Man, I wish I never transferred my car loan from Aero to Sunwest. Yes, they offered a 2% drop and that at the time seemed attractive but it's been 4 months now and it's NOTHING but problems. Their online banking system is embarrassing, they never work on the weekends and therefor you cannot see any activity on the weekends pertaining to your loan. I have a surepay set up to withdraw funds from my bank account every two weeks, and that process itself was a nightmare to set up. I've never spent less than 8 minutes on hold; the initial setup of my account also included them spelling my legal name incorrectly. You also cannot make a payment to your loan using a bank or a debit card without incurring a $10 processing fee, transfers take up to 10 business days. It's kind of ludicrous. I bank with another credit union and they are MUCH more advanced, even Aero was advanced. This feels like a damn nightmare every month having to make sure they did their job and processed the loan payment. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

I've been a member here since 1993. Can't beat the personalized service whether you go inside or go through the drive thru. Car loan rates are typically much better than the dealerships. I have refinanced a home loan through them and recently have been investing in CD's and other stable investments. read more

Liza at the Sunwest Credit Union Mesa, AZ location greeted my mother who came in. My mother was having some trouble with her Sunwest online account being inactive. Liza helped her by going through the process step by step on the re-activation of the account and setup her Zelle account. She made the right calls to the IT folks on the phone when permission was needed for reactivating the account. Then she helped her with transferring funds as well as ordering new checks for her. She was on target for what needed to be done and explained to my mother how the checks would arrive and when. She was patient in responding to my mother's questions and provided great customer service for my mother. This is what keeps customers satisfied with Sunwest CU and hopefully this encourages other potential customers who might want to consider joining Sunwest CU. Thanks Liza! read more

Since the online interface was changed, it is almost impossible to get online either by my phone or computer. We have been to the local office manager who tried to help. Tech support said we needed to get newer phones and computers! Ours are less then 3 years old! I have purchased 2 different vehicles in past and now would never recommend this place for any of my family or friends... Horrible customer service and wait times to get information on payoff or any type of information. The branches are almost empty so wonder why they keep closing branches and no more Saturday banking... Now on hold for over 25 minutes while writing this message since the "virtual" assistant could not answer my questions.... This is the worst banking experience! Totally unimpressed... Why do I have to show my Driver's License to make a payment on an auto loan? And when I ask why, is there a reason I get attitude from the teller? Other banks have never asked for an ID so this is a reasonable question that deserves an answer, not an attitude. read more

decided to edit my previous review and explain more. i came in today because my dad and i were selling my car and paying off the loan. we were very happy as we had spent time trying to sell it and pay it off. we gave each other a high five and my dad says "you put money in the bank and your credit score went up!" the lady helping me who had a manager pin on, in a snarky tone says "i mean not really". this isn't even the first time this lady has given me attitude and she's the "manager". she went out of her way to say something snarky and try to burst our bubble, instead of smiling and saying have a good day.... i'm not one to leave a review but as a manager you need to do better. hoping to spread awareness to her attitude and hopefully this will help other customers not go thru the same! thank you and have a great day! read more

Do not charge bank fees, that's the good and that's where it ends. Terrible service. I was a first time car buyer (loan) they ran my credit and afterwards told me I never bought a car before from a dealer, if they had asked I would have told them... results they do a hard hit on my credit and tell me they won't loan to me. Unless you have a large account they do not care about you. read more

On hold no less than 20 minutes before reaching anyone, no matter what time of day I call, and I always get an incompetent customer service rep, one which didn't take my information correctly almost causing me to miss a payment, and this most recent was not telling me what my account number is, or a username to log in to view said information, the customer service at sunwest is completely useless, and this is coming from someone who does customer service for another company. waste of time. always read more

Update: My card has been cancelled 3 times in the past 5 days because of "suspicious activity" when I am the only one using the card, and I have reassured to the tellers that I am making these $10 and $20 purchases on purpose, and that it is not fraud, very disappointed with this bank. I make about two $10 or $20 purchases everyday, and sunwest thinks it's fraud, I'm going to switch banks immediately. read more

Cecil made the loan process a breeze! The special they have on personal loans at 7.9% can really not be beat. That is what brought me in after being referred to them for a personal loan. I have banked with Sunwest for at least 10years now and it is a pretty god bank! BIT this branch is NOT at all what Sunwest truly is. The people working this branch are very misinformed or lack the knowledge that this bank is...... yes it is a GOOD Bank, JUDT NOT this branch. The people most, not all make up their own rules as they go THATIS CLEAR! And it start at the top. I have seen the MANAGER literally take things in her own ideas and make up bank rules which don't reflect Sunwest. I won't take it to her, because truth be told she's clearly an Alpha female, like me. And arguing with someone who is straight misinformed..... well you just can't address without hire ups. So yes, the drive through takes long too. There are a couple god people that know how this bank should be and they reflect that. Most don't! It won't make me jump ship, just not THIS BRANCH. Reminds me of the movie, "the land that time forgot." I'll stop right here. One more thing, I have come to THIS BRANCH a lot over a ten year period and it is the same as when I have come the first time. POOR management. Worst bank ever. It's almost 3 weeks and I still don't have my car title. I gave them a cashier's check, NOT a personal check, to pay off the car loan. They say it is "standard" to hold on to the check for 10 days. Really? A cashier's check from a very large well known bank? Then come to find out they got my zip code wrong even though they were taking my address straight from my license and are refusing to do anything about it with the MVD. (somehow they got it right on other paperwork, but, not the important MVD stuff). So now it is my problem to correct it with the MVD and to fix their mistake. If they can't handle getting a zip code right or how to handle cashier's checks, do you really want them handling your money? Not to mention their poor customer service by refusing to lift a finger to rectify their mistake. read more

The bathroom is tucked away in this weird corner so it's like only the staff is supposed to be able to use the bathroom or something? They have to follow u in there to make sure you take a piss and don't rob the place or something. Super weird. This is just a super weird bank in general. read more
