Gross. Don't stay here. I grew up here and have attended events and stayed here many times on trips home; I thought I knew what I was getting with a small-town hotel like this. I was wrong. I've previously stayed in the main hotel (lodge) near the lobby without issue. Sure, it's outdated and a little musty, but it's a lakeside hotel that caters to summer crowds with kids fresh out of the lake and allows dogs. You can't expect it to be anything else. This trip, I was put at the very back of the property in a separate building surrounded by men (I'm a woman traveling alone and expressed concern about this). There wasn't another vehicle anywhere near the main building. My dogs are with me, as they've been on previous stays, and the front desk woman said these are the only dog-friendly rooms available. Fine. The room is disgusting. The floor is filthy (my disgusting socks prove it), the bathtub is cracked, the smoke detector is covered in plastic wrap, paint is chipped and peeling, the door doesn't seal properly, the towels are a gross beige from use - the list keeps going. I will not be returning for my second booked night and would have bailed immediately if it weren't late on a Sunday with no other options available. read more

Not a "resort". More like a truck stop, roadside motel. I'll start with the positives: Sheets were clean and no bed bugs. That's it. The rest of the room was awful Dated (looks like a hotel from my childhood and I'm 45!) Dirty! Dirty walls, mold in fridge, dirty cups, dirty walls, phone, etc Gap around door which leads directly outside When I opened the wrapped soap, it was wet inside Towels have holes Ice bucket was wet and dirty Room keys are recycled - they used white out to cover the old room number and write my room number This is a disgusting place for over $100 a night! You get what you pay for the price. The pool was right outside my back door. The staff was very nice and helpful. Would have like to see more in the vending machines. They were pretty empty. Continental breakfast was not great. But again-place was super-reasonably priced. So very good for the price. I'd go back. It was peaceful and quiet most of the weekend. No crowds to fight at the pool. read more

If there was a negative star that's exactly what this hotel deserves! I have stayed here so many times and have never experienced this kind of service! I have always stayed at the resort and when I booked online I apparently booked at their lodge! We get to our room which looks like a run down super 8 and immediately I am appalled. The room has so much damage everywhere and stinks! We have no blankets just a fabric top cover sheet and a sheet. I call to see if we can be moved into the resort and let them know how terrible the experience and room was already. The woman who answered states there are blankets in the drawer... we look and of course there are none! She then says I can change your room but I will have to charge you more. I ask if there is any way to get a discount because this room is not a 4 star hotel room it's more like a 1 star hotel.She says no she can not do that. My options were she says a full refund or pay for a new room.I told her I would be finding another hotel and come get a refund. She then calls the room 5 minutes later while we are packing back up and booking a new hotel asking if we are coming up because she is waiting. After we left .4 miles down the road we realized we left a dress because we were rushed. We called to get the door opened to get it and he said yes. We then pull to our room once again and no one is there. We call again and a man answered the phone and asked us to wait a minute. He comes back and says can you drive up to the front and at this point we are exhausted and angry we tell him no we literally asked you and you said you would meet us by the door. He then walks out and opens the door and we grab our dress and leave. I recommend the Best western! Yes it is a little more expensive but at least we have blankets and a nice room! read more

NOTHING like shown in the pictures. The pictures are old and come from the resort. YOU are going to be housed in the run-down motel next door unless you want to UPGRADE and double your price. We stayed for 1 night and slept with our clothes on. Enjoy a light "Breakfast" ?? If you want stale dried-out mini muffins. Thats it. Again, nothing like the pictures. This place is on its way to demolition. The LODGE is actually a different motel that went belly up and we suspect this place bought it for the rooms. Not nice rooms either. Right as we came here we got such a bad feeling. Looked like bed bugs and it said it fits 5 people but it only fits 3. False advertisement. In the pictures it looked like a hotel and it even said "hotel" but it's actually a Motel and disgusting as hell. 1 star. read more

We've been staying here for 25 yrs but this might be our last. ever since the new owners took over its been going downhill. They dont put any mony into fixing it up. The hot tubs been broken for 3 years, the pool is cold but clean. The dont do any landscaping. weeds everywhere. Breakfast is a joke. We booked room 3 months in advanced and wanted them together but when we got there we didnt get them together. They unplug everything so when you get in your room I guess you suppose to know to look under the cabinet to turn the fridge on. I even told the guy the fridge didn't work and he just looked at me. Maybe he didn't understand me. So sad because it was our family tradition to go there and we like the hotel lay out but it's getting so run down. read more

