I have had this done before; I have even done it myself (not rocket science...). I own other shirts from this maker, in this size, and I know what needs to be done and about how much time it takes to do the job. First, I got an argument about how much to shorten the sleeves. That settled (I was wearing the same model shirt, with shortened sleeves, and it was easy to take a measurement...), I then was told, come back in a week. Not. First, someone needed a rush alteration on a wedding gown. Then there was this, then there was that. Several weeks later, two shirts were done -- but to the wrong length. One had been started -- I took it back and will finish the job myself. I ended up paying for the two that were done wrong, just to get out of there. I like the woman; she is a nice person, we share common interests, and I would be happy to have her as a neighbor. As a tailor, however, I cannot recommend her services.

I needed a suit and a few other garments dry cleaned right away for him to be dressed in for his services. I stopped in a cleaners close by to my home (I live in Amsterdam) on Friday and was told I wouldn't have the items back until the following Friday, when I needed them by this Sunday at the latest. I explained the situation that I had just lost a family member and needed the items right away for the services but it didn't seem to matter... I then called Best Cleaners on Route 50 in Glenville and their delivery driver had already picked up their orders for the day. They were very polite and apologetic and offered to transfer me to a different location with an in house cleaning service. I ended up at the Latham location, and THANK GOD for that. I spoke with Sal on the phone and he was nothing but professional and courteous, telling me if I was able to get the items there before closing time on that day (Friday) I could pick them up at whatever time I needed them THE NEXT DAY! He literally said, we open at 7 am so you tell me when you need them ready (unbelievably awesome and incredibly different from my first stop...) They were completely willing to work around MY schedule, for which I am extremely thankful. When I finally arrived (about 10 minutes before they closed) I dealt with Sal in person and he was extremely courteous and just plain awesome. He promised to take great care of the items and make them look great for my brother, and he absolutely delivered on his promise. I was able to pick up the suit the very next day (less than 24 hours later) with no issues at all. I can not say enough positive things about the Latham Best Cleaners and their service team, and especially about Sal. They do fantastic work and provide absolutely wonderful customer service. I had four items dry cleaned (suit coat, slacks, shirt & tie) in less than 24 hours and the price was extremely reasonable for such short notice. So in closing, THANK YOU BEST CLEANERS for being so freaking awesome and accommodating during such a difficult time for my family. I couldn't have been more impressed and happy to have met Paris who helped me right away get my clothing needs sorted and a pickup date to match. They always do a great job on my winter coat (Kenneth Cole black coat, unsure what it's called but more of a formal heavy coat) and they got the stain right out of my shirt. I also forgot about my coat/shirt for a few months until I was cleaning and looking for it. They weren't mad or anything and still had them like 3/4 months later. Very happy with these people. I try to get the wash in by 9. So it's not 24 hours but dry till 11 or so. It's the safest feeling of any laundromat around I've been to and my gf agrees. And most important the washers do a very good job as well as the dryers. Agree that the washers don't have a flood of water but if your a "spike your nearest tree" militant like me, you'll appreciate the water savings. I sometimes bring an extra gallon of my own. A small price to pay to save those dolphins! And I have no experience with the dry cleaning but who leaves drycleaning at a place that specializes in WET cleaning. A few years ago I probably over packed a washer and the soap didn't dissolve (yeah I'm double lame for using dry soap but...) When I picked the clothes, I mentioned I thought the prices were high. The person said well, we have discount codes sometimes. The next time I brought in clothes there was 20% off code that had been texted to me. When I picked up the clothes the person working there said the code was not working and she would call her manager and have it applied. After waiting a week and not seeing the credit, I called back and they said they can't give me a credit but would note in my acct 20% off next time. Instead of going back, I've found a cleaner with 20% lower prices and closer to me.
