I'll be honest: I had very low expectations for this hotel, but it was the only thing available so we took it. I was more than pleased; for a Super 8, it's really good! The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. Noise wasn't too bad; the other guests, by and large, are truckers getting rest for the night. The complementary breakfast wasn't great, but again it's the best I've seen in a budget hotel. There's not much in the area, but there is a pizza place next door and a McDonalds across the street. The biggest negative is the water is tinged brown, but I don't think that's the fault of the hotel. Seems to be common in this area. read more

There aren't many options when you're tired and need a room in Dwight, Illinois. The lobby smelled pretty bad but I thought it might just be food that the clerk was heating up. In the morning that cooked food smell was still there. It's a very strong smell and not one I would call "good". We were given a room in the back and the rear entry door was broken so anyone could get in the hotel without a key. The hallway smelled terrible. It smelled like maybe a toilet backed up in a room. Our room was thankfully clean but it was very cold and took almost an hour to warm up. We set the temp at 72 and the heater didn't turn off the whole time we were there. THIS HOTEL IS LOUD! It sounded like people running and jumping in the room above ours. It started at about 9:00 PM and went until midnight. Started again at 6 AM. not to be outdone, people on our floor ran down the halls yelling and speaking loudly. The hotel is definitely budget but I've paid the same price in other places for much cleaner and nicer. The vibe of this hotel is that nobody cares because it's right off the highway and they'll always get some poor, tired sucker who can't go any farther... like me. read more

We stopped on the way home from Chicago. The motel itself was very clean and nice looking. Rooms were clean and dark which is good. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. We got there in the AM so we didn't eat the breakfast but it looked decent enough. They had Semi parking which is a plus. Checkout was fast and easy. If we ever pass this way again we will stay here read more

The price is good the bed is harder then I like. I found tobacco under the Sheets when I folded them back. Other then that it's ok.

Convenient and clean. Appears hotel manager and family live on site near the front desk. Not a problem for me. Location is past a couple of truck stops, a McDonald's, the Coitry Inn and the backside of small set of storefronts that includes aslot machine arcaid. Room was clean, fresh, and plain. Small tv with lomoted cable options. Pillows were soft but not so much for the mattress. I slept on top of the sheets of one bed and grabbed blankets off the nearby queen for covers. Breakfast was free but simple. Cereal, toaster waffles, and white bread was set out. Juice and coffee too. I opted for the truckstop. Priced right for the amenities. Have you ever walked into a hotel room with a really stale smell? Well, if you have not, you will here. The room smelled terrible and transfers to you and everything you brought along. The sheets and comforter also smell badly. One of my coworkers found beer bottles lining the window sill inside his room. Do they even clean the rooms!?! The air conditioner is extremely loud. I was starting to wonder if an elephant was in the room above me since I could hear every single step they took. The walls seemed to be good as I could not hear the rooms next door. I had to laugh at their billing system. They wrote on carbon copy paper and gave you one of them. I thought was had gone back in time. Very Very clean place. Very friendly staff and not a bad value for today's market on a budget friendly hotel. Basic breakfast. Cheap towels,but they work. Maid service was friendly. McDonald's next door. Small tv but clear. They do have Showtime,ESPN s and about 15 other cable channels...Mini Fridge and Microwave. All in all,not a bad place. It is a dry county,but a mile down the road you can get what you need. I would return if in the area. Quiet place and a decent bed are the stars here. read more

