(Cross-posting this from Google because I remembered Yelp exists! I did fix some typos in this one…read more There are some more recent reviews on Google as well.) So six years after leaving this place, I decided to share my story. A couple things to keep in mind while reading this: 1) I have since found another therapist and learned to trust in (good) mental healthcare providers again (a good session actually inspired me to write this), and 2) I am not writing this out of anger or pain, but a desire to prevent further suffering, as I can see based on these reviews/responses that things haven't really changed. I am also building my own career in mental health, and this experience did end up serving as somewhat of an inspiration for me to help build and be part of a better system. I do also think this is the "final piece" to me healing from this. This is something I have held onto for a long time, as I had been a client here for nearly seven years when this occurred, so it was extremely shocking. It is going to be long, so please bear with me and read the pictures I am attaching (way over character limit). In summary: this office sent my bank account into the red with the auto-withdrawal of their late cancellation fee and left me with negative money for days. It was the second, MAYBE third time I had cancelled within 24 business hours in SEVEN YEARS of being a client here (the last four of which I was being seen on a near bi-weekly basis and cancelled once). Every time I had to do so, including this one, the circumstances were entirely out of my control. I wasn't expecting any "special treatment" outside of basic compassion and understanding from my longtime mental healthcare provider's office. The way Tiffany, Heidi, and the therapist I was seeing at the time (who appears to no longer be with the practice) treated me when I spoke to them about this absolutely shattered me and sent me spiraling into a mental health crisis. EDIT NOTE: Yelp is being a bit of a pain with resizing images, so I broke it up into three parts. Mind the captions labeling each part, as it looks like Yelp is scrambling them.

I was very apprehensive about this place at first. I had a previous Dr office that I loved…read moretremendously but that wasn't covered under my ins. I was forced to find a new one that was covered due to some extenuating circumstances. I have to admit, I feel that Esther is a Godsend. Seriously, coming from another office can be a bit frightening as it comes to mental wellness. I mean, you spend time getting to know someone and suddenly you're having to share all over again. I am aware of their cancellation fee and it is true it is $65. One day, I was running behind and called them to see whether it would be best to cancel. The office staff advised me that it would be best to show up even if I were late, save myself the late cancellation fee. I know they text and call to remind me of upcoming appointments with enough time to cancel in a timely manner if I should need to do so. So, the fee? That's all on me, if I'm a no show. At first, I had a few frustrations. For instance, their need for a card on file (for the cancellation fees), at the time I started visiting here, I didn't have any cash at all and the thought of giving them my card really upset me. I got over it. The exercises and the support offered has been monumental in my care. Esther has done a wonderful job in assisting me in assisting myself. I have recommended this office to others based on my experience. My understanding is not all of the providers have openings and not all of them accept the same insurance. I have visited a great deal of counselors in my lifetime and I feel it's very important to find one that fits your needs. For me, this office does and I am willing to drive out of my way to continue my care here.
