My daughter is proud of the "jobs" she does, excited about learning, and she has made quality friendships with other kind children. The curriculum is interesting, dynamic, and also so fun! She is learning about cultures, languages, yoga, dance, and art, plus math and reading! I'm blown away. I truly can not recommend Greenleaf Mindful Montessori enough. The casual environment only adds to the comforting mindset that allows my daughter's brain and heart to be wide open. This is not a daycare. This is a pre-- School where children learn and thrive and learn to learn and thrive even more when they sadly will have to move on to the next level of life and education. I'm grateful that I have one more year there because my daughter seems to be easily and enjoyably learning even more than my son is in kindergarten.

Ms Vanessa and the entire team of teachers are so lovely and caring and are always coming up with the most creative activities. I will never forget attending the Thanksgiving Potluck and was amazed at how the children made the table cloths, did the flower arranging, and decorated centerpieces for the tables. It truly was a work of art! For their end of year show, the teachers had written and composed all the music and songs that the children learnt! No other school would do that, and I think it instills such creative values in the children. Since attending, my child's creativity has just blossomed and it's been so amazing to see. The teachers also focus on numbers, the alphabet, and learning about other countries and cultures. Plus, they learn french, yoga, and music. It really is a well-rounded Montessori curriculum. I also love that the school has a clean eating policy and serves healthy snacks. If you are a parent looking for a nurturing school that is going to inspire your child, Greenleaf is it! I couldn't be happier with my decision to send my child here.

They know how to treat each child with love, care and support. They have many different activities that goes on in this cute, yet full of knowledge by the staff. They work very carefully, hard and meticulously with your child. They don't discriminate against any child of their national/ethenic origin, race/color. It is a very SAFE environment for the child and their parents/guardians. Recently, I attended to one of my friend's child's Christmas party and was blown away by how well the party was organized/orchestrated by their staff members. Kids love their teachers and don't want to go home:-) By seeing, volunteering, observing everything and hearing word of mouth, don't hesitate to sign your child up at this cute, colorful, pretty ABC School. I don't know the parking situation, but they do have clean bathrooms for boys and girls!:-)

I highly recommend this school to anyone who is curious about pre-school. ABC was more than a pre-school, it was a home and will always be a place that our family will miss and visit often.

Firstly, let me just say it's difficult to get into a good Montessori in LA. Everything is…read moreoverbooked and that's will be the case with Exploring Minds (Sherman Oaks). It is difficult to get in, there's an application process and objectively speaking, think about this from the school's perspective - everyone wants in, so they need a criterion to decide who to bring on board; if you tried and didn't get in, it's OK...as my 5 year old says "that's life". The school itself? It's amazing. I won't say it's the single greatest school in planet LA. Neither will the school itself assert that; but there are tons of good choices for you and your family and this is one of the better ones. Let's speak about why from the perspective of outcomes: my kid learned to read, and write, learned social skills to thrive amongst peers, some Mandarin and yoga too! They follow the Montessori method, they will teach your kid to hone on their fine motor skills, tie their shoe laces, reinforce what are good and bad behaviors and all the life skills and techniques that your little one needs to navigate this crazy world. And, they have a parent teacher conference where they'll tell you exactly how your bundle of joy is doing - give and seek feedback, iterate and help your child grow. The school is a very tight knit community. If you are a parent then please expect to get involved. They also care about diversity and have several events thru the year that I won't recant here - you can look up their website and learn more. What I'll conjecture is this (perhaps I am repeating!): In life, outcomes matter. That's the ultimate barometer. Almost every kid we know of in the school graduated and mostly got into a school of their choice - this is, without hyperbole, due to Exploring Minds, it's well recognized by K-12 schools in the area and beyond. And the kids turned out well. That is a function of three things: You, your child and Exploring Minds in that order. So, if you get in, please be nice, contribute your time and joy, enjoy your time here and leave with wonderful memories, like we will be doing soon. Finally, Ms Doha is running this as a service - she could be doing a million other things with her life, but she chooses to do this, because she loves it. Ditto with the teachers - Ms Brenda, Ms Barbara and Ms Socorro (not to downplay others but there's a lot of wonderful teachers) - who helped shape the socio-emotional development of our child; they choose to do this because they love this. They inspire our child. In closing, I'll say if you are looking for schools in the area for your little wonder, apply here and I hope you get in.

