I had an appointment at a different med spa. Once I got there they said they wouldn't be able to do my usual Botox treatment (10 units in forehead, 6 in chin) because it "wasn't enough" and were surprised other injectors did in the past (I'm from LA and this was never an issue) and proceeded to say 32 units would be the minimum. After bidding them adieu, I dropped into Sunset Med Spa without an appointment and they were able to get me in with Jamie. I described my prior experience and what I was looking for and got exactly that. Jamie was thorough, clearly very skilled and someone I felt I could trust with my face. Totally rate Sunset MedSpa with Radha at 5 stars!!! :) LOVE her! She is amazing and knows so much about everything. Not only that she is so personable, patient and fun to talk to. Originally went in for an IPL package of 3 treatments. As you can see from the photos (Top photos show no treatments vs. Bottom photos with the difference between Treatment #1, #2, #3, and #4 from another set of photos). The results were amazing with getting rid of my brown sun spots (due to sun damage from past tanning!) and also broken capillaries. As you can see...the brown sun spots faded tremendously. After my 3rd IPL treatment, I've decided to purchase a second new package with 1 IPL together with 2 Chemical Peels. She told me I would be ready for the Chemical Peels - with an extra TLC for my face to get additional help on removing the brown sun spots and also the milia that I have been complaining to get rid of so much; which I hear from friends that they have received amazing results from their experience. I am excited to try the chemical peels and will also provide my final updated feedback along with photos after my experience :) Highly recommend Sunset Medspa. :) I've had pretty good experiences here so far and already completed 4 treatments. There was no pressure in any sales or packages so not sure why other reviews had mentioned that. Definitely give this company a try! I just turned 49 and decided to get a little bit of work done on my looks, namely Botox and filler. I'd never done this before so I didn't know exactly what to expect. I loved coming here to get the IPL (they call it AFT). My aesthetician was so great--she was very thorough with before and after care instructions, gave me her full attention and listened to what I said, and adjusted the strength of the treatment according to my skin conditions. However, I do want to caution those that want to try AFT--make sure you do a few sessions! It isn't a one-and-done deal. The first time I did it the setting was too strong for my skin tone and gave me stripes on the forehead (which faded after the second session after my aesthetician adjusted the machine to a level fitting for my skin) So there's some trial-and-error that makes it work perfectly:) read more

From the first conversation I had with Danell about the services and finding the best package for me, to the ease of scheduling...my initial impression was the team is very professional and accommodating. As for my first treatment, It went smoothly and I had a great experience with Radha. She provided excellent service and explained how their lasers are different (and better) than the IPL lasers they used at my former spa. Radha was so much fun to talk with as well. It felt as if we already knew each other. I'd say having received laser treatments over about 5-6 years at two different spas, Sunset MedSpa surpasses them all. I'm looking forward to going back! I wanted to make an addedndum to my review, since I wrote this review I have had multiple services done here at my beloved Spa. I have purchased a full body hair removal package. legs, arms, abdomen, face, and a full brazillian and under arms. you name it, if there is a place to lazer I have purchased all of it to be gone, gone, gone. I have seen really good results. a sagnificant reduction in the hair texture and also the amount of hair in all areas. so far I have been coming here for 6 months now and I love it. I have had two estheticians treat me for laser hair removal and both Alley and Heather were super super amazing. also I have purchased products and I have been very happy with the services. I got brave enough and went ahead and purchased a dermal filler here and had my lips enhanced with Restylane. I called the spa a few times before hand and I asked lots of stupid questions Im sure but they were patient and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. The guy who called me back, I think his name was Nate... cant remember now, but he was super nice. I shoped around town for different prices and the spa worked with me, they even offered me a payment option. I went in for the procedure and Dr:Dhai Barr was very nice, she numbed my lips and proceded to give me injections. I didnt feel a whole lot but the end result was beautiful. I get compliments all the time, my lip enhancement is not noticeable " as fake" at all, people offten say, " I dont know what you did but you look amazing" the end result is very subtle and natural looking. Im planning on going in again to have my lips enhanced even more, I want a bigger pout. otherwise this place is full of nice people, professional atmosphere and experience. I love this place, so worth it, worth it, worth every $$$. Oh boy, everyone gets a groupon for sunset med spa and so did I. I had reviewed a few of the comments on here and didnt know what to think. just went there with an open mind, a little nerveous about the treatment but I was well prepared since the girl I spoke wiht over the phone was very thourough with her instructions as to what I should and shouldnt do. when I arrived there the atmosphere was clean, calm and lights were dim , overall place looked nice and relaxing. Let me first of start by saying I really wanted to like Sunset MedSpa. I have been going to New Image Laser for IPL's for years so when New Image Laser closed I was sad. New Image Laser recommended Sunset MedSpa for IPL upon closing. I was excited to get the treatment here now. I did buy a Groupon and I'm not sure if that was the reason the treatment wasn't great but I don't think it should matter, right? The spa looks nice and the woman that greeted me was professional (although she kept referring to my hyper pigmentations as 'my browns'). She did tell me New Image Laser had called them and wanted to refer their customers upon their closing. She also told me it was just through a phone call so New Image Laser and Subset MedSpa did not really know each other. The treatment itself always give a slapping feeling, like you get hit with a rubber band each time. Here I felt nothing but I thought maybe the laser was better than what I was used to. After treatment was done the woman gave me some creams and said that it might sting some later. But later...nothing...no stinging....no 'browns' coming to the surface like usual....nothing! A few days later still nothing. Like I never had any treatment. Now here is my I wrote this review...about a week later I receive a survey from Sunset MedSpa to rate my experience. So I write about my lack of results and disappointment in the treatment thinking that someone will contact me to discuss but....nothing, not an email, no phone call.....absolutely NOTHING.... I'm pretty disappointed. Anyone know of another good Spa to go to for IPL? read more

