I can't recommend SUP Pups enough! I've now taken paddle boarding lessons twice, once with a friend, and most recently I had the pleasure of working with Sam to host a San Diego Labradors Meetup event. Sam is absolutely wonderful. She's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and has a natural ability to make both people and dogs feel comfortable and confident on the water. She created such a fun, welcoming environment, and everyone in our meetup had an amazing time. Whether you're brand new to paddle boarding with your dog or looking to build your skills, SUP Pups is an experience you won't regret. Thank you, Sam, for helping make our meetup such a success! We can't wait to come back for another adventure.
Best day EVER!!!!! My big boy Shadow and I got to have the best experience with Sam on a SUP Pups adventure. I had no previous experience on a board, but, Sam gave me a quick lesson on things and I left shore with confidence. We really had a great time and can't wait to go again! We had a wonderful experience taking a private stand up paddleboard lesson with our dogs. Sam is amazing, she was very kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient despite us running late to our appointment. We've paddleboarded with SUP Pups 3x because it's just that amazing. We actually did a holiday photoshoot this time around and I couldn't recommend it more. Sam is truly a gem, but more so she is an expert with the pups! She's great at building rapport with the doggies and making the sessions centered around their comfortability. For first time paddleboarders, don't worry, because you're in great hands. Sam is thorough in her instruction, patient, and kind. SUP Pups is truly an all around great experience!
Sam the owner is stellar. I had tried paddling with my pup once before but he wouldn't stay on the board once I started moving. Sam knew exactly what to do and it worked like a charm. Had a wonderful time. She has a wealth of knowledge about SUP. Definitely try it!

I 1000% recommend Sam and SUP Pups! I have been numerous times now, beginning with a Halloween fundraiser for a local rescue. I have since booked one of my dog's birthday parties (highly recommend!!!) and taken one of my other dogs out for the Thanksgiving and Santa events. Sam is a gem! She is kind, patient, knowledgable, and fun:) She also cares deeply about dogs and donates her time if you bring an adoptable dog to paddle board. Book your session today!!!
Was visiting SD for a week, saw their Instagram one day, was thinking about singing up, since I have never paddleboard before, then while visiting Liberty Station we saw Samantha's tent and someone who had just did a private lesson. Loved the vibes from them and the vibes from Samantha, signed up for a lesson the next day. Had such a great time and my little corgi, Echo did amazing!! Highly recommend! I felt safe, learned a lot, and had fun! It's also such a unique way to spend time with your dog and vacation!

I decided to take a lesson with Samantha and it was amazing! I was terrified for my puppy but Samantha provided so much reassurance. It was such a fun experience! We're coming back for another lesson and bringing our friend's dog too!

I could've sworn my dogs didn't like water, but after a few lessons each with SUP Pups, we're all hooked. My dogs both took to Sam immediately, even my reactive nervous pup. Sam is friendly & easy to vibe with, a great teacher for total newbies. She coaches humans & dogs the same, encouraging and upbeat without ever feeling awkward. She got my pups into the water on their first tries, and I found out I've had water dogs all this time. They had a blast swimming back & forth between my board & Sam's, and hanging out on the front of my board taking in our surroundings. Even with my reactive pup, we felt safe and confident and she looked happier than she's ever been. Sam helped us build a new layer of trust & confidence that I'm so excited to keep leaning into. Plus, the pictures she takes are epic! 100/10 recommend lessons with SUP Pups. read more
My pup and I had an amazing time at Sup Pups! I had passed by their tent many times and said to myself, when I get a dog I'm doing that. And I finally did. Not to mention being in the dog community, so many people have recommended them. First off, it's a great location in Liberty Station and parking was no problem. Bathrooms were easily accessible, either the park ones or the hotel ones. Second, Sam is amazing, you can really tell she loves her job and pups. She brings the energy and explains things very well. Turns out my dog loves paddle boarding and swimming and I also built my confidence in handling the board. We had such a fun time and I love that Sam started this business. Another plus is all the photos that are taken during the experience that are included with the lesson. I highly recommend and am looking forward to participating in some of their events! read more

I went paddleboarding today with my dog at SUP Pups--and we had the best time! I called early in the morning for a lesson, and Sam had amazing customer service--she got me set up for a class that same afternoon. She made the whole experience feel easy and fun. Sam gave me thorough details on where to park, what to bring, and what to expect (the customer service is outstanding). Honestly, she provides pretty much everything you need, so it's an stress-free time on the water. My dog loved it, and I felt totally safe and comfortable, even though it was my first time paddleboarding with my pup. If you're looking for dog-friendly paddleboarding in San Diego or a unique adventure with your dog, this is it! 10/10 recommend! read more

SUP Pups is so much fun!! My partner and I loved our lesson with Samantha, as newbies she made us feel super comfortable and was so helpful! We were nervous about how our anxious and sometimes reactive dog would do, but it was awesome how Samantha talked us through everything and was prepared to make it a good experience not only for us but also our pup. As an East Coast transplant with a fearful rescue dog I did not think paddle boarding was in our realm of possibility. However, upon reading the SUP PUPS FAQ page that encouraged bringing all kinds of pups we decided to take the leap. Check-in was smooth & easy and Sam was SO sweet as she put Lenox in his life vest which he wasn't a fan of. There were plenty of snack and water and a little fire pit for a post paddle boarding bonfire. When we got on the board Sam coached me (who hadn't been on a board in a while) and Lenox who was very fearful at first. We were out on the water for about an hour. This was such a lovely experience and I can't thank Sam enough for helping our fearful boy find his confidence. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Sam. She is professional and extremely knowledgeable. You will always be greeted with a smile and the security of knowing that you are in good hands. Her work ethic is commendable and she works tirelessly to ensure you and your pup have an amazing experience documenting every step in great photos. I am incredibly grateful to Samantha for an amazing day paddle boarding with my dog, Senna. It was an unforgettable experience, and I highly encourage anyone interested in bonding with their dog to sign up. It was so much fun! I learned to paddle board for the first time, and Senna did too. He did so well. Samantha was an excellent coach and instructor, always positive and personal. I can't rave enough about SUP Pups. What an amazing company! I look forward to Samantha expanding her horizons and hosting pop-up events near San Francisco. There is no other company like SUP Pups. It's seriously incredible. I wish there were more dog-friendly outdoor activities like this. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget. Every dog owner should try this, not just once, but many times. My first time with SUP Pups was their Bark, Boards, and Babes event and it was amazing! They provided a cute snack table for people and one for the dogs. We had an amazing day yesterday. Sam is a fantastic teacher and she taught my friend how to safely SUP with her large golden retriever and how to easily get him back on the board if he falls off or jumps off. Such a wonderful experience! I took two adoptable dogs in the past week, so this review covers both visits. The first trip was with Rocky, a beautiful 87-lb senior pup with limited mobility. He did amazing! The second trip was with Point Guard, a little Chihuahua who could run for miles but preferred to stay glued to my side. We went with a group of nine senior dogs, and everyone had a blast. Sam showed us how to get ourselves and the dogs on the boards safely and comfortably, respecting the dogs, how to paddle, and how to get ourselves out of some sticky situations, should they arise. What an experience! I had the pleasure of attending an International Women's Day event with SUP Pup, and it was everything I expected and more. Sam is very enthusiastic about paddle boarding and especially great helping out pups new to the sport. My dog was hesitant to get on the board at first but Sam has been doing this for a while and knew all of the right tricks to get her up on the board and out in the water without any issues! We had a great time and will be back for a future events and I can't wait to bring my friends and their fur babies! read more