My wife and daughter booked a room. Arrived and got to the room to find a bed with a sheet and no blanket. Requested a blanket and they told her to make a room upgrade or leave. How is this professional. The room overall was in very rough shape. Very disappointed. read more

After a huge disappointment over at the cottages (at the Amusement park) we reserved and decided not to stay, we needed to find an alternate place to stay for my family of five. We first tried the Best Western which looks lovely but was too expensive for two rooms for two nights, so we tried the Pine View. It was 6 pm on a Sunday night, on the end of 4th July weekend so we were worried nothing was available on such short notice. The woman at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. We booked two rooms next to one another. The rooms are dated as is the entire hotel but they were clean and comfortable. This morning we will go to the Amusement park and possibly drive home (2 hours) changing our plans. Not sure what we will do at this point. read more

I made my reservation on the phone with a staff member and then I was charged a $15 booking fee on my credit card. When I called to Question it, I was told to call back and speak to a manager. I called back and was transferred to "the Manager" who told me she was new and couldn't help. I kept calling until I got someone that would speak to me. She told me I was charged the fee because I booked online. I DID NOT book online. I told her I felt like something shady was going on and I wanted a refund so I could go somewhere else. She then told me I was shady because I was questioning the $15 fee. Looking at images of this hotel, it does not look worth the $182 I would have paid and I will NEVER stay somewhere with a staff that lies and kept putting off my phone call over a $15 fee. read more

After riding 46 miles on bicycles into a head/cross wind the Pine View was a welcome site. The hotel had the room we requested and checked us in right away. Worst place ever. I don't think they swept the room because there was food under the stuffed chair. The drain stopper for the sink was missing so I had to put a wash cloth over it so nothing would accidentally fall down the drain. Breakfast was terrible. Store bought donuts. Bread to make toast but no butter to put on it. Only 2 choices for cereal and one of those being Raisin Bran. We had to go buy our own cereal. There was no artificial sweetener. The breakfast area was not kept clean and when I was going to get some orange juice there wasn't enough there. Things were not refilled. The hot tub was out of order the whole time we were there. Usually motels will leave you a pad of paper to use but here we got 4 sheets of paper. When I booked on line the description I received was that we were suppose to have a sofa and coffee maker which we had neither. They tried to say that was only if you had a suite. All I can say this was not worth $135 a night. Will never stay here again. I would rather stay in Logansport and drive to Monticello. read more

We stayed at the lodge part of the resort (main building) over memorial weekend, which is before the summer rates hit. Overall, it was a pleasant place. When you walk in it is very welcoming and cozy. Ladies working the front desk are incredibly helpful and kind. Linda, one of them, is a hoot and we would come back JUST to see her again! The pool is very nice, but small and filled with kids. The breakfast room is very nice, but breakfast is very simple- just continental stuff and the coffee leaves a lot to be desired (try to upgrade that coffee!). The hot tub is very nice as well, but kids are allowed in it, so that was annoying. The rooms are very clean, but older. The bathroom evidently had been upgraded/remodeled. Beds are very old.... they were tough to sleep in. Overall, it's a really nice place and we will surely come back, but it won't be in the summer when prices are crazy. read more

New beds would help. BUT, after asking for one, the friendly people at the desk switched me rooms, and I slept quite well. I love the fact that it's family owned, and it shows, from the faces at the desk, to my older, but still nice room, all the way back in the lodge. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! I stay at this hotel about 6-7 times per year for business, and the reason I keep coming back is because of the friendly staff and service, and low price. It's a small town hotel, and it does seem like there is some maintenance that needs to be done, but I am always comfortable, the billing process is simple, and the basic complimentary breakfast is enough for my needs. My room has always been clean, and any issues I have had were addressed immediately. I would imagine this would be a great option for families visiting Indiana Beach park since it's right down the street, and it's affordable. I did notice that the golf course behind the resort was looking a bit rough and overgrown on my last visit, but I don't know much about it. Might be worth asking about if that's a reason you're staying here. read more

