Windows covered up... and the outside seating has been removed. Remolding or closed for good??

The windows are covered with cardboard, and the Parklet outdoor seating has been removed. Are they closed for remodeling or permanently?

28th & O, where dumb skaters skate down

As boring as it is ... because it's just walking around the block, it's really nice and relaxing. Bring your kids, grandparents, dogs, friends. They have small walk ways going up and around the hill of 28/27th street & Ortega. At the corner, there are few benches if you need to sit. Across the street from Lincoln HS, corner of 24th & Q, there's a mini playground for babies & toddlers. So keep a close eye on gone kids. Only thing I hate is, stupid skateboarders would skate down from 24th & O and 28th & O, no care in the world. Like . If you want to die, don't do in front of me and my nieces. I don't want them to be traumatized. I'm sure other drivers feel the same. They think they're so cool, filming and skate boarding, practicing their tricks. But it's damn dangerous, risking their own lives.

** The following review reflects my experience prior to the shelter-in-place order currently in effect. ** This review isn't about the city's largest source of water nor the neighborhood brewpub that draws in local families. Nope, this is about the narrow green space that surrounds the fenced-in reservoir which takes up four-by-two blocks on a gradual hillside. There are paved walkways and benches to rest your tootsies. I only noticed it as I was walking from Taraval to Judah and saw several dog walkers headed in this direction. It offers a unique viewpoint that provides a panorama toward Ocean Beach as well as a distant gander at the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm not able to return during shelter-in-place since it exceeds the five-mile radius from my home, but locals should stop by and appreciate what they have in their backyard. Strolling after lunch in cloudy Sunset.

The Sunset Res. is great if you want to get a quick walk in after lunch or to walk your dog. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk around the whole thing which comes out to be 1 mile. There are plenty of benches along the way if you would like to just sit and relax. As you walk onto the higher ground of this roundabout, you'll be able to see a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, lots of houses, and a view into Richmond district. Also, that's a ton of solar panels you'll see inside the reservoir. There are a few doggy waste bag bins along the walk too in case you forgot to bring your own. The walk is quiet and not much people so it can be relaxing. P.S. There is a geocache here ;)

Nice landscaping and great views make the Sunset Reservoir my number one locale thus far for taking the dog out for a walk. Rolling hills of grass along with flowery foliage line the paths that cascade around the reservoir. The views of the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge are highlights that can be enjoyed from the upper vantage points.

Covering a huge area in the Sunset, it is the pumping station. They placed plants and a playground to make their place more presentable. It is a very nice touch. What would make it better is not having their staff just sitting around the entrance and blocking the streets.

Sunset district with amazing views of the sunset - how apt. This is definitely one of my favourite places to just chill and look at the sunset (since I'm staying pretty close by). There are plenty of benches and you get to see people with kids and dogs walking by. Despite so, it is usually serene and quiet. It may get a little windy on some days (it's the Sunset district, were you expecting something else? lol) so definitely have a jacket or windbreaker handy just in case. On clear days, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge peek out from far away.

I'm here often to pick up large stacks of books, and let me just say- the SFPL app is game changing for me as a busy teacher. I follow a bunch of librarian/teacher influencers, and the moment they rave about a new title, I'm on the app placing my hold. Picking up books is fast and painless. Everything is always ready in one spot in alphabetical order- scan your library card, stack your books on the check out pad, and the machine takes care of the rest. Get a receipt printed or emailed. Now, is it a little chaotic being surrounded by middle schoolers using all the computers? Sure. But honestly, I'm glad they have a safe, supervised place to hang out. And let's talk about the real bonus: the Mister Softee and Magic Frosty trucks often parked out front. Free books plus ice cream? That's an unbeatable combo. Overall, Ortega Library is a gem. busy, messy, joyful, and incredibly useful. They do a ton of community events also. Your library card also gets you free museum perks, which I still need to explore but love knowing exist.

My car window was smashed, so I went to report it. Officer Finau was completely useless. Worse, he was manipulative. Nothing was stolen from my car since it was empty. While I insisted that he make a police report, Finau was completely lazy. He kept saying that most likely, they aren't going to find the perp, and that it's not worth my time to make a report since insurance is covering the damage, and nothing was stolen. I kept insisting that I wanted a police report to be made. He gave me a form and said that I should really think if I want to make a report or not, and if I decide to go through with it, to come back on a day that he's working so he can continue to help me. The whole thing was super suspicious and raised some alarms in my head. Why is this officer so insistent on me not filling out a report? Is the Taraval station secretly receiving a payout from the car break in people? I immediately went to the Mission police station to file a police report. The cops in the Mission police station were great and professional. I showed the form that Finau gave me to the Mission police station, and the officer told me that whoever gave me that form, gave me the wrong form. She never saw a form like that before. The Mission police station took my report, and I was out of there in 30 minutes without having to waste my time with someone trying to convince me not to make a report. Online, I found out that Finau and many other Taraval officers are making $200,000 a year. Huge waste of taxpayer dollars to pay lazy cops who don't want to do the bare minimum.

But I can't shake off the disappointment that it doesn't offer any features making it anything more than ordinary, and it's quite small, so it does get crowded easily. I did get my chocolate fix here this past Sunday though, so can't complain too much about the diversity of events held here.
