A tech came out to our historical home in April to investigate an attic that was somehow cooler than the home. The tech found tape on our duct work and after taking the tape off, left us with a completely dismantled duct. We were left with the option to pay the company $900 for repairs or be left with no AC. We paid the company, had the repairs done, and were told we would need to repair the remainder of duct work soon. Fast forward 7 months and we asked for a tech to come out to repair the remaining duct work. The tech texted my husband, stating that the fix would be a simple seal and would be quick. He even offered to service our system while he was out, as we pay into Island Breeze's maintenance program. Come to find out, this service tech texted my husband these updates without yet checking out our attic. 30 minutes later, he's pressuring us to completely reduct the entire system and tells us he doesn't have time to service the system. We told him we would need to see a quote before agreeing to anything. We were promised a quote later that evening, but were only sent a $120 bill for his visit. When we called the office to follow up, they seemed confused and said they would need to send another tech out to investigate. A week later another tech comes to visit us. He's ready to start the reduct project. We had to clarify that we were still waiting on a quote. We also asked if there was any other solution, and we were finally given the option to just repair the second half of the ductwork (the option originally marketed to us from the first tech) Another week goes by before we call the office and finally get a quote, $3157 for the reduct without acknowledgement of the $900 we were charged earlier for forced repairs. We asked if we could have a quote for the repair and are still waiting. After several weeks of playing the run around game with Island Breeze, we still have no answers. Honestly, we should have known this company wasn't it after they forced us into a $900 repair in September.

I gave Plumbing Express a call and they dug up the lawn to expose a leaking corroded galvanized pipe. Called several plumbing companies for quotes since it was going to be an expensive job to repair. Some companies were not equipped for the job since the piping went under the concrete front patio (need a concrete saw and jackhammer). Others gave me a lowball offer without asking many questions. Others wanted way too much. They finished the job in a day after getting the area blue-staked. They tried not to damage any plants. Replaced the concrete they removed. They took any trash generated with them including excess dirt. Very happy with the job. They were very knowledgeable about the latest techniques in plumbing.

Hank came out to do some work under a home warranty company repair on one unit a while back and…read morequickly found the issue and got it fixed. The original company that was assigned the job never even called... they just handed it back to the warranty company. We ended up winning on that one. Fast forward about 2-3 months and our other unit quit cooling. This is an old dinosaur but a very solid unit and since it cools the downstairs, really doesn't run near as much as our upstairs unit. We called the home warranty, asked for Hank and were told, 'nope, need to work through their list'... whatever that means. We finally got contacted by them and were told they might have time to get someone out in a couple days and they would get back to us later to firm up the time. We reached out direct to Hank to mostly get him to come out and take a look at it and do a diagnostics on it and figuring we'd at least get a realistic quote on replacing the whole thing... Hank said he had some time right then and came over. About 45 minutes later and the unit is up and working again. A little more out-of-pocket up front than the warranty company cost for just getting someone out to look at it but I know it's fixed correctly now. Great service, explained what happened and what was needed, upfront quote for the work with no sudden upcharges. We'll be sharing Hank's info with friends and neighbors.

Then within a week the unit stopped working. They came back, same technician, extremely rude and acted unprofessional as if I inconvenienced him. He looked at the unit and within a few minutes told me it was fixed. Next day, same problem, unit blowing at about half the capacity. I called and spoke with management, who agreed to send new technician. New person arrived and advised I needed a new belt, which he comped because of bad experience. Next day, still not working. Look at the video, does this look like quality work? The belt is so loose and out of balance, it's pathetic. Look at the calcium buildup, all occurred during this period of two weeks when Morehart was "working on solution". Do not use this company. They cost me 178$ and then another 225$ for a new company to fix their mistakes and clean out unit to get running optimally.

Todd and Brian rapidly diagnosed problems found in my breaker box and sub panel, answered my questions, explained the issues in a way that I found easy to under. In fact, they were fun to watch and listen to as they went to work confirming what was to code and what was not. After investigating everything and said "no problem". Then I showed them the rest of the mess made by the GC I fired and again "no problem". Then they walked me through the work, to confirm what I wanted done, and recommended some much needed maintenance on some old breakers, which I was happy to get done, and then they gave me a quote. I hired them on the spot. On the scheduled date and time, they showed up and got to work. While they worked, they discovered a number of additional issues, and took care of them all. They discovered a brand new motion detector installed by my GC was wired wrong and was actually fried (my GC tried to tell me was completed work despite the fact that it never worked). The good news is: Todd and Brian finished all of the work on time, including the extra work. They were a pleasure to chat with and work through decisions, throughout the entire process. They were great even at the little things like: - letting us know before they turned the power off - recommending which appliances to turn off first - letting us know before they brought the power back on. - letting us know before they left for lunch, which doors they locked, and when they expected to return. ...this is just good customer service. When all of the work was done, they walked me through everything I asked for, showed everything they fixed or replaced, or installed and they even tripled checked some lines that went to my pool equipment that turned out to be extra. In my humble opinion, they went above and beyond in every way. Every problem I asked them to fix, got fixed. Every installation was exactly how they told me it would be during the estimate. And the work areas were clean (no snipped wires left all over the place, etc.). To me, having just gone through a nightmare scenario? The first time this happened at this property, I told the guy who was standing at his truck checking his phone that he was blocking the entire sidewalk and I could not get by walking my dogs. He did not move and instead doubled down the next time he was out and used both trucks to block the sidewalk. No considerate of others. In response to the company's reasoning, I disagree, I have lived in this community since April 2000 in 3 different homes including on that street and it is first of all is not a thoroughfare and has very little traffic but regardless is wide enough for him to park on the roll up curb or even park 1 car length further up to allow pedestrians and vehicles to both pass safely. There are work trucks parking on that street everyday and none of them were parked so far onto the sidewalk that they impede pedestrians walking by safely. There was also ample room in the homeowners driveway to park further back and not block the sidewalk. Obviously, you're more interested in arguing with me on a public forum than the neighbors you serve. But I have 2 small dogs on a walk and it was already 95 degrees at 9am - the asphalt is 20+ degrees hotter than the sidewalk and it was burning their feet. I'm sorry your tech is too lazy to walk 10 addl feet than inconvenience the neighbors. The bottom line is sidewalks are for people not for vehicles.
