From the start, Dr. Shah took the time to thoroughly explain the risks and benefits of removing each wisdom tooth. After discussing my options, we decided to remove only the problematic tooth instead of all of them. I appreciated that he prioritized what was best for me rather than recommending unnecessary treatment. The procedure was quick and I didn't feel any pain except for the pinch of the needle. Dr.Shah is very knowledgeable. You can tell he truly cares for his patients. I felt comfortable and reassured throughout the whole process. The rest of the team was just as wonderful--everyone was friendly, welcoming, and efficient. All the necessary medications were sent promptly. I had no complaints. Office is nice, and the assistants were okay. BUT whoever gave the doctor HUBERMAN a license should be jailed. All we went there for was to get an opinion on whether or not wisdom teeth should be pulled as per our dentist. My girlfriend asked for his opinion and he seemed annoyed like we were wasting his time. He then said that he recommends getting them pulled. When my girlfriend inquired about if they are not hurting and they are straight, does it still need to be removed, He scoffed and ranted about how he's been in the practice for however many years and what he says should go. That's when I stepped in and continued asking the questions about the teeth and he was a lot nicer to me, a man. He explained that the teeth are in perfect shape and might not hurt ever but should still be removed which is very contradictory. He still seemed uninterested and as we decided that we are not going to get anything removed, he said "Jesus Christ" and slammed the door. This is not how you treat patients, especially a younger female. He is miserable, sexist and his license should be revoked. WORST PLACE EVER DO NOT COME HERE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY. I came in for a wisdom teeth extract consult, then scheduled for surgery later that month. The first red flag is that they make you pay $500 for a CT nerve scan. Fine, I paid it, they said they would send a claim to my insurance in case they would approve it but they "usually" don't. Not even 48 hours before my scheduled surgery, I received a call saying the doctor would not be in that day and it would be a different doctor so my appointment would have to be canceled. They also said the preauthorization was not approved and I would have to pay out of pocket. I called my insurance to verify that the extractions are in fact covered, only the sedation was denied. When I brought this up, they backtracked and said that because the request for sedation was sent and denied, I didn't have the option to go for the default local anesthetic and would have to come in to discuss with the doctor again. How does that in any way make sense? If you're going to spew lies, at least make them believable. The front desk staff is unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. When I received the call saying my appointment would have to be canceled, it was as if I was causing THEM an inconvenience. Whenever I asked for elaboration on something, they couldn't formulate their thoughts into complete sentences or give straight answers. I could practically hear them scrambling to come up with what to say with their two brain cells. They love to put you on hold and hang up on you because they don't actually know what to do when someone questions what's going on. The sheer incompetency, lack of customer service, and just overall extreme shadiness, is actually impressive. It's a joke of an establishment. I have never come across a place with worse vibes. They probably prey on low-income, non-English speaking patients and it's absolutely disgusting. With insurance I never had to pay any out of pocket fees to have a tooth pulled that Sunset Park office is the pits. And if you try to ask for them to run this past your insurance - they submit authorization requests lacking most of the pertinent information and basically sabotaging it from the start. On the one hand, the doctor and nurses seemed quite careful and positive, but it is too early to talk about the results of treatment. On the other hand, it's difficult to make an appointment by phone, no one answers. Also, when I came back with a problem at the site of a tooth that had been removed, the administrators at the reception refused to send me to a doctor, since my doctor was not there. They suggested waiting for my doctor for 2 weeks. According to them, another doctor is recruiting new patients and will not look at them. Had the worst experience with the receptionist at the desk. First I come in to take an xray and then the day after I had a scheduled appointment to take my wisdom teeth out. One of the girls told me I could not have my wisdom teeth taken out the next day ALTHOUGH I had this appointment scheduled since 2 weeks ago.I specifically asked for Dr shah because I don't like Dr Hubermans attitude and the people at the desk kept trying to lie and say I could not get Dr shah. Whoever works at the desk is completely unprofessional. As soon as I came in to do my extraction today she complains to me that my mom was giving her a hard time but my mom only gave them a hard time because they kept trying to delay my appointment for no reason! One minute they tell me I can come Thursday and then another minute they say I can come Friday! the office charged me an extra $500 for a nerve scan so i would be able to get all four wisdom teeth removed same-day and then the doctor (Anthony Cerciello, DDS) called me "entitled" for expecting all 4 teeth to be removed after I broke down crying in my struggle to cough up the cash for the scan he told me would make it possible. Tony told me anyone else I asked to perform the surgery would tell me to "take a walk" and to "just appreciate his generosity" in completing the procedure as planned. I am very sad to give this practice only 4 stars instead of 5. I had NO complaints but, after rethinking it even though I was %@#$ing ecstatic when I apparently was asleep the entire time but, after thinking back to be completely fair, I must penalize them for switching out the actual Dr. Who did the procedure and no one wore a mask. I would have