When I started to write something (I won't call it a review) for Josefa, I wasn't ready. I wanted what I wrote to mean something and to reflect how I feel about the affect she's had on my life. So, I'll take a shot now, but I'm still not sure I can do her justice. Josefa is a truly gifted person. She not only had an almost immediate understanding of the person I was, but also a tremendous insight into 'why I was' and how I could be the person I wanted to be. It's interesting because I had visited a counselor on and off over many years, whom I thought was good. However, in just two coaching sessions with Josefa, I discovered things about myself that I had neither thought of nor discussed, previously. Over the course of working with Josefa for a few months, she helped me to better understand myself, which led to quite a change in the way I feel about myself and how I interact with the world around me. From session to session, she always was on top of what we had previously discussed and was familiar with issues that were currently affecting my life. And, she was always on point with suggestions on how to best handle situations. Furthermore, the suggestions were ones that I could carry forward with me to future issues. Does everything work out for me now exactly like I want it to... of course not. But, I can certainly handle things much better now than I previously could. It may sound like I was a basket-case prior to working with Josefa. I don't think that's the 'case', but I certainly had issues. I imagine I still do. But, now I have much more of an inner calm about myself and confidence in myself that I never had previously. Thank you, Josefa. You have made a tremendous difference in my life.

Counseling is very difficult to get right. Some counselors are too soft - others too hard/aloof…read more Some just want to chat with you while others want to do exercises. Troy Stone is one of the better counselors I've been to. He is honest, calls you on your BS, relatable, and has plenty of examples. He will chat about your day-to-day stuff but he always pulls it back to - what is your goal and what is the science behind it (love language, attachment theory, trauma, etc.). Other MFT counselors I've gone to barely touch on such subjects which greatly hinders long term fixes - to fix what is wrong today you must understand where you came from. If you simply talk about what pissed you off last week and never touch on why or what happened to you in the past that predisposed you to those emotions... then you're just spinning your wheels.

I was losing myself and my way, just barely able to try and meet everyone else's needs, completely unaware of my own. I didn't want to fade away, but I knew for my heart and mind to engage I would need a good therapist. I read Carol's profile, and immediately knew she was the one. Her approach took into consideration sensitive people. In life I have been misunderstood by many. I was so often referred to as "sensitive". I tried to push this aspect of my personality, the deep feeling and thinking, down until I could just communicate on the surface. Looking back over the last 10 months I realize that Carol has respectfully guided me to a place where I can honor who I am and find a way to live in harmony with others in my life. It's a tricky balance, and I'm still working on it, but I have made progress. She has managed to provide insights that I had not seen on my own, because she listens and I believe truly cares about those she sees. I am very disappointed with my experience at Lighthouse, particularly with how my concerns…read moreregarding a psychiatric medication were handled. For over two weeks, I repeatedly tried to get a clear answer about whether I could receive a short bridge prescription to get me to an upcoming appointment with a new provider. When it became clear a refill might not be possible, I specifically asked for guidance on how to safely stop the medication. That guidance was never provided. Being left without direction regarding mental health treatment is unacceptable. I chose to leave this practice because I did not feel listened to by Dr. Westbrock. Diagnoses were mentioned without explanation, alternative causes were not meaningfully explored, and my concerns were largely dismissed. When I asked about further evaluation, I was told it would require several additional appointments and approximately $800 in fees, after already paying for the visit I was attending. The process felt more focused on billing than patient care. After securing a new provider, I contacted Lighthouse weeks in advance because I knew I would run out of medication before that appointment. I made it clear that I understood if a refill was not possible and that I was simply asking for guidance. Despite multiple attempts, my requested were ignored by Dr. Westbrock. Even after being told by the medical assistants this bridge refill should have been possible. Lighthouse medical assistants have reached out and apologized on behalf of the team. They stated the issue was with Dr. Westbrock and said that if I wanted a bridge now, three weeks later, they could forward me to the director. I appreciate the medical assistants who attempted to help every time I called. However, this situation should have been escalated to leadership much earlier, and at the end of the day Dr. Westbrock is employed by this office and his actions reflect the office. Overall, this experience left me feeling dismissed and unsupported at a critical moment in my care. The only reason I chose 2 stars instead of 1 was the medical assistants consistently trying their best. It is disappointing they are not listened to by their superiors. I am sharing this so others can make an informed decision when choosing providers.

She mixed up the co-pay amount for me and months later came back to tell me I owed money once I no longer had insurance. Carmen would call and leave voicemails threatening that if i didn't pay collections would take over. We played back and from phone tag before I didn't hear back from them. Fast forward 8 MONTHS. I hear back from them about the remaining balance. It sounds to me that they are not on top of the co-pay or remaining balance due. It shouldn't take months. I would be sure to be very clear when it comes to the payment due so that you do not get screwed over as I did. I hope they have gotten better since my situation.

During the call, I was on my way driving to work but Ling was sure patience enough to listen to me and gave me some information regarding what she does, recommended hypnotherapy and schedule me to come in to see her. So far I have gone through 3 sessions with her and she made me realize, opened up my mind and educated me on thinking more positively. As I entered I was warmly greeted and directed to my cousin's room. The front entry way was clean, organized and well lit. His room was close to the front. It's a 2 person room- the room was small with a bathroom and a curtain as a divider. Both sides have a bed, tv, phone, night stand, chair and a wardrobe closet. The room was clean when I went. While there, I observed the nurse and 2 students come in to administer antibiotics intravenously. They introduced themselves, explained what they were doing and asked if we had any questions. They were friendly and communicative. Before I left, I used the public restroom. It was very clean. Now here is what the patient (my cousin) has shared with me- " all of the staff- CNA's, nurses, nurse practitioner, etc are very competent and nice. I have a wound that needs attention daily and at 7am every morning they attend to it. They use gloves and maintain a clean environment for me. All of the staff have checked on me, asked if I need anything and offered assistance. The social worker is easy to reach and I've left messages for the provider and she gets back to me in a timely manner. I have nothing bad to say. It's an awesome facility. A place I will return to if the need arises. The food is good- serving portions are smaller than what I'm used to but I'm sure I'm used to overeating. Overall I am quite pleased with the way I've been treated"

Employee concerns about safety did not appear to be addressed consistently, leaving many feeling that both staff and patient well-being were not a priority. The lack of management support made these challenges even more difficult. Employees were frequently expected to handle complex and potentially dangerous situations with little guidance, communication, or backup from leadership. Overall, the work environment suffered from poor oversight, low morale, and a lack of accountability. I hope the organization takes meaningful steps to improve security, strengthen leadership, and create a safer workplace for both employees and patients.
