DO NOT EVER USE!!! Rented two bikes last Sunday from SUP & Saddle. 1st bike didn't even start. They changed bikes but inserted same battery from 1st bike. Battery died half way through the ride and got a flat tire. Called for help: Start the disgusting customer service - Xavier proved to be utterly incompetent, extremely rude and actually insulted me on the phone. Berated me for riding the bike down the strand (no where was it ever stated I couldn't), claimed the battery wouldn't last that long anyway and it was my fault for being "stupid" Meanwhile bike #2 was still fully charged after only 6 miles of riding. Threatened to charge me if I left their broken bike where was with absolutely no offer to help. Xavier then hung up on me after refusing to put me on the phone with a manager. I had to ride their broken bike back to the Hotel Del when someone else answered and finally came to pick me and the bike up. Worst experience ever and ruined the birthday celebration. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I booked a reservation a month prior, confirmed the day before but when we arrived they said we had missed our reservation time. We were able to kayak when we showed the confirmation email with the correct time. Rhey stated they would give us a safety briefing at the launch beach. They sent us down the street looking for the beach with kayaks past restaurants and other beaches. When we arrived at the beach, there was only one triple kayak but it was broken. They had to have another party if two return to the beach to swap for us to have their triple and finally place the party of two into a two person kayak. Then they just sent us out without instructions, safety briefing or any best directions. Our kayak's back rest broke as we were in the water. As we returned there were multiple people who had flipped over in the water. The staff had to go back to the shop to get anything to help them. Other random people in the water were trying to help the stranded people. Would not recommend this place unless you like broken equipment and useless staff. read more

The guy who works here is really nice. So good customer service. But the bike selection for kids is crap. If your 9-12 year old is used riding any bike at all, or I guess even if they aren't, then don't expect them to be stoked about the bike you rent for them. Maintenance of the bikes all across the board, not just kids, is questionable. Lots of squeaky parts. Brakes were tight but also wobbly break levers. Many of the helmets are kind of gross. Lots of the straps are sticky/oily and the straps need to be adjusted so much. Go to the other bike rental place in the same complex for a more professional operation. I will say, that it's probably cheaper than the other place. So if you're looking to save some money, there you go. read more

Wow! This was such a fun experience. I went in April with a few of my friends. I was glad I had a tandem kayak. It was a little windy the morning we went so it was nice to have a friend to share the paddling responsibilities with. Our rental was more than enough time to paddle down to the bridge and enjoy the SD skyline. Most of the boats were respectful. One of my friend's brought their dog and he had a great time on the water too! Parking wasn't too bad early in the morning before the sun came out, but get there early just in case. Be prepared to walk a bit from the shop to the beach. Know that you're out there on your own if you're just doing a rental. We felt comfortable the whole time, but I wouldn't recommend this spot if it's your first time ever kayaking- head to Mission Bay! Glad they had a large selection of bikes but disliked that they did not help pair us with the right bike. One for my son was too small so his knee hurt. On top of that the chair detached while we were on alameda. We took over 30 minutes trying to get the chain back in and then had to find a pump to pump the flat tires. when we shared this with the store they said ok, and thanks for letting us know. The staff was not apologetic. Bikes should be maintenance before being rented out. read more

I came across this place by purchasing their Double kayak package through Groupon. I was able to purchase and reserve using their code the same day. The process was easy. Once purchased and reservations were booked. Just go to the place , check in, sign a waiver, and you are given a life jacket and oar ... then directed to walk to the beach where you meet a staff member who gives you basic safety instructions and which area you are not allowed. Keep in my mind, that there are water crafts, military carriers, and harbor boats consistently moving in the water, be prepared for less than smooth water compared to a lake. I definitely had a blast and will come back again. Especially when taking out of town friends/family to experience San Diego! read more

No idea why this place has a rating of 4+ stars. Do NOT rent electric bikes from this company. One of the bikes we rented ran out of battery after just a couple hours. The other one had to be switched out before we even pulled away from the store because it literally shook and vibrated so bad just when pedaling. Took the employee a few minutes to go thru all the allegedly available bikes to find one with a charge. Go to Holland Bikes instead. You will be so glad you did. read more

My boyfriend and I came to San Diego to celebrate our anniversary. We found the snorkeling cave tour on Groupon and we luckily ended up on a private tour with McKenna! She was amazing! Super sweet, patient, and attentive to us and made sure we were always comfortable. I was terrified going in at first (I was mainly going for my boyfriend) but she made me feel so comfortable. Our experience couldn't of been better and she was a big part of that. Seeing a few seals swim right by us was a big perk too. Thank you for making our experience an unforgettable one! Rented stand up paddle boards for myself and my cousin who was visiting. We had booked them for 11am on a Monday. We got there early, though the first staff member did not arrive until 11:05am. We got on the water around 11:25am. They said we could still have the 90-minutes we booked for. The paddle boards didn't have the ankle straps and they have all one size. Overall it's a nice area to paddle board- going towards the bridge and around to the cove is much calmer waters. read more