This place is pure disgusting. My hotel room had no cold water from the sink, the shower water smelt so horrible, the bath towels were ripped, the shower was full of someone else's hair and worst of all when I made the reservation I was asked if I wanted a pool side room inside the actual building and I said yes. When I checked in, I was outside and road side. I complained to the front desk and all they could say was "ok is there anything else I can do for you?" Well asshole, you didn't do anything for me so no! I honestly would've felt more comfortable in my car! Oh, and they also charged my mother EXTRA for no reason! They said she had a dog in her room which she most definitely didn't! And they would not refund her the money they took from her bank account without her knowledge. This place is so horrible. I have been staying at this hotel every summer for a few years now when I'd go on a group trip to Indiana Beach. We always stayed in the lodge part that is not connected to the actual hotel. The hotel rooms used to be clean, comfortable, and it was a family oriented place. However, the front desk people have always had attitudes this still holds very true. I booked the hotel and when we arrived there was a group of sketchy people yelling and making a scene in the parking lot. There were cigarette butts all over in front of the door to our room. We walked in and noticed the top lock of the door had been ripped off. Everything looked dirty even the beds. It smelled like mildew and cigarettes. The bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile. The sink and counter was dusty. I counted five of someones left over hairs by the bathroom area. We plugged in the mini fridge then noticed the bottom of the fridge had a layer of water that was leaking out onto the floor. Someone had left a towel on the shelf under the freezer in a attempt to catch the water. The water soaked the towel and dripped right to the bottom. The tray that the cups and ice holder were on was covered in dust and bugs. I nicely called the front desk and asked if there was a record for the last time the room was cleaned. Without apologizing she said she would make a note to talk to the person cleaning it. We ended up leaving and staying at the Best Western way nicer and has breakfast too! read more

Stayed here for 2 nights and was originally booked in the old motel building on the grounds. We got to the room and there was a stinky smell to it immediately, plus the floors are old tiles and just an overall dinghy looking old room...totally not worth the $110 a night...not worth more than $30-40 a night. I went back to the office and asked to be switched to the new building. She said they were booked. We left for the day and arrived back to the resort after 10pm. I just happened to check with the office again, to see if there was a cancellation in the newer building...she checked and there was. For an additional $30 a night, we got switched. The rooms are MUCH cozier and cleaner. The hot tub was right down the hall, as was the access to pool area. The pool area is awesome. They even have a separate kiddie pool. The continental breakfast was decent. The only negative is that the jets on the hot tub weren't working. We were able you sit outside by the pool area till 1am...enjoying drinks and company. Highly recommend skipping the motel accommodations, and stay in the lodge building...totally worth the extra $30-35. There's plenty of restaurants in the area. Our favorite was a Mexican place on Main Street just minutes away, called Cazadores. Service, staff, food and prices, were all awesome. read more

$110/night. keep this in mind when reading this review. and beware of hotels that charge your card the full price for full stay just to hold the room. check in process was ok except i had to tell them i reserved 2 rooms. guess their computer doesn't show that. door knob on the room was loose nearly fell out. had to rely on the deadbolt and chain. flock of flies in the room. spent 30 minutes on a riveting fly hunting excursion. old spider webs in the "room linking door" if i knew this i would have used as a trap when i was fly hunting. very outdated rooms! super old HVAC that sounded like a F16 fighter jet winding up for a carrier launch. mold in the bathroom on ceiling. not the blue cheese kind either so dont try to eat it. number plate on outside of door was gone. no scoop in the bulk ice maker(everyone uses their hands i guess) gross. hopefully they washed first. jets have not worked in the hot tub for months im told which sits in the eating area. make your own bubbles i suppose. breakfast was of little choices unless you eat like a bird. they ran a floor cleaner during breakfast hours. so loud your brain vibrates. light in mens restroom by pool dont work. just spray and pray i guess or be that guy that dominates the women's restroom. outdoor shower by pool dont work and handle fell off when trying use. guess ill just jump in all sweaty and nasty. night staff however was nice and lets us close the hot tub/eating room doors and listen to music will sipping brews and soaking. although with no jets i could have just sat in the moldy bathroom in our room. free wifi which is ok. with all this for $110 per night i was probably better off sleeping in my truck in the parking lot. we canceled a nearby hotel to stay here thinking this was a decent hotel only to find out i was horribly wrong. will not be back again and advise others to stay elsewhere. read more
