Under new management and the detergent they use is so perfumed it's unbearable. I've dropped off laundry 3 times with a full bottle of free and clear detergent and asked them if they could use that on my laundry. They agree each time, and they did use it the first time. On the next two visits they clearly did not use the detergent I gave them. I don't know what they do with the detergent I gave them, they didn't use it and they didn't give it back to me. I'll no longer be using their services because it's a waste of money as I have to wash everything again because the smell is so bad. 2 stars because the staff is friendly. I miss Regina. read more

This business came well-recommended on my neighborhood's FB page and it did not disappoint. I had blankets that were not going to fit in my new washing machine. I was able to drop them off at Sunshine and come back for them two days later. It's been a while since I've been to a laundromat, so I can't speak to the price. Two queen-sized heavy blankets set me back about $25.00. That was for the drop-off service, which I have to assume costs more than if I had stayed there and worked the machines myself. read more

I LOVE this place. I've used them for wash-and-fold and Drycleaning, so I can't comment on other aspects. This drop off-service is timely, friendly, and excellently done. All similar items are folded to the same size for easy stacking. Items are loaded into the bag in a logical order so they stay neat. You probably couldn't fold your own clothes this neatly if you tried. Also: if you have something embarassingly messy happen (carsick dog, cat poop on your peacoat, ect) just explain it to them and they will work their magic. I have challenged these ladies with some pretty gross stuff and they wow me every time. Their friendliness can't be beat, which may not sound like that big of a perk until you're having a bad day. Then you can rest assured that you'll not have to match any socks that night AND at least one person will smile at you like you made their day. read more

I go to this place mainly because it's walking distance from where I work. Chosen for convenience, but the results have not be disappointing. I've had many items dry cleaned, and every one was returned in great condition. I also had a comforter cleaned there because my cat had an 'accident' on it. Have been taking our air bnb laundry for drop off service for a couple of years now. They are so friendly and kind. They do an incredible job! Take the extra effort to look through everything for stains and make sure to remove them if possible. Matches up all the bed linens in sets and wraps up everything neatly. The ladies at Sunshine are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Every experience has been excellent. They're quick, happy to accommodate your time requirements, and very reasonably priced. They're also very honest about what you need and don't need -- on several occasions they've saved me money that I was fully prepared to fork over because they knew better than I did (like the one time I tried to unnecessarily get all my ties dry-cleaned, or the time I tried to dry-clean my suits when they only needed a press). Overpriced and a rude Asian lady working up front. Staff told me 1.50 a shirt if 3 or more shirts. Asian lady denied it and charge 1.85. Not a huge difference but it's a shady way to do business. The younger girl who initially helped me was very friendly and the only thing worth stars. read more

I recently used Sunshine Cleaner to assist in laundering linens and towels for an event I managed with several hundred guests. I note the sheer size of my event because it resulted in plenty of dirty linens! The folks at Sunshine Cleaner have done an exceptional job in picking up said linens the day after my event and returning them within a day or so in pristine condition. Their quick turn around time has been extremely helpful since these same linens are used again shortly thereafter. If I didn't know any better, I would have assumed these were completely new linens as they are returned neatly pressed, folded, and labeled in an organized manner! Every time I've contacted SC on the phone Regina has been extremely nice and willing to help. In my experiences on the phone with her, she has exemplified excellent customer service. This is for the DIY... While there are washers/dryers available to do your own laundry, this is definitely that the business for it. It's cramped and not the most efficient place . Almost every useable surface is covered in other people's clothes and the workers seemed offended that I was taking up a machine to do my load. The machines work and my clothes were clean, but I will not use this business again when I want to do laundry. read more

As others have said friendly staff, perfectly folded and cleaned clothes, even asked if I was allergic to any detergents. I dropped off a small bag and it costs about $10, if I would have done it myself it would have been only $3, but hey I'm traveling and I dropped it off at 7:30 am before work and picked it up at 5 pm with everything done. ;) read more

If this is the laundry on Greenbrier, It's hard to get a machine here. So many are being used by the attendants for full service cleaning. I was thankful that the attendant recognized my puzzled look as I walked through the door. One immediately approached me and helped me get started. This is more than I can say for the other laundry on Hydraulic, near Inglewood. The attendant there ignored me and answered indignantly when I asked a question. It's been a long time since I have been to a laundromat and I knew nothing about laundry cards. I'm still back in change machine days. I appreciate the assistance I got on Greenbrier. While the lady who greeted me was nice enough, this place is not the best dry cleaners ever. I came in with 8 dress shirts, a pair of pants and maybe 20 items for my wife. She immediately told me that this was going to cost a fortune as my wife's items would be $6 per. So I picked those back up and left the shirts and pants to be cleaned. I also pointed out a stain on the pants. I picked up the items and the stain remained on the pants. If a cleaner can't clean then whats the point? read more