Our beach cruisers were easily adjustable and came with a basket and lock per request with no additional fees. After getting our bike accidentally locked by someone else locking their bike.. we were cutting it so close to closing time and frantic to get the bikes back. After calling and explaining our situation, Sean was gracious enough to not only offer help, but to stay a bit later to give us time getting the bikes back. Sean, you seriously made our night. Got e-bikes from here for 3 hours. My e-bike ran out of juice 1 hour in while we were already a few miles away. Spent the following 2 hours pedaling it back to the shop. When we got back and I told them what had happened, all I got was a "oh sorry" and nothing else. We thoroughly enjoyed our ride around Coronado on S & S's electric bikes this past July 15th; it was MY first time on one! We do have one criticism and that is their billing. That 17.5% "Service and Maintenance Fee" is, frankly, b.s. I didn't look too closely at our receipt, since I didn't have my glasses, otherwise I would have made a bit of a stink. But when we were going over our CC statement and saw the extra charge . . . well, we felt like we'd just been on Frontier Airlines. Our world has become rife with "resort fees," "maintenance fees," "drop-off fees," "transaction fees," etc. It's a bad business practice. S & S has a good business; it provides people a lot of fun . . . they shouldn't soil it by doing what airlines and car rental companies do. My friend got a paddle boarding experience for her birthday. She made an appointment for 12:30 then got a message saying someone had called in so they moved her appoint to 2pm. When she called to verify the change the employee on the other line was very short with her and unhelpful. After that useless conversation her boyfriend called back to see if he could get clarity but met with the same thing. I get having a bad day but you could at least have tried to be somewhat helpful and not dismissive. So yikes, to whoever was answering phones 9/27/21 around 9am. They didn't get their paddleboarding experience, so a refund or rescheduling would be great. read more

Great location for the shop. I used the ferry to get over to Coronado, picked up a bike and headed to the beach! Rented to bike for 3 hours, and had a blast riding around Coronado. I'm 6'5 and the bike they gave me was perfect. Strong, tall, sturdy, and comfortable. Would def. recommend getting your bike rentals here. Once we were done, dropped it off, and got back on the ferry. Perfect day! read more

Best kayak and paddle boarding spot in Dan Diego. Right from the time we stepped foot in the shop we were made to feel welcome. Great service, awesome conversation and all around easy ordering process. We had a pretty large group of family with us, and it was a breeze. Once we walked down to the spot where we would take off from shore we were explained all the safety tips, easiest ways to go and get back, and were awesome enough to let us know if the paddle boards were too hard for the kids we could switch to kayaks. We all had such a blast. Once we returned all our gear we shopped a bit and picked out a T-shirt for one of our other kids who couldn't come with us due to a broken collar bone. Well ,I got a whole day E bike reservation to suprise my wife for a Sunday ride on the Silver Strand . Only to get to the bike shop and learn they don't recomend taking the bikes on the strand . Thats understandable but that's not stated anywhere , so I said if I can't do the strand then we won't need all day 166 dollars and change for 2 .I was then told I couldn't get a refund from online reservations . I wanted to do just the hourly rate . I was then told that the staff would have to submit a refund request with the owner . This was on Sunday , I couldn't get a refund so I said I came for a ride so I still want to ride . But for three hours. I did and was back right on time . I was told to wait on a response from the owner. I enjoyed my ride and went home and waited. I didn't get a call on Monday nor did I get a call on Tuesday so I called back on Wednesday. I then got a response from Nick letting me know that they didn't have a way to replace the E bike reservation for another one so they couldn't refund my money, and change it over to an hourly rate instead of all day. I said I am willing to pay just not for all day because there was nowhere that said that you couldn't ride on the strand and that was my all day plan. He then told me how about I give you all of your money back and you find another place to rent your bicycles from next time. I responded that wasn't what I suggested. I just wanted to pay for the time that I use the bikes, and let you know that you should let people know that they are restrictions such as not riding on the strand advertisement online, especially if you don't allow refund that's misleading. Nic then after telling me he would give me all my money back and just find another place to rent from sent me an email stating we have reduced the charges on your rental, and are refunding you half of your money. Well, you said you would refund all the money and don't come back insulting but understood. That's not what you did instead, you insult it and then kept half the money which I suggested you do in the first place, and it was the very thing you said you could not do. Ironic how all of a sudden now you can discount the bike ride and keep half of the money when you told me that wasn't possible which resulted in insults and dismissal telling me not to even come back to your establishment. You called that customer service. I did not ask you to give me anything free. I said I was willing to pay and the very thing that I suggested in the end after the insults. you ended up doing anyway. I run a very successful business in San Diego and I would never treat anybody like that. If you said you were going to give all the money back then do that if you said not to come back that's OK, but don't lie and say you're gonna give the money back and then insult me by keeping it and telling me to stay away when you were the one that said that wasn't possible. My first time kayaking was so fun! You don't need any experience (I don't even know how to swim, even though the rules states that you should...). My friends and I bought our tickets for the summer fireworks kayak tour through goldstar. Starts at 8pm. Check in is 30 minutes before. We came pretty early and was able to park in the lot. The check in process was super easy. After you sign your waiver form you get your life jacket and paddle. The kayak is already by the water for you. There's 2 guides with you at all time. One in the front and one in the back. The fireworks come from downtown not through sea world. Its suppose to start at 9pm but didn't come on until close to 9:30. It was such an amazing experience and something to cross off your bucket list. Highly recommend!! Suggest wearing clothes you don't mind getting wet, got a little chilly towards the end. And bring a water proof phone case just in case the Kayak flips over. read more