I have been coming here for a while for laser hair removal. I have light hair and they were very open about informing me that this isn't nearly as effective (or not at all) for those with blonde hair. Knowing this, I still decided to purchase a package deal and test my luck with it. (NOTE: I have a terrible allergy to nickel so anytime I shave, my skin breaks out in very painful blistery rashes. I have tried those nickel free razors, but they are pricey and very cheaply made and I just did not like them. My skin also cannot handle waxing) While my hair does still grow back, I have noticed the growth has been SLOW and reduced to pretty much a peach fuzz, which I am more than happy with, and I am not even done with my sessions yet. I only have to shave about once every few weeks now. Also, I recently tried a microdermabrasion and loved the results! I plan on giving a photo facial a try soon too, as I have some bad sun spots and broken capillaries around my nose I'd love to be rid of. So, in all, I would highly recommend Sunset Medspa :) read more

I bought a groupon for a bikini laser package for one year. Upon arriving the staff was super friendly and welcoming. When going into the room they educate you and make sure that you are 100% comfortable. I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to a Brazilian for a small extra fee, and did. I've been in for three sessions so far and have been 100% satisfied with the awesome results. I don't have anything to compare this place to as far as laser hair removal is concerned because I've never had it done before. But so far my experience has been great. I wanted a lot of areas done and Brianna helped me get the best deal possible. It's a lot of money but not more than other places in the area. And after only 2 sessions I'm already impressed with the results. Brianna does the laser for me and she's a very sweet girl. We have a nice little chat while I'm on the table (which because I'm doing so many areas is about 2 hours!). I'm lucky to be a good candidate for the treatment as I have very light skin with dark course body hair, so I saw results just weeks after my first treatment. That's obviously not going to be true for everyone but I already know this is money well spent for me. The facility is comfortable and the staff friendly. read more

