However, the agent informed me that in order to activate the card and change the PIN number, I would need to call the number stated on the information paper she provided. It was a bit inconvenient to have to go through this process instead of doing it at the bank, but I accepted it. I rarely use my debit card since I prefer using my credit cards for points and rewards. A few days later, I decided to call the number she had given me, but to my surprise, it did not work. The number appeared to be disconnected. When I attempted to contact their customer service, unfortunately, I received a recorded message that says it was outside of their operating hours, and I was unable to receive any further assistance. I don't have a lot of confidence in a bank that can't even get their phone numbers in order. Due to this frustrating experience, I'm inclined to leave a one-star rating.

My wife and I were looking to buy a home and finance it through Wells Fargo. Several years back they were our mortgage company and we were pleased with the customer service. We were disappointed to find that the mortgage banker we were familiar with had moved to another branch. Kevin was the mortgage banker. He worked with us to get pre-approved immediately. The following week we put an offer on a house. We went to submit the offer to him so he could order the appraisal, but got no response. after 3 days of calling, leaving voice mails, and texting with no reply, we contacted the branch manager. She couldn't get a hold of him either. After another day went by Kevin contacted us and said he had been sick. He apologized promising that he would never leave us hanging again. Kevin ordered the appraisal. Our appraisal came back lower than our offer. so we counter offered. We once again submitted it to Kevin. No response. This was on a Friday. Monday the same thing, no response. Tuesday I went to the bank to see Kevin personally. There was a different person at his desk. When I asked for Kevin I was told that he was no longer with the bank. My rating for Kevin at this point would have been a -5 if there were such a rating. The person at Kevin's desk was Andre. He told me he would be taking Kevin's place. With reservations I agreed to go ahead with the process. The rest of the process didn't go smooth. Because we qualified for down payment assistance, we were constantly asked for more documents and our loan was transferred to a Wells Fargo in Minnesota. Andre was there for us through the rest of process and explained everything to us. He sympathized with our frustration and worked very hard to make sure we had an on time closing. I would give Andre a 6 star rating if I could. His customer service is outstanding. The bottom line is that our loan was completed and we closed on time. I rated the whole overall experience a 2, because I have experienced better. If you do finance a home through Wells Fargo in Mesa, I would recommend talking to Andre.

I finally have a bank that I'm not getting charged ridiculous fees at. Also Customer Service is always phenomenal. I can actually get a hold of a person and talk to somebody without being on an automated system for 10-30 minutes like the big boys. Never once have I had a bad situation with Desert Financial.
