Family booked this hotel for proximity to the beach and activities. Unfortunately, this seemingly charming inn is unsafe and unwelcoming. We ended up going elsewhere.

I especially appreciated the variety of dining options, along with the on-site shops, café, and sundry market. What surprised me most, though, was how genuinely pleasant and eager to help everyone was. Housekeepers greeted us warmly whenever we passed by, and the valet team welcomed us back each time we returned to the property. That level of hospitality really stood out. A special shoutout to a few team members who made our stay even more memorable: Jen and Mike at the front desk patiently answered all our questions and took great care of our needs. Ben at Pete's was incredibly warm and attentive -- he made us feel like we were hanging out at a favorite neighborhood bar. Bu at Watertable quickly remembered our preferences after we dined there two nights in a row, which was such a thoughtful touch. And M and K at the spa (I wish I could remember their full names!) were so accommodating, even though we arrived just an hour before closing. My friends and I can't wait to come back. This place is truly a gem in Huntington Beach. Thank you for the memories!

We all felt like we were in Cabo with beachfront views and cute little balconies where you can just sit and soak up the oceanview and the sun. Rooms are very clean and everyone is very polite. Great blue color tones, and the Rooftop Bar was nice on the top of the second property. We were situated on the 12th floor which is the highest one. The hotel does have a few faults. The parking is $55 which is absurd; I know the location but still cannot forgive any place where you stay that charges their guests for parking whatever the fee is and this was really high. The beds and pillows are terrible pretty much like every single hotel I stay from 50 to $500 a night. The shower pressure is weak. The cabo wabo restaurant inside the hotel which we had a breakfast in the morning was the worst breakfast buffet I've eaten in my life. It was abysmal and makes Best Western's breakfast look like a Ritz-Carlton feast... yes it was that bad. Avoid the buffet portion of the restaurant like the plague trust me on this one. The gorgeous property location balcony pool and overall experience of the hotel kept the rating high as it is truly a magnificent resort feel and you don't feel like you're anywhere near Los Angeles. Walking in the morning beachside and surrounded by lush gardens and beautiful homes. Huntington Pier is about half a mile away with wonderful cafes restaurants and eateries, without the grueling uphill/downhill slope at the main Manhattan Beach pier area. Unfortunately, an additional 35 miles away. Very enjoyable refreshing and surreal experience even with the pesky minor flaws. A total zoo with children everywhere from one month to 10 years and there was a wedding so be prepared. The rooftop lounge was nice and comfy, had a fun night there with mixed food. The beef sliders were beyond awful but the chicken sliders were terrific.... the drinks barely have alcohol in them that's a good thing for a light drinker like me/us. The verdict: a pleasant and enjoyable stay for the fantastic room and resort style view of the beach

I wish I would never booked my Birthday trip at this facility…read more The worse experience I have ever had from the moment I got there. we have booked a room on the top floor; however, they didn't accommodate it. We arrived to a room with no shampoo nor shower gel available and we couldn't even take a shower to rest. Next day the cleaning crew even didn't put any and we had to wait until next day afternoon to get them in our room. Just being big with every possible amenities doesn't mean to be the best. Customer Satisfaction should be your number one goal which unfortunately, was not this facility's case. The parking supposed to be included when we booked, but again another disappointment and we were charged. Each and every place has a designated area for the smokers. As much as the smokers are respecting non-smokers, we deserve to be respected. We paid the same what others paid for their stay. A facility as big as an entire block had no section for smokers. This is so disrespectful, so preferential and totally unacceptable. Last but not least, we have asked if we could receive a late checkout, and they didn't have the dignity to at least honor that to us and declined our request. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Can't beat the location of the hotel. It's steps away from the beach, boardwalk, bars, restaurants, and other local shops. Everything about the hotel and my room catered to my likes. I had a large double queen with partial views of the ocean. I thought it was cool that they offered a cooler, which would be useful to take out to the beach. The open walk-in shower was made for washing off sand, and I loved that my bathroom also had a tub as well as amenities ready to go for a relaxing salt bath. I used the in-room record player whenever I got the chance. Each room had its own unique record too. My room had Lynard Skynard, but I saw that there was an extensive record library in the lobby for swapping out the music. That said, I opted to use the bluetooth function of the record player to set the mood for my space. As cliche as this sounds, I was in room 311 and played 311 while watching the sunset from my balcony. Lastly, as a yoga instructor I was pleasantly surprised to find a yoga mat in my closet. I also noticed that they offered yoga at 9am on Sundays and provided in-room yoga on the TV. I'd certainly come back to Kimpton Shorebreak next time I stay at Huntington Beach!

The resort fee included bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, and s'mores kits! Nightly complimentary wine hour and yoga classes Sunday mornings. The police substation is kitty corner from the back of the hotel too so felt safe! Saw several police cars parked there Saturday afternoon. Hotel parking was expensive but everyone in our group easily found plenty of free overnight parking around the hotel (less than a block from the hotel) on early Saturday afternoon, even though it was a sunny beach perfect day with lot of beach goers. If you're older, this may not be the hotel for you bc it tends to get noisy on Main St & the hotel itself seems to be geared toward 20 something guests or perhaps families visiting with children.