Had a horrible experience with customer service. I made reservations online and it did not work, there was a "glitch" and the girl said she was going to email my reservations and never did for the date I wanted. So I figured she didn't do it; but I wanted to make sure so I called and they said I had reservations. I NEVER got the confirmation sent to me. I have snapshots of the reservations I tried making and proof just in case they didn't believe me. I called again today and was told that if I don't come in - my reservation will be forfeited and no rescheduling would be made. I had to go to the Hospital & told them my online situation so I did not plan to come in and they still wouldn't reschedule - I didn't even want a refund - I just wanted to reschedule. disappointed with this experience. I had a terrible experience with the paddle board rental! First, the staff didn't even know how to properly adjust the length of the paddle. Then he got huffy when I asked for a paddle that wasn't broken. If you like carrying a paddle board almost half a mile to a beach then you will love this place because they would not give us a dolly. Oh and they also don't mention that their boards are deteriorating thus will be waterlogged when you get out of the water. I cut my foot on the board its self because it was coming apart so bad. The unprofessionalism and lack of knowledge at this place are more than I could honestly recommend. My friend and I agreed not only would we never come back, but we would never suggest our friends or family to rent paddle boards from here. When I told the clerk that I was unhappy with the board and that they could have warned us about the water logging I was met with a half hearted "oh I'm sorry" I really got the impression that none of them had any idea what they were doing. My girlfriend and I had a terrible experience with this company in Coronado. One of our bike's tires exploded on the other side of the island. After carrying it several blocks to secure it we phoned for them to pick up the bike. The company picked up the bikes, while not offering to give us a ride back. We walked all the way across the island only to be refused any sort of refund. We paid for an all day venture, had 20 minutes of bike usage and were rudely refused any sort of middle ground agreement. There are lots of Bikes to rent, go somewhere else!! read more

My boyfriend got the groupon deal for two paddle boards and it was such a great experience. It was my second time and his first time paddle boarding. We made reservations for 9am and it was perfect. It wasn't sunny out yet and no one was out but us. The guy that helped us check in was very informative and helpful. He gave my boyfriend tips on getting started. 1.5 hours was too short so we'll definitely come back again. After my last experience here as seen in my review I was looking forward to renting bikes here again for my trip but left feeling scammed with new hidden fees. We did the Groupon deal again for the all day bike rentals except they insisted we pay through the store instead of the app. Thinking it would be cheaper, it ended up almost twice as much because of hidden fees. They didn't have this before or we would've rented from our resort. The person in charge who I am thinking is the manager was rude, impatient, cold, and seemed like he could care less about customer service. He tried to convince us to go for the half day rate which he claimed was "cheaper". This wasn't the case because if you calculate the hourly rate it comes down to much more. He also made it look like he was giving us a huge discount when in reality he hiked up the price and deducted an amount that made it still more expensive than Groupon like a bad Black Friday deal. Don't treat your customers like they're stupid and maybe treat us with some respect. Thanks to his customer service I'm not returning. The other guys running the store were nice but if the management is going to be like that, why support the business? Note to management: if you are gonna charge for "maintenance fees" at least maintain your bikes. Reading reviews of tires blowing and our own helmets being dirty and STICKY makes us think these are just scam charges. Not only that but the guy in charge tried to give us bikes with the most worn out tires thinking we wouldn't notice. The bike seats were so uncomfortable that after an hour we were in a lot of pain from sore bottoms just sitting on these rock hard bike seats. Also instead of giving us individual U locks like last time he gave us one cable lock which kept getting jammed every time we tried to lock our bikes. Bottom line is they care more about money than their clients. Avoid! read more
