My son was heartbroken we left his stuffie behind. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. The pool was great, the s'mores and fire pit were great. The breakfast was great. We loved the seating in the evening to bring dinner back and enjoy at a table near the lobby. The hotel was clean. We will be back again :)

Saturday night the guests had taken over the entire breakfast seating area with crockpots of food and delivery pizza. I wish we would've made friends and ate with them instead of next-door at the Farmhouse Restaurant. It was terrible. I wrote a different review on that. We booked a 2 queen room for our family of 3. The room was spacious and had a view of the woods and walking trail behind the hotel. There was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We did have problems with our door unlocking, but it was no issue. The main reason we stayed here was for the pool. The pool is 3'6" deep with a basketball goal and water spraying into it. There is a kitty pool that was 1 foot deep and two small slides. There was also a hot tub that went indoor and outdoor Saturday night the hot tub was too hot for my son to get in but Sunday morning it was warm. Lots of kids in the hot tub. The pool is not heated. It was pretty cold. I preferred the hot tub temperature. The staff at check-in and check out were both very friendly. They do a continental breakfast with two waffle makers. My son loved making his own waffles. They also had scrambled eggs, sausage, links, ham, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, oatmeal, and cereal. Plus a machine with orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and water and of course there was a coffee. We enjoyed our stay! As loud as the hotel was Saturday night. I expected to be woke up by kids running down the hallway or slamming doors and I'm happy to say we all slept all night. Great destination hotel.

The room itself was outdated and although relatively clean, there were some obvious stains on the carpet, a missing grab bar in the shower, and the worst part was a terrible odor. We noticed the odor as we walked down the hall and it only got worse once we were in our room. It smelled of old, stale smoke but worse. We got in late and should have addressed this with the front desk, but didn't want to start moving rooms late at night. I carry Lysol with me when I travel and used that to freshen the room up, but it was only a temporary fix. I would have liked to sleep with the window open for some fresh air but didn't feel safe being that our room was right next to the walkway on the first floor. I was also unimpressed with the morning breakfast and want to note that there was a leaky roof the night we stayed which was dripping right into the breakfast area. The hotel used a towel on the floor to absorb the falling water, but there was no caution sign to warn guests to avoid the area. It's also important to note that Remington, Indiana is officially in the Central Time Zone, however, unofficially Remington observes the Eastern Time Zone. (This is due to Remington's school district being located in White County which is in the Eastern Time Zone). We were informed of this at check-in, but it is rather confusing and worth noting to be sure the room clock is set to Eastern Time since that is the time the hotel uses for check-in/out as well as breakfast hours. Our phones never changed out of Central time, so we had to depend on the hotel clock to be sure we were on the correct local time. Overall, not a great experience. I don't expect a budget hotel to have the same quality as a 4-star hotel, but they should be clean, odor free, and safe. I chose this hotel because I knew we would literally only be sleeping there and would be in/out in less than 10 hours, but the $96 I paid would have been better applied to the cost of the hotel next door.

After checking the reviews on other sites for this place, people noted it was clean but I had to experience it for myself since my perceptions of clean may not be the same for others (i.e., that mine are much higher), however the reviews were true. I will definitely consider this place for another stay if I'm passing through again. To give you some context, I was on a business trip and needed a place to stay one night with a project assistant. I booked a room with 2 queen beds which was under $100 for a night. For that price, I was a bit skeptical about cleanliness and service, but the stay was great. The staff were kind and quickly checked us in. They even dealt kindly with my government tax exemption paperwork. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place to others.

The hotel is within walking distance of parks, art, and a variety of dining options. The room I stayed in was large and spacious. The couch was comfortable, and the footrests were a perfect accent. The workspace separated the sleep and resting area. The closet was deep and long with mirrored sliding doors. The wet bar area was to my left as I entered the room. Mindy was so kind at the front desk, and Conner was chatty and professional as he attended the breakfast area.

The lobby was packed with kids and there was an adult, at the desk, with a laptop out trying to figure out rooms with the employees. I stood there a couple minutes trying to figure out if I could go around all the kids and check in. I finally did and thankfully the other employee was able to pull away from the laptop and get our room. Parking was fine and we got unloaded with a cart. Getting the cart through the lobby with all the kids wasn't easy. Not the hotel's fault they didn't understand moving aside when asked. We got to the room which looked nice. We quickly discovered the door to the hallway was very thin. You could hear everything from the hallway. The bathroom has a sliding door and definitely was not sound proof at all. Everything else about the room was fine. At around 1:00am there was a group of people in the hallway. Woke all of us up and we were about to call and complain when they finally moved on. Breakfast was packed! I felt bad for the one employee trying to keep everything stocked. He was running around doing the best he could. We managed to squeeze into one small table, which was the only one available. Could this hotel have potential, yes! Try to avoid a youth retreat group stopping the same time.
