My family needed a place to stay at the last minute and Terry helped me find the perfect option for all 9 of us to stay. We were able to walk to Indiana Beach. You are within 200 yards of the park's entrance, which was so convenient. By being a guest at Bay Side Resort, you also received a generous discount into the park. The property had paddle boats and kayaks that were free to use. This was something the whole family participated in, and was an added perk that no other rental offered. There is a giant deck for all residents to enjoy without feeling cramped. They offered a multitude of grills (gas/charcoal) so we were able to enjoy grilling out as a family which also saved us money by being able to avoid an expensive restaurant. They are located on a quiet bay area that has minimal big boat traffic, so the family was able to swim in Lake Shafer, along with boating. If you don't want to swim in the lake, the property also had a large swimming pool and hot tub. There is a convenient marina located across the bay, so if you need to rent a boat or wave runner you had that option as well. There was also a huge fire pit that is free to use at your leisure. The inside of the house we rented was rustically beautiful. It had a full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink. The bathroom had a walk in shower. The particular house we had included a queen, full, set of bunk, and futon beds. Overall the experience was wonderful. We highly recommend to anyone looking for an awesome place to stay. Terry and Jackie were amazing, give them a call!!

Spider webs were so bad and they positioned the beds closed to them. The bed frame gave in on my my wife. They stapled straps to hold wood underneath the mattress together. We booked a 2 bedroom suite with access to a grill for cooking. Our grill was literally located in the gravel parking lot of the resort. The room was filthy and there was an infestation of yellow jackets under the porch light of our suite. The air conditioner broke on our second day. The maintenance man finally came at 10:30 at night to attempt to fix it. He cleaned the filter and told us to let them know if it is not cooler by morning. It was 88 degrees in the main room at 10:30 at night, and even worse in the other rooms. When we told him that was unacceptable, he got angry and yelled at us about going to buy a new air conditioner from walmart. I told him that he should go buy one becauase we cannot stay in rooms this hot. They wouldn't move us to an empty room because they said that their cleaner didn't finish cleaning any of the rooms that day, so there were no clean rooms available. THe maintenance man finally returned with a new air condidtioner, and installed it. This air conditioner worked. However, in the process of installing it in a rage, he cut himselft. THere was blood on the wall and on the door. While removing the old air conditioner, it leaked dirty water all over the floor and the futon. He replaced the futon and tried to wipe off the water on the floor with a bath towel. He left he blood for us to clean up though!. To top if off, the front desk said they would clean it up when we left. This place should be shut down. Disgusting, filthy, infested and incredibly rude staff. I am giving this place 1 star because it won't let me give zero stars.

Gross. Don't stay here…read more I grew up here and have attended events and stayed here many times on trips home; I thought I knew what I was getting with a small-town hotel like this. I was wrong. I've previously stayed in the main hotel (lodge) near the lobby without issue. Sure, it's outdated and a little musty, but it's a lakeside hotel that caters to summer crowds with kids fresh out of the lake and allows dogs. You can't expect it to be anything else. This trip, I was put at the very back of the property in a separate building surrounded by men (I'm a woman traveling alone and expressed concern about this). There wasn't another vehicle anywhere near the main building. My dogs are with me, as they've been on previous stays, and the front desk woman said these are the only dog-friendly rooms available. Fine. The room is disgusting. The floor is filthy (my disgusting socks prove it), the bathtub is cracked, the smoke detector is covered in plastic wrap, paint is chipped and peeling, the door doesn't seal properly, the towels are a gross beige from use - the list keeps going. I will not be returning for my second booked night and would have bailed immediately if it weren't late on a Sunday with no other options available.

Not a "resort". More like a truck stop, roadside motel…read more I'll start with the positives: Sheets were clean and no bed bugs. That's it. The rest of the room was awful Dated (looks like a hotel from my childhood and I'm 45!) Dirty! Dirty walls, mold in fridge, dirty cups, dirty walls, phone, etc Gap around door which leads directly outside When I opened the wrapped soap, it was wet inside Towels have holes Ice bucket was wet and dirty Room keys are recycled - they used white out to cover the old room number and write my room number This is a disgusting place for over $100 a night! We did not go to the pool or the breakfast.

We forgot a couple times so I had to run to the little store and grab them they have the basic stuff and really it's not priced horrible. The splash pad area was amazing and my 20 month old loved it. They had more than enough chairs for people to seat at. We will be back for sure! Thing that we didn't like The putt putt is over a lot of water so we didn't play it with having a small walking little it didn't feel safe also the pool even in the summer closes at 8 because it has to be staffed with a lifeguard for summer it's just a little early. But I also understand they are mostly high school summer help. Outside of that amazing and like I said we will be back!

The sites are fairly wide and it doesn't feel like you are on top of everyone. Pool is well kept. They did have special events scheduled for the kids which was nice to see. It would be nice if they would add a dog park. They have two huge open areas that they could do that with. Each site does have cable TV as well.
