We had Jose Castaneda from J&K turn up last week to perform home warranty work at our house. Jose…read morewas ahead of time for the appointment, he called and let me know he would be coming sooner and if that was ok with me. This in stark contrast to Budget Electrical (I reviewed them recently) who were dispatched by Fidelity Home warranty service and failed to turn up after several attempts. Jose was able to diagnose the CAT5 wiring issue using the cool equipment he had and fix the CAT5 data wires. He really knew what he was doing. Very courteous, knowledgeable. After a bit of removing cover plates he cleaned up the debris, which 99% of electricians I have worked with never do. Jose was nice enough to also debug by in-wall speakers issue even though that was not part of the work order. All in all a stellar person to work with. Cons: J&K was difficult to reach when I was trying to schedule a visit. My home warranty service was able to talk to them but their office never replied to my VM. I expected a bit more responsiveness on their part. But Jose made up for their shortcomings :-)

I was quoted $475 for junk removal after sending requested pictures. When Dante arrived (I was not…read moreable to be there), he looked around and told my two elderly aunts, who were there, that it would be $2500. Then once the day was done, and I was willing to pay the $2500 (5 times the original quote), he told me it was $5800 and he yelled at me on the phone and threatened that he was not leaving the property until he got his money. Of course my aunts felt guilted and pressured and I felt they were in danger and told them to go inside and call the police. They paid this man instead. TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION OF SERVICE COSTS. ELDER ABUSE. EXTORTION and THREATS. This man should NOT be allowed on your property. To be fair, my aunts said the work was very good. QUOTES, however, are part of the business of junk removal. He had opportunity to revise the estimate with me along the way and did not. And this vast misrepresentation feels like a set up. And the threats were real. And Dante was incredibly pushy, rude and argumentative on the phone. BEWARE.

Jose and his associate spent about 4 hours on my job and not only did they produce tile and carpet that looked like new, Jose took the time to educate me on which cleaning products, in the sea of products available, would most effectively clean and prolong the beauty of my floors. He even provided me with booties to wear so that I could walk on the damp carpet while it dried. this small detail showed me that not only does this company prioritize customer satisfaction but also takes great care in their work.
