I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have received from Alfredo Velasco, who has proven to be the worst representative of this company. Despite reaching out to him numerous times via email and phone, I have yet to receive a single response to my inquiries. This marks the fifth email I've sent, and my attempts to reach him by phone have also gone without any acknowledgment. It's difficult to comprehend how someone like Alfredo could be employed in a position that requires customer interaction. His behavior reflects poorly on the company, as it comes across as unprofessional and neglectful. As a new homeowner, I have several important questions, particularly regarding the usage of the mobile app and other related topics. However, Alfredo has failed to address any of these queries. Add me to list of how horrible this company is. Around May/June of 2025 (last year) I kept getting a GFC (ground fault) error on my inverter display. When I checked the App it was showing that no electricity was being produced. I called them and they said to stop the system and restart, which I did. But this kept happening day after day. It would power up in the morning, but after an hour or so it would go back to GFC error with no power being produced. They went ahead and opened a Jira Ticket. I called back several times over the next couple of months asking for an update. Each time they said they're still waiting for a local technician to look at it. Then I called again and they said they closed the ticket because it was solved. Maybe to them, but not to me. But at least I could still see on the app that it was or was not producing power until I couldn't. So I went ahead and called them back and they had me open the box that contained the internet device and it had no power. So I had the outdoor GFC outlet replaced (that the original contractor had installed). This not only fixed the no power to the internet device issue, but also the GFC error, until about two weeks ago (June 2026). I'm back to the system powering up in the morning, then logging a GFC error within an hour or so. So I called Sunstrong and they said I need to monitor the system multiple times every day in the morning to see if it powers up and later on to see if it errors out. I asked "Chris" at what point does Sunstrong "own" the system since I lease it, because I had to have the GFC replaced, he said I shouldn't have had that done. All I can say is there's no hope except in about 6 more years my lease is over. I wish Sunpower would have gone completely bankrupt so that my system would either be mine or non-existent. Either is a better solution than this "management" company. If you're considering getting a new system through this company, look elsewhere. Update: happened again today. After my SunPower solar lease was transferred to SunStrong Management, my system stopped working and has not been restored. I continued making on-time payments before the transition, but my autopay was disrupted during the transfer. When I contacted SunStrong, I was directed to billing and told the system cannot be turned back on. I have not been provided a resolution for restoring service. Have not had solar in 8 weeks and constantly call for service and set up a new appointment and never show up and always cancel for one reason or another Been 4 times already and cancel every time They said they would call back with a new appointment but still not fixed. I've never been more frustrated in a company in my life. I don't even know how to begin. We bought our house three months ago and still cannot get anything done because they are incapable of doing their job... it's clear this company is cutting costs at every possible opportunity and it shows. They are impossible to get ahold of. Anytime you call and can speak to a person they cannot find any information. Every time we call they have told us a different name or email is on the account. They have no records of our transactions and we are still unable to set up an online account to pay online, as the account number we were given is not enough characters. Sunnova never completed the install for my solar system. I provide Sunnova with a breach of contract notice and termination notice over 3 years ago. I thought it was over. Sunnova went bankrupt and sold their contracts to Sunstrong. I was somehow included in this sale. I have provided Sunstrong with the evidence that Sunnova never completed my install, I terminated the contract for non performance, yet Sunstrong continues to harass me for payment and has reported me to the credit bureaus. When I have emailed them regarding the situation, Sunstrong has decided to ignore me for over 2 months now. I've also requested a debt validation notice which they refuse to provide. I called in and was told that I didn't have sufficient evidence. Sunstrong is trying to illegally force me to pay for services/materials not rendered/received. Scammers. read more

The customer service is worse than atrocious. There is only one number to call, and very often no available supervisor. Impossible to speak with any upper management, or any other department for assistance. God help you if you accidently route payment to Sunnova, they play blind while making interest on your money, and charge you late fees for Sunstrong. We have closing scheduled on a refinance and just need the FHA/FNMA foreclosure clause added to the lease contract. We cannot get through to anybody that can help. Other companies send this document while on the phone. We cannot afford to wait their estimated 15 business days, for a simple document that is pre-populated and certainly already available. I would flip this to a five star review if somebody reaches out to me and helps fulfill this simple request so we can close. There is a total lack of service and breach of maintenance terms by Sunstrong. My system is showing an issue with a microinverter, and three panels are not working. Despite multiple communications, the company has failed to schedule a technician. Instead they keep emailing me to tell me my system is producing even though it is not producing to capacity. I would know, as I have had this system for almost three years. Because Sunstrong controls the system infrastructure/lease agreement, they are contractually obligated to maintain this equipment. I will update this review if Sunstrong contacts me with a concrete date for a certified technician to visit my home and review the system. I spoke with a person named Robert, he seemed so much in a hurry to get rid of me. the prompts selections are so confusing, it's a nightmare. our solar panel has been a nightmare getting it to be connected in Las Vegas, but their bill came right on time, a bill we don't feel we owe since the panel was not connected when it was supposed to be. our lease was with a company called sunnova, got transferred to sunstrong, what a nightmare. This company is TERRIBLE!! SunStrong Management has somehow managed to make an already frustrating situation worse than it was under Sunnova. When they assumed these accounts, there was absolutely no sense of urgency about servicing them. Five months later, it still feels like they haven't even gotten started. Communication has been practically nonexistent. Customers were given little to no explanation about the transition process, the timing, or what to expect. Every time I log into the portal or call the support line, it feels like the system is designed to avoid answering basic questions rather than provide real help. Customer support has been particularly disappointing. Out of the five representatives I've spoken with, four had either very heavy accents or minimal English proficiency, making it extremely difficult to communicate or get clear answers. Even when I do manage to get through to someone, they rarely seem able - or willing - to actually address the issue. Today I was told that SunStrong is still working on uploading the information they received from Sunnova into their system. They said they started this process back in November. Here we are five months later, and they can't even provide an ETA for when it will be finished. Meanwhile, customers like me are losing out on renewable energy credits for power we're sending to the program because SunStrong can't get its systems in order. The lack of transparency, urgency, and competent support is unacceptable. If this is how they plan to handle inherited accounts, it doesn't inspire much confidence in their ability to manage anything effectively. Horrible company. I had Sunpower who filed bankruptcy last year and sunstrong management took over. Getting a tech out to fix my system was a run around but someone did come out today. Glad I was home because an appt was scheduled for next Monday, not today Friday. The very poorly spoken, rep I originally talked to on the phone had me going through all sorts of motions that later the technician said were not appropriate. Today, the repair tech, Sinclair seemed knowledgable, competant, polite, easy to understand. But I advise readers to stay away from this horribly managed solar company. read more

