was miserable. My boss ate there the other day and said the same thing. Food is over cooked and then dried out even more on the buffet. My last visit was this week. There was a mouse running all around and all they did was chase it into the plants by the entrance so no one would see it. Oh yeah, and our visit before the last one, they tried to say we hadn't paid. My son paid and then he and I went out to the car. My teenager daughter and my mother were still inside. They went to leave and several employees blocked them and kept saying that we didn't pay. One of them kept telling my daughter to give her her iPhone! They seriously demanded my daughters phone for payment. She pushed past them and came out and got me. By the time I went in the woman who ran my card was telling the others that we did pay. Good variety, decent prices. Sometimes slow to refill sodas, even when it's not that packed. Nice variety of sushi, which I like. There's a lot to choose from, more than most Chinese restaurants in my area. The best part is the soft serve ice cream I always get before I leave. It's the best around. You can get takeout, and they don't weigh the box like most. You pay one price, and stuff it full. It really is the better one in the tri-state area. The biggest issues are rude wait staff and absolutely disgusting restrooms. When staff is ready for you to be done, they notoriously deliver check and never return. Were also rude when my wife asked for California Roll sushi ("There's enough other sushi out there. We are NOT making more.") when the California Roll was out. Cleanliness leaves MUCH to be desired. And after 2 plates they bring the check and expect you to pay just so they can get you to leave! Let me start off by saying I love Chinese food. Super China Buffet, in Ashland Ky., has really good food. My visit started with the manager asking me my age, after I inquired if they had a senior discount and at what age it was honored. I stupidly answered, being surprised by his question. He seemed put out that my response entitled me to the discount, (yippie, what do I get, a free drink or maybe a slight discount?) Anyway, my problem started there and continued with service. The staff routinely spoke in a foreign languuage, I assume it was Chinese, across the restaurant in loud voices. In my opinion the only reason to do this is to prevent others from understanding your comments. I think this behavior is rude. The waitress we had was obviously not enjoying being around other people. She barely looked at us and tossed our check onto the table and disappeared. I would give it a better rating from past personal experience but just today i went and got wonton soup in large for 2.10 and i get jumped on for putting more then half of the wontons in my bowl to go and if i was gonna put that much in he was gonna have to charge me second time. I get that it's right before dinner but if your gonna have the person that paid for it do it themselves you can't have a limit to how much can be put in the bowl unless you want or dont care about getting a bad rep., if your gonna do that then you need to have the customer sit down in front while one of the workers fixs your order for you. It's not like the wonton runs out quicky unless your getting two bowls to go since they make so little, they didnt have to jump on me about it cause they can always make more. Ok,First of all..I understand this is a chinese restaurant and the employees are indeed Chinese..But if i call to place an order i think someone who can understand me and vise versa should be on the other end..I had barely any idea what dude was saying and he could not understand my english..Anyway..We finally got our order in without any totals or a time to pick it up..When we did go pick it up,And arrive back home We noticed we were missing an order of our spring rolls..Called back to explain and speak with a manager..We then heard the Manager tell the dude on the phone to see what we wanted..First of all,We wanted to speak to a manager..Anyway we explained out issue..He still could not understand what we meant..So we really have no idea if the situation was handles or not..We THINK..He said we could get another order at a different time ..But he very well could have said something completely different..Then we set down to try to enjoy this not so lovely evening(Do 2 the not so well spoken chinese man who didn't understand a damn thing we were saying)Only to find out that our vegetable fried rice was actually pork fried rice..Good thing we noticed or we could very well be dead at the moment due to the fact of severe allergies to pork..We never called back,What was the point..REALLY..So to make a long story exactly the length that it should b..I will continue..As i opened my what was supposed to be Chicken and scallops with Garlic sauce..I blatantly stared down at this dish with awe..I could not,For the life of me..Figure out what the damn shit was..Im like really..Ok As i tasted this grotesque matter i got sick and that was it..Good thing that came out of this whole night is that possible the chinese man not only ruined my night but could have possibly saved my life..I think i had accidently ate some pork..So if u value your life and work hard for your money Please i beg u..Do not eat at the SUPER CHINESE BUFFET IN ASHLAND KY..it isnt SUPER at all;( read more
