Quite disappointed that I have to write this as a local member of the community and business owner. I have been performing work on the home behind the hotel for a few months now. This hotel is currently having repairs done to their roof. We recently had high winds and due to the negligence of the hotel their composite roof shingles were tossed everywhere within a few blocks of the hotel. Some of them caused damage to the brand new gutters and downspouts on the home I am remodeling. No effort was made by the hotels staff or owners to cleanup the neighborhood. Me and another contractor spent an hour collecting all the unsightly debris around the house and the neighbors after about a week of it being ignored. There are still shingles in the trees around the motel. I attempted to resolve the damage caused by their negligence and was shrugged off by the staff. I left my phone number and a receipt for the repairs as well as the dump fees and my time. I stopped in today, a week later and was handed my receipt with a note that said "Mr Kim says no, per Greg". No phone call, no efforts to explain why they feel they are not responsible. These people are clearly very cheap. The motel is in obvious need of repairs. Clearly they only care about profiting off of visitors and have no regard for the neighbors, the locals or the community. Well, I'm not the guy to be shrugged off while you profit. I have filed a police report and intend to take them to small claims court and request reimbursement for the repairs, dump fees and now missed wages for my time having to do this. These people don't care about their property or anyone else's. Support manzanita and its locals and stay away from this place. Stay elsewhere.

Had a great stay here, pre-Labor Day 2020 and then back in 2015. I had some friends visiting here and so I got my own room, to join their company. I splurged a bit getting a King Suite, mostly I wanted the view. So, when I entered my room I was stunned at how large my room was! It was like a small apartment. I was happy, kind of over the top, but it was peaceful and there were many large windows to look out at the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Check-in was simple, although they called a day before and the day of my arrival to make sure I was still coming, and gathered facts about any COVID-19 exposure and share their protocols. I had two pleasant sleeps here and the room was handy for walking to the beach and walking into town to grab a coffee or drink. King bed, sofa, TV, kitchenette with microwave, fridge, freezer, and a stove. Room included a coffeemaker and you had to get packets of coffee from the office by request. When I checked-in I automatically asked if I could get three coffee packets ahead of time. This was a smart idea v. heading downt to the lobby after waking and asking for coffee packets. Friendly guests on the property, it was COVID, so most wore masks, some didn't. Lovely, simple, a bit rustic. Good parking lot. Strong WIFI which worked well - I used it for my work computer.

This motel was comfy and clean. We were looking for a place with an ocean view that wouldn't break the bank and I stumbled on this lovely little gem right across from the beach. This place was the closest to the ocean we could find for miles. The rooms were cozy and have been updated with being repainted, new carpet and flooring. It had everything we could need. When we got there in the afternoon on a Satday they were almost full, and we got the last room a studio, room 39. I would recommend the room, it was upstairs with the most amazing view and was comfy and clean. I was pleasantly surprised by the vicinity to the beach and the awesome views when we got there. And beach access is really easy to get to; Just walk across the street! It also has a heated outdoor pool as well as being close to restaurants and shopping.

Desperate for a break and some zen, Princess and I loaded up the car and headed here for two nights ( Monday and Tuesday) during spring break. I had scoured the web at rather the last minute ( the Friday before) and was lucky enough to land a junior suite here for $90/night. Oceanfront. It's definitely budget friendly and therefore not all that luxurious. Room #32 is upstairs, over the pass to the parking lot, with people trooping back and forth to their rooms between us and the ocean view with frequency varying throughout the day. Lots of kids, including those on scooters and skateboards in the parking lot, were a whooping and a hollering. If you're looking for total quiet this might not be your spot. If you want windows open to hear the ocean this isn't your room. It had a sliding glass door entrance and windows right on the "hall". But there is a separate room with a queen bed perfect for sticking kids in, and a tiny kitchen with a fridge, sink, microwave, and electric skillet.Plenty of Ikea flatware, glassware, and dishes. The critically important corkscrew. Everything was clean. The bathroom was fine. No couch or easy chair ( another queen bed in the main space) but a table with four chairs perfect for meals and board games. We brought scrabble but I noticed they had games in the office. There is a flatscreen tv with cable so my teen didnt miss izombie. Wifi is present but verrrrry slowwwwww. This frustrated the teen so I handed her a backup real book. All good. Sunset Surf is close to Marzano's pizza and their convenient walkup pickup window, and an espresso place with ice cream and breakfast items in case you're not into cooking. If you are, apparently some of the rooms have ovens ( another guest at the desk showed up with an enormous homemade lasagna he planned to reheat for a family gathering). I think this motel is totally worth exploring when looking for a place to stay in Manzanita. The best part? the ocean was freaking RIGHT THERE. Can't beat that with a piece of driftwood. P.S. Pet friendly and heated outdoor pool in summer.

This place is a dump. Our room smelt like a cocktail of mold and dirt. I would highly discourage anyone from staying here.

Lovely remodel! Love that each room has a record player. The beds were comfy. Loved the microwave…read moreand mini fridge in the rooms. The showers were just ok. Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed a comfortable stay here at The Spinn this weekend. It is perfectly located to…read moreeverything, just steps from the beach to the left and steps to shops to the right. There's plenty of parking, and check in was super easy, you go up to a counter in the Cafe & they assign your phone number as your code for your keypad on your door. Though, the cafe was super busy when we arrived & another set of guests arrived right after me and stood closer up my arse than even my husband. The rooms are spacious and I really like the vibe in them. The dark, textured soundboard wall is great, the lighting is dimmable and moody, and having a Jack Johnson record & player in the room is a magical touch. The room is stocked with plenty of towels (thank you! Why isnt this always the case?!) and extra bedding and pillows for the sofa bed. Robes, again a magical touch. The soaps are great quality, and all have a nice matching scent. For being pet friendly (I'm not a dog fan + I have asthma) I was worried when I booked it, but there wasn't a trace of dog in our room, yay! The bedding is very comfy, the mattress and pillows good! Only downfall is that the metal bed creaks pretty bad, in our room at least. A sound like nails on a chalkboard when you toss and turn in your sleep. I dont see an ice machine available & I wish hotels would start providing bottled water or some sort of drinking water system, because the only option for water is tap from the bathroom or the super spendy boutique grocery up the street. There was a super random, strong unpleasant scent in our room one day, but by the time we had opened the doors to air it out, it was pretty much gone. But my biggest challenge here was the thin walls. You can hear everything, even with it all being one level. We have two kids, so we're understanding to noise, but some people, including those booked right next to us, parent differently because they let their kid stomp and bounce around alllll day and night. I mean it. I finally got to sleep and then woke up to pee at 11:30pm, still heard the bouncing & then heard the dad say "enough, go to bed!". At $200/night with fees, it's an expensive stay for what you get, comparatively to stays at other beaches. A lux bed & breakfast in Lincoln City, or hotels with pools, saunas, cookies in the lobby, wine & cheese hour, fire pits and with ocean views..BUT you're in Manzanita. The options are limited to none so you get what's available & they don't have any of that here. Homes, hotels, rentals, food, etc. are all high price. It's a wonderful relaxed town and the beach is gorgeous and my favorite on the coast. Stay if that's what you're looking for and you don't mind splurging a little extra for basics to be here.