This was our first stay at the Pasea and so much of it was great!…read more PROS We bought our two young dogs and two kids and it was a great experience traveling with them! First of all, the people who work here are so nice! Peter was always smiling and giving the dogs treats (with permission every time). I swear they started looking for him- and they're pretty anxious around people. There are no dogs allowed in the pool area which I get but it makes it a little tough to juggle the kids wanting to swim for hours and not leaving the dogs unattended in the room. The beds were comfy and they have a built in sound machine system and it was the first time I have ever see that! I loved it! I struggle to sleep in hotels but wasn't bothered by any noise. The hotel is right across from the beach and next to an outdoor shopping mall. We walked to and from multiple times on our trip and it was nice to be close by! They also have beach chairs, towels and sand toys to borrow! They have adult bikes but nothing for the kids so we didn't utilize those. The restaurant is good with dog friendly seating and gluten free options. We had dinner there only. CONS the dog park is so cute and convenient but it wasn't sprayed off at all while we were there and since it was plastic grass, there was poo smeared all over the place. It was hard to find a spot to stand and you hope your dog doesn't walk through it. It also smells like warm pee. We were still grateful for it but I think a small patch of real grass would have been less gross! The fee for dogs is $150 a night and that adds up quickly! The bathrooms are not practical for families. They don't lock, the toilet room has fogged clear glass with big gaps so no one could be in the bathroom getting ready or showering if anyone else was in the toilet room. Also, there was a slider on the outside of the shower that allows the entire room to see you in the shower which was odd. I understand the desire for this if it was a couples trip but why not have the sliding door on the inside so the naked person can make the decision rather than anyone on the outside deciding to open it mid-shower? Parking is a whopping $60 a night plus there is only valet which means you either tip every single time you pull your car in or out or you feel like a jerk. The valet guys were great and we wanted to tip everyone but ran out of small cash bills quickly. We stayed two nights and had to pull our car out 4 times which is 8 tips. When you're paying $120 to park that's crazy! The jacuzzi is just warm not hot and the jets when on are cold! That was bummer. Overall I don't think we will return because there are so many awesome hotels in the area to try but we did enjoy our stay and found it worth the money! The Shorebreak Hotel doesn't charge for dogs so we will be going there next time!

F tourists and F this place. My wife loves it. I will try to get her to not go anymore. Lastly, I wanted to drive.....and if we would have that would have changed everything. Customer service and cleanliness was a 5/5. Only reason we'd give a 4 is the fact that our door was finicky, the AC unit was very loud, body soap was watered down, and conversations/street traffic can be heard clearly. Of course it's a little run down, but given the amazing benefits, this place is a gem. The small gym I peeked in didn't have a Peloton bike. Boo. The room was a good size but the carpet was a bit damp near the bathroom. No complaints with lots of lights, outlets, and a good shower pressure. It also has a microwave, which you don't find many these days in rooms. The breakfast ain't no Hyatt Place. It had bacon, those powder looking eggs, and one quiche (saving grace for this meal) as the three hot meals, but it was sufficient to head out to my business meetings. I didn't check out the pool - was only here for one night.

Easy access to a major freeway helps you travel to other notable spots in the area. I had booked directly through Marriott, so was able to digitally check-in via their app, which made check-in on the day of arrival easy. Richard pleasantly greeted me, was prompt and professional - handed me my room keys, brief overview of the hotel, and pointed towards where the elevators are. He also handed me a little goody bag for being a Rewards member (albeit at a pathetically low tier, lol). My room requests for view/away from elevator was acknowledged. The room is larger than your average hotel room - sorta more like a studio setup. There's living space with a sofa that converts to a trundle bed, workstation with chair, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave, and then of course the bed and bathroom. It's nice to have a mini fridge/microwave since that's an amenity that a lot of hotels are doing away with. The fridge didn't have any controls to make it colder - but I imagine it's linked to the room's power system, which btw requires you to insert your room key into a slot near the door to enable power to your room. AC worked well - it's a loud wall unit, but you're in HB - the weather is relatively mild/comfortable most of the year, at least it was during my stay - so I didn't really need to use the AC for long. I just turned it on to see how loud it was/how easy it would be to manage to climate settings. Bed was comfy. More than enough pillows with four decent sized ones for my King bed. The lights on both sides of the bed are individually controllable - great if you're traveling with someone who doesn't share the same sleep schedule as you. Bathroom has a sliding door - no lock - something to keep in mind if traveling with someone. There isn't a solid partition either - the door has a frosted glass enclosure. Water pressure and temperature throughout my stay was great - no issues. There aren't individual toiletries anymore, just the bulk dispensers which I'm not a fan of - luckily, I just travel with my own toiletries. Complimentary breakfast was okay - nothing notable. I had the last crustless quiche - and that wasn't refilled for the rest of the morning. Waffle machine, cereal, powdered eggs, pork sausage, and a giant vat of oatmeal (with all the fixins on the side). Property itself has a lot of nice community areas. Decently equipped fitness center. No pool. A open air terrace on the 2nd floor with a giant chess board, pool table, a few lounges throughout the first floor with comfy seating. Security is great. All rooms are interior accessible, meaning their doors don't face outside. You have to walk past the front desk to get to the elevators. All side entrances are accessible only by swiping your room key, and the front doors lock after a certain time. Great if you're concerned about safety/traveling alone. *** I'm knocking off a star from my otherwise great stay because of the obnoxious parking fee of $15/night. I can't see why they would charge $15 for parking considering the area. Bella Terra is across the street, but I've never seen their lot completely full (which would cause people to overflow into other lots) - even on Black Friday. You're not remotely close to any of the major theme parks like Disney or Knotts. There was plenty of empty parking spaces in the lot when midnight rolled around. It just seems like a greedy cash grab "because they can". Usually, these extended stay brands offer complimentary parking, since some of their guests tend to stay for longer visits. $15 for parking just makes for a bad note on an otherwise pleasant stay. ***