I am only giving this awful business one star because the system will not permit me to give 0 stars. I have never written a negative review about a business but feel compelled to warn others. The Asian woman who runs this laundromat is extremely rude to the customers who come in to wash their own clothes. As stated above, she seems to be concerned only with rushing people so she can make more money washing clothes for others. I am a senior citizen and am a bit slow in my movements. She literally rammed her cart against mine and raised her voice to me telling me that I was taking too long at the dryer and she needed to use it. When I told her I needed a bit more time, she started telling me like a maniac. Mind you, I had only been at the dryer removing my clothes for about five minutes at this point. I took my new Queen sized comforter here because it was too large to wash in my machine. I exchanged my quarters for their tokens (not something I'm used to). I proceeded to take my comforter to one of the industrial washers in the back and was literally stopped by an attendant advising that it wouldn't fit. Really? She offered no other options and then proceeded to fill the washer that I intended to use with two large bags of drop-off laundry. That's really convenient isn't it? What followed was a disasterous attempt to get my money back...can't use laundry tokens as legal tender at Kroger's! Not even remotely impressed with this place. read more

Three monster baskets of laundry, unsorted, the aftermath of several world travels, including stuff that should have been taken to the dry cleaners. Being the mom of a student, I was ready to just throw away anything that they might have ruined. Instead, it was a flawless outcome: they did the necessary dry cleaning, they sorted the types of items right down to matching the socks. The knotty problems: a Camelbak, a polyester throw blanket, full-body coveralls, technical gear from snow skiing, and some seriously stained pants; were handled and clean better than I would have ever expected. The shrink-wrap and uniform folding allowed my son's motley collection of t-shirts to actually fit into his chest of drawers in the small apartment. All of this for only $47. The clothes and items that they salvaged were worth twice that amount. I am definitely a fan of these amazing ladies. read more

These ladies are so wonderful! I use the drop off service and always have my baby with me. They help me load and unload my car!! Plus, they are so warm and friendly. Have only used Sunshine for wash and fold. Customer service/convenience: great, very friendly. Very accommodating, offered me same day service when I dropped my stuff off at noon. Value: Fantastic, cheaper than other wash and fold places I've used around here Quality: First, they don't fold your button-down shirts, they put them on a hanger. They don't iron them, but since they take them out of the dryer right away, it's 90% as good as ironing. This is awesome, and a big upgrade from other wash and fold places I've used, which usually just fold all your nice shirts so they have creases in them. They should advertise that service. In general, everything is very neat, clean and fresh smelling. One negative: they seem to have shrunk a couple of my sweatshirts, probably by drying them hot instead of tumble-dry. Ideally they would separate out that kind of material and dry it on low or something. If you have a lot of delicate stuff I'd ask them about it first. I'm tempted to take one star off for this, but if I don't have any other problems with the service for the next few months I'll just leave it as is. read more

I'm staying here in town for a few weeks and using this place for the drop off wash and fold. Excellent service, 24 hour turn around, they fold the T-shirt's and underwear, bundle my socks and hang up my dress shirts (wash, dry, and hang). All this for 10-15 dollars. If I lived in Charlottesville, I'd never do my own laundry, this is a dream service...great find for long-term out of towner. read more

I travel great deal for work and have extended stays most of the time. I tend to pack light and seek a local laundry for cleaning my clothes. I have been assigned to Charlottesville on three occasions over the past year. Sunshine Laundry was suggested to me by a local college student. I find the service excellent, staff is very friendly and accommodating. I am able to drop off my items, return later in the day. My clothes are freshly cleaned and properly folded. As for there pricing, I find it very reasonable. I have used their service on each of my stays in Charlottesville and I will continue to use their service. In my opinion this is a excellent customer service oriented business; I would highly recommend their service. read more

The ladies here are really really sweet- and my laundry was fresh and clean. The only reason why I am writing this review is because I suspect a large roach was carried in on my laundry. I found it in my bed on the 3rd level of my home- and my research seems to indicate that oriental roaches are usually found on the ground level of a home. Apparently this type of roach thrives in wet environments and it isn't uncommon to have one hitch hike in on laundry. I live in a home only 2 years old with regular preventative pest control, so this is a really odd coincidence if it wasn't from laundry. Check your laundry carefully. I'll now be spending my Saturday re-washing my clothes and tearing apart my bedrooms and closets to clean out any additional insects and eggs or nymphs. read more

Great job! I woke up one morning to find my dog had vomited all over my quilt from Anthropologie. The quilt was a gift and the stain was really unbelievable - I've never seen so much vomit from a dog. I was fully expecting there to be some staining left behind but lo and behold they got the whole thing out! Very friendly service and quick too!