Before I give a glowing and deeply heartfelt review of the experience our family has had at…read moreMontessori House of Children with both of our boys, I want to share a broader thought, because context matters, especially when parents are making one of the most important decisions of their lives. I think it is fundamentally unfair when a school receives a one-star review based purely on a parent's expectation of what they think an accredited Montessori environment should be, particularly when that opinion comes from a misunderstanding, limited exposure, or without ever actually attending or engaging with the school. Montessori education is nuanced, intentional, and often misunderstood when viewed through a traditional lens. What troubles me most is how quickly some people run to leave damaging reviews without first asking questions, seeking clarity, or having a conversation with the school. Educators and administrators put their entire lives into the well-being of these children and the integrity of their program. Parents rely on real, lived experiences when deciding to place their children in someone else's care, and highly subjective or reactionary reviews do not serve that trust or decision-making process. I truly believe that if something feels off, the first step should be to pause, gather information, and talk with the school. If, after genuine effort and understanding, you still feel strongly, then by all means leave a review. But perspective matters. And if you take a moment to look at some of the most extreme one-star profiles, you will often notice a pattern. Volatility, absolutes, and very little middle ground. Life, and education, rarely works that way. Now onto what actually matters. Our older son graduated from Montessori House of Children and is now thriving in first grade. Our younger son is about to graduate this year. Over the years, we have watched both boys grow not just academically, but emotionally, socially, and independently. This school helped shape who they are as learners and as people. The teachers are patient, intentional, and deeply invested. The environment fosters confidence, curiosity, responsibility, and respect. These are core Montessori principles that are clearly lived, not just advertised. Our children felt safe, seen, challenged, and supported. We will always be grateful for the foundation Montessori House of Children gave our family. It is not just a school. It is a community that genuinely cares about children and their development. I recommend it without hesitation to parents seeking a thoughtful, authentic Montessori experience.

Montessori is so important and this school's approach is full of love, play, independence, nurture, art, music, dance, and strong education. My daughter's confidence, independence, learning, and social skills have soared because of this school. She has so many friends and I have made friends with the sweet community of parents. The layout of this school is so special. The outdoor area is massive and the classrooms have so many toys and books. Most of all, these teachers are the most compassionate women. They are expert teachers. My daughter LOVES her teacher. They have the most special relationship. All of the teachers are warm people that I feel very comfortable with. They transform these little balls of mush to independent big kids in the most loving way. I feel like I can call any time and when I have, any 5 of the teachers would magically know exactly what's going on with my child at that moment! In the beginning, when I needed updates on my daughter, this was the biggest comfort. They were so loving and kind during that difficult adjustment to school for the first time. I know as a teacher myself, this time of life is precious and goes by very fast. I want my daughter to have this time learning through play and toys, learning through friendships, learning through art and music, and learning outside before she starts kindergarten. Sorry, but as a teacher myself, I have observed TK. Not doing it. I want my child to have one more amazing year before public school. She will have 12 years of public school; Montessori is special. The school also creates the most precious memories with special events that I will cherish forever. Potty training was accomplished quickly and with so much encouragement. Parking is easy. If you are considering, sit down with Ms. Kumi. All of our neighbors sent their kids. We were told: You MUST send your child there. They were right. I am very thankful.

The teachers were so great about sending us updates in the first couple weeks during the difficult transition from family daycare to this one. Our son has been SO HAPPY ever since. He's made so many friends, loves telling us about his day, and the staff are so great about helping with potty training. Believe me, our son was a doozy for them, so TRUST that they'll work with you on it. The kids get a lot of outdoor time to break apart the time they spend indoors. Their playground is awesome, with so many different interesting areas for the kids to explore and play. I've realized its actually hard to find another place that allows so much outdoor time for the kids, and ours definitely loves having the space to run his "yaya's" out. The teachers are very in tune with the kids, and get to know them genuinely. The kids are loved here, and on top of the joy that they experience... the learning they gain even at young ages is amazing! My only heads up is that you won't receive a lot of updates on your kid throughout the day on the app, but honestly he was so happy every day at drop-off and pickup, we decided it was better the teachers were focused on the kids rather than the app and taking enough photos of the kids all day long.

Campbell Hall is an INCREDIBLE school. I am so grateful my daughter got in (for Kindergarten, now…read moreshe's in 2nd grade). Yes it is expensive, but 1 out of 4 kids is on partial or full financial aid and that was very important to us, because we can afford it, but we did not want our daughter going to a "rich kid" school. And this school really values diveristy, including socioeconomic diversity. It is technically Episcopal but 22% of the student population is Jewish and the kids learn about and celebrate all kinds of different holidays including Diwali. We of course worry about gun violence and the campus is a COMPOUND. You cannot get onto campus without being checked out by security, and there is a former Marine on campus at all times with his adorable German Shepard, Otto - who is GREAT with the kids but I imagine also trained to attack and take down anyone threatening. One of the things I like the best is there are so many after school activities on campus I don't have to drive my daughter anywhere else, I just pick her up a bit later on days she has activities like Toy Design, Junior Shark Tank, Tennis, Mindfulness, and Improv. And while we do not use the bus system yet, my understanding is that Campbell Hall has the widest and most extensive bus system of any of the private schools in LA. Lastly, the parents CARE and are really involved and the school really welcomes their involvement. And the kids are taught values and kindness is a major priority along with education. Again, I recognize the expense is daunting and it's very hard to get into, but we applied and got into Laurence, Oakwood, Hollywood Schoolhouse etc, and are extremely happy (and so is our daughter) that she got into CH. She is absolutely thriving.