I bought a groupon for a large area for $239 which was an awesome deal. The laser worked for me and was minimally painful. The treatments are quick, I was always in and out in 15 minutes. BUT... They lack a little something in the professional area. I never felt like the girls performing the service knew very much about what they were doing. There was a variance in treatment as well, even from the same person. Sometimes they were a little lazy and only used one kind of laser instead of two or they only made 2 passes instead 4. They also would hold the laser on my skin two long without letting it breath and that thing gets hot. I say this after having something to compare it to. I waited to write this review until I tried another place so I had a point of reference. I have now experienced a more professional aesthetician and understand the difference. Scheduling is also a little annoying. Appointments are scheduled every 4-6 weeks and they would give me one scheduling choice and if I couldn't make that, I would have to wait another 2 weeks or something. I'm sorry, you have one 5-minute appointment to choose from a month and a half from now - give me a break! And I had to wait like 3 months for my first appointment - ridiculous. For the groupon rates, I wouldn't hesitate to go to Sunset MedSpa, but I wouldn't pay full price ever. Reading through all the other reviews, I can see why people have positive things to say. Laser Hair Removal is amazing and all the ladies out there know the pain-staking lengths we all go through to remove hair so we're willing to do whatever it takes. I had been thinking about getting laser hair removal for a long time. I saw a groupon for this Medspa and read the great reviews and decided to go for it. I'm getting a Brazilian and underarms done. It worked even after just a single treatment. The hair that does grow back grows slowly and is much less course. Eventually the hair that grows out after the treatment then falls out. I am only halfway done, so I'm not sure what my end result will be, but even if a little hair grows back, this is a huge improvement and totally worth the money. The technology they use is excellent. I experience little to no pain. Just zaps here and there. It also goes so fast! For both Brazilian and underarms I am in and out of there in about 20 minutes. My technician is very nice as well. I will say, you must have darker hair with contrast against a lighter skin tone for best results. I won't be using laser hair removal on my legs or arms because I have white skin and blonde hair. read more

I originally started going here because I had a Groupon, but I keep going back. I've had laser hair removal on my underarms, upper lip and lower legs. I'm pretty happy with the results thus far, with the minor exception of my underarms (I have to get a touch-up and hopefully we're good to go). I've had a few different techs, but I have to say that Radha is my fave. Fun to talk to and she keeps me distracted from the sometimes unpleasant pain. Though I have to say, the laser isn't that bad, just be sure to shave the day of. It feels like all the hairs get plucked by the root the first time, but with each procedure, there's less pain, as there isn't as much hair to get rid of. However, it's the truth and I can't deny it - it's how I was able to experience such an expensive treatment for an affordable cost. The staff are kind and welcoming people, mind you when I began my treatment there was a lot of kinks to work out with their office staffing... It did get better throughout my time there. Laser hair removal, don't listen to anyway when they say "it doesn't hurt" or "it feels like a pinch". It hurts, it sucks, and I wish there was an easier way to get myself hairless. Although the procedure is brief it can feel like eons until you're done, but they'll take their time with you. I felt like a child tensing up in pain, but hey it's the cost of beauty. They can be accommodating to your scheduling needs and after a lot of feedback I feel they took in consideration the comments of the 9 to 5 workers and opened up evening and Saturday clinic hours. Like almost everyone that goes here I bought a groupon for the year long laser treatments for the underarms and bikini line. For the value it is great. I have seen results with my dark hair. Every appointment takes about 40 mins. The aestheticians seem to change quite often, so they get 4 stars. Find someone that you like and reschedule with them. Appointments are easy to make and you can make a few appointments ahead of time. I am really happy overall. It is laser, so it does hurt a little. Try to shave right before you get there, any bit of stubble will make it hurt a little more. And don't be afraid to ask for more gel. I would recommend this place to all of my friends. read more

I had a great experience this last year at Sunset Med Spa. The staff is super friendly (Charla is the SWEETEST and I LOVED my appointments with her!) and answered my millions of questions with a breeze. I docked a star because of my results. Throughout my year of treatments I was told I was the perfect candidate for laser hair removal however I am not 100% hair-free in the areas that I had treated. I did not expect perfection, of course, but I did expect to not have to shave as often as I used to. It has been about two months after my final treatment and I am having to shave every other day which is what I was doing before treatments as well. I will say that the hair growth is not as thick as it used to be. I am mostly happy with my results but disappointed at how much money I spent to get them. read more

Sorry.. I really do hate leaving bad reviews. But, I do want other potential clients to know the truth of my personal experience. I did laser hair removal here. It's very hard to get an appointment. It did not work AT ALL. The technicians are always changing. Some did okay. Some lazy. Wait time can be long. Bathroom always dirty. No toilet paper. Not overly friendly. I was not at all educated on the process. Like you can't be in the sun after and you can't have a spray tan. Which should be gone over one the first telephone booking session. So, I drove all the way across town for my appointment and when she was getting ready to start the procedure she asked what I did and we got started on spray tan talk and I told her I currently had one (clearly she didn't review the paperwork thoroughly, as I wrote it down) We had to stop and re-schedule another 1-4 weeks out. I am not impressed. I would not recommend. Overall. Very expensive to see NO results. Especially being a prime candidate. Fair skin. Dark hair. You definitely work around their schedule not yours.