believed you if you told me they hadn't yet done the job, when I was actually done! I worried for years before I had this PAINLESS work done! Dont even let me get started at my horrible journey at this clinic. I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled, 2 at a time on separate days because of my impacted teeth. Ok my first time was not great because i do have braces and i do have a deadline to get my wisdoms out. So found out i had to visit this clinic after my very traumatic experience the first time. Ok then they asked me to take a screening of the veins in my mouth that cost 400 dollars which i later spoke to my insurance and they told me that the clinic also charged them for both screenings. Ok first visit they put me to sleep, when i woke up i was literally dragged out of the chair . And thrown on a couch outside, literally dragged out like a heavy bag of laundry by the doctor and the assistant. Then it being my first time getting put to sleep, i had a panic attack and was crying and struggling to breath due to my saliva and blood going down my throat involuntary. Instead of the assistant nurse coming to try to talk me out of my attack. She was yelling and i quote, "i have other patients in the clinic, you're gonna scare them stop crying" i was like I'm sorry I'm sorry, literally if i was conscious i would tell her off. I work in a clinic with a-lot of extractions too, I'm there to calm the patient as the dental assistant not to make them feel bad. Left the clinic with very incomplete instructions on what to do. Any way the next appointment after 2 months, i went to the clinic and when i got there after an hour in the bus. Sorry your insurance didnt work, ok made another appointment that i also went up there. This time my insurance was working and everything. "Hey im sorry someone was supposed to call you and let you know we are closed today" no one called me that day before. Then my next appointment which was 3 weeks after. As i was going down the stairs of my home, ready to leave. They called me and let me know that my insurance isn't working. Ok at least they called me before I went there. Damn and it was Saturday my insurance isn't open. Ok next appointment 3 1/2 weeks after. Finally i was in that chair again, and i was letting them know of several appointments. I even told them about the nurse they laughed it off. Ok I'm put to sleep right, i WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE of it, "stop moving!" I get screamed at by whoever was working on my teeth. It was just so scary, i remember passing out again. And then i woke up in the couch, i didn't remember moving. And i was very dizzy after for like 2 hours. I assume when they put me to sleep, they made sure i was asleep the second time. then I had an infection in my mouth which was painful after but thats all. Most I've cried ever in my life. Yeah so if you mind no one wearing masks, a quick tooth removal and being tossed around like a sac of potatoes then this clinic is for you( also if you have a stable insurance). If you want them to treat you like an human go elsewhere. (Sidenote: dont let me start with the phone calls, last time that i went i had them call the insurance and get a approval, had to call every three hrs, and finnally like the fourth time they said they did and im good to go, also dont ask questions got hung up twice on) read more

He slyly uses a friendly demeanor to con and bamboozle his patients, especially those with state health insurance. Please do not get confused with another sunset park location bc he switched to 476 48th street. but you should refer to Google reviews on this guy and all the one-star ratings are accurate. My daughter had 5 teeth pulled here and Dr Shah was AMAZING. Daughter was terrified but Dr Shah put her at ease as much as was possible by explaining everything beforehand and as he was doing it. For example he gave her choices about what order she wanted to do things in, making her feel empowered and he was very respectful of her feelings. He also brought humor and warmth to what could have been a very tense experience by telling jokes and stories along the way... The only downside was the wait time, but it seemed like the staff was doing everything they could to hurry things along. Horrible experience from beginning to end and I would never recommend this place. I was scheduled to get my 4 wisdom tooth removal surgery. Got there early since I was a new patient to fill out paperwork. I had an appointment for 11:30am and wasn't seen till minutes to 1pm. To be told by the nurse I needed better X-Rays than the one I took at my dentist office couple weeks ago. Which I also have a copy of and looked perfect fine to me but I'm not a doctor. The doctor then came and recommended I take new X-Rays so they could send their X-Ray to my insurance to request a 3D X-Ray(Which all sounded like a scam to get patients and their insurance to pay for X-Ray). Earlier He mentioned he could take out two of my wisdom tooth on the top and quickly change his mind when he noticed had no intentions on coming back to pay for X-Rays. He now said he would extract the two teeth whenever I came back to pay for the X-Rays. So I waited about 3hrs with an appointment for absolutely nothing. The nurse were rude as well and got an attitude because I asked when I would be seen. Patient came in after me and was seen before me. I took my mother to get a tooth pulled today. I ended up paying 300 out of pocket for insurance because this place couldn't be bothered to call and verify if anesthesia was covered, which it is. Then they told me it's because she hasn't been there in 3 yrs, then they said it was because her initial exam wasn't done there. Which makes no sense. I had a referral, i called three weeks prior to set up the appt and told them she needed an extraction and they still didn't verify that her insurance in fact DID cover the anesthesia even if she hasn't been there or had her initial exam done somewhere else, which, per UHC they are required to do so! Don't give them any money, call your insurance first! Lots of patients there are elderly and don't speak much English. They're taking advantage of that fact! Or just don't go there at all! read more