Well it's not the Marriott.. hell, it's not even Holiday Inn quality, which holds a pretty low bar. But, it is seriously only one of two hotels in town and we had family to visit so.. here we were...at Super 8..not so Super, and not an 8 (on a scale of 1-10). On the surface, it appeared clean and fine.. the bed was comfy but, we quickly yanked the comforter off the bed because it had a stain on it that I wanted nowhere near me! It was a stain comparable to some chick getting some oral pleasure on top of that bed.Yeah, nice..I don't need to know what the previous guests did in detail..thanks. Then it was shower time.. I seriously wished I had brought flip flops to use in that shower because it felt slimy and dirty and I just knew I'd pick up a case of athlete's foot from this cesspool of a tub. I had to bring this to their attention...maybe their maid forgot to clean it? So I see the guy outside our room with the cleaning cart and I ask if I can use his AJAX and he says NO. I'm like, "well our tub is dirty and clearly no one here has time to clean it" -- he says he'll clean it -- I don't buy it. I tell the manager or front desk person that the tub is gross and he winces like "eek" -- says he'll make sure it gets cleaned. OK..whatever. We come back and it's still dirty and grimy so, we decide to wait till our next destination to take a shower and just skip the gross bullshit going on at the bottom of that tub. As we're leaving, some toothless woman running the front desk starts in on how people ALWAYS think their tubs are dirty but, they put a coating on it to ...? I don't know -- she lost me when she admitted that others think their tubs are dirty too. I feel vindicated in my complaint and we depart. Also, I get that they probably get some dirty-assed truckers that roll into town to utilize their facilities but, god damn put some bleach on those towels. Some of the wash clothes were seriously dark gray in color and it only raised more disturbing images of what possibly went on with those towels prior to landing in our room on our towel rack. We probably will have to stay in Dwight again someday and I'm sure we'll either select the other hotel option or seriously sleep on the family's floor before trying this place again...even though the bed was surprisingly comfy. read more

For the price it was okay, like it wasn't the holiday inn. Walked in the lobby and walked into the room and had stale nasty cigarettes smell. The book says if you had forgotten something toothbrush etc it's complimentary and I go to the front desk and get told nope it's a $2 for each item. My family and I were part of the evacuation plan in Morris Illinois for the fire they have. So this is the only place I could find under $100. They don't better cable. The beds weren't comfy. Like I had said it's not the holiday inn, don't ever stay here. read more

Booked online because it was a "pet friendly" hotel just to be told at check in they didn't have a room for us. He even suggested we leave our dogs in the car overnight. Now having to make other arrangements at midnight. 0 stars. read more

This place is absolute junk the fridges don't work the AC doesn't work none of the windows open it's like a jail cell they don't change the sheets bedbugs a lot a lot a lot of bedbugs I get bit every time I come here at least 10 bites and you can't understand because there's Indian that own the place. And our food was ruined and they won't give us a refund. read more

I don't stay at 8 very often but this one was really quite comfortable bed was really good clean rooms and staff was really helpful ! I drive tour buses and the had parking for me and the trailer. There it a lot next door for trucks but it's a out of business restaurant. read more

"Four stars for a Super 8?" I hear you ask. Well, let me set the scene for you, and it'll make sense: January 26, 2014. My new wife and I are driving to the Hilton Towers in downtown Chicago for our honeymoon, following my brother-in-law, who's driving back home in the Chicago metro. About 7, we hit a total white-out on I-55--I mean, visibility is down to just a few feet--and we have to stop. The in-laws call the Super 8 and get us two rooms, without them even taking a credit card. We finally pull in around 9:30. There's a line of people, but they've still held our rooms for us. My new wife and I, and my in-laws and their three little kids, didn't have to sleep in a booth in McDonald's. So, yeah, I'm a bit biased. That story aside... Look, it's a Super 8, not the Hilton Towers where we planned to spend the first night of the honeymoon. It's an inexpensive motel, and should be judged accordingly. On that note, the rooms all had microwaves and refrigerators (which the Hilton does not, by the way), so we were able to make a dinner out of the leftovers we brought from the wedding. Despite overnight temperatures reaching somewhere around -5, the heat worked so well I had to get up to turn it down in the middle of the night. We also had hot water, and a bathtub to soak in (again, something the Hilton doesn't have). There was a coffee maker in the room, and breakfast the next day--mostly cereal and donuts, but still. The staff was very friendly (including the poor overworked evening desk clerk, who probably expected one or two guests, not the motel full he got), and our room was clean. Don't go in expecting a five-star hotel, but for the price, and for what it is, it's a great place to stay. read more

It's a Super 8, so I wasn't expecting a lobby bar or anything but for under $70 I was pleasantly surprised to have a microwave and mini fridge in my room, in addition to the coffee maker and hairdryer. The people working here were very nice to us, even when my son spilled half of his bowl of Cheerios on our way back to our room from the continental breakfast...this was Cheerios, Frosted Flakes, instant oatmeal, toast, the little donuts that come in a bag at the grocery and juice, milk and coffee. I would definitely stay here again - it was clean, safe and while certainly not luxurious, comfortable. read more