The majority of the companies interaction are with artificial intelligence. Anything to do with a PPA buyout or termination buyout is next to impossible to get. I contacted support to get access to a failed device that a solar repair company wants to check out. The reply was from someone whose reading comprehension skills are below average, who told me they do not offer support, and who advised me to take actions I had already taken. As for monitoring, I prepaid for a year for an application that tells me my batteries are 100% charged, when in fact they are dead. The dead batteries are the reason I hired a company in the first place. Support did not address my monitoring application issue or offer to forward my message to the correct department, assuming there is one. Despite my simple request for access to an essential component of a broken system, and my being a monitoring subscriber in good standing, SunStrong is ignoring me. Sunstrong has a very poor stystem in place for home purchasers that are purchasing homes that have their managed solar systems in order to get the account put in their name from the seller. In one phone call (phillipines) i was given two different numbers and was told that I was internally transferred to the wrong department. The account was paid in full and a month later, still cannot get a receipt to show it, just the cancelled check. Need to get a good lawyer and take them to Court! read more

more than a year trying to get my panels fixed. They sent micro inverters in the mail. Finally they came out just for them to say there's bees underneath the panels, that I would have to get them professionally removed. They didn't even want to see the package. I went on my roof just to fine 2 wraps. 2nd visit they sent one guys to troubleshoot the panels. He looked at the box and said these are what needed to be replaced. but since they sent only one guy he needed help. 3rd visit the same two tech came back. As 1 went up the other called his boss to say this was an all day job. He got the answer of you guys can get it done in 4 hours. Again he went up for a couple of minutes and again had the same excuse of bees underneath the panels and vent. Recorded the vent and panels with nothing. no bees, or wraps. If I could give zero stars I would. I called in May 2026 to report that my electricity provider was not getting communication from my system. They sent a technician out to find out why. Turns out my converter was corroded and I needed a new one. So they put in an order and said when the part was available they would set up an install appt. One month later still no word from them. I called and was told that the part was not in. I informed them that at least someone should be in touch to let me k on that status. One month later my part finally came in and they notified me to schedule an appt. So I did. The day of the appt I got a text stating that due to unforseen circumstances my appt had to be rescheduled. So now im waiting 2 months for them to fix this problem and they want to make me wait another week. I told them that I wasnt rearranging my schedule again to accommodate them. They have to accommodate me since it wasn't my fault they had to reschedule. If you can avoid using this company do it. read more

Sunstrong took over my Sunnova account, which was on autopsy for years. After the initial notification of this months ago, I called them to set up autopay. Apparently, after doing this, there was an error by the rather inarticulate CSR on the phone. I then started getting daily collection calls from robocallers asking ME to call back and spend time negotiating their phone tree. Then, I got someone on the line, explained the situation and again, set up autopsy. Got an email proving it. The next day, collections calls resumed. Again, I spoke with another CSR who explained the autopay had been set up but I owed for the month before (God forbid they credit the month for the inconvenience). I paid. The next month... the SAME thing happened again. I CALLED, RESETUP MY AUTOPAY. Guess what, getting daily collection calls again. Would you trust this company with your financial information? Contacted the CEO via LinkedIn (being a journalist and compliance officer myself), and got NO REPLY. Getting daily collection calls still, despite having three rounds of emails showing I am enrolled in autopay. This feels like a scam and I am strongly considering the involvement of my state AG as I can't be the only one here in Sunnova's operating area being harassed by Sunstrong. read more

Completely awful. They can't find me in their system. They told me all new account numbers start with a 4. I read them the letter that states your new account number is 1XXXXXX! Now as I read all the negative comments, i worry. My electric bill is as if we didn't even have the solar panels. Now I cant view my usage and no less not even FREE...
