We just visited for the 2nd time and realized I never posted a review from our first visit…read more 1st visit we sat at one of the pub top tables by the bar with all the TVs over it. Our wait staff was Makenzie and she was great! We had fried pickles as an appetizer. Came out quick and breaded just right. I had the Cheeseburger Sliders Basket - 3 mini burgers topped with American cheese, mustard, ketchup and pickles. Served with a French fries and coleslaw. My daughter had the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sub - grilled chicken breast cubed and sautéed with onions, banana peppers, jerk seasonings and melted Provolone cheese. Served on a sub roll with lettuce and homemade pineapple cilantro salsa with pub chips. 2nd visit- It has been about 2 months from our first visit. We were at a booth this time. We had a tv designated just for our booth. The TVs are number and you can have them change the channel for your table. Our one of the large TVs if you don't have your own tv. I had the Gamecock - grilled chicken sandwich topped with bacon, melted Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and ranch dressing on a brioche bun. Very good sandwich. My husband had the French Dip - roast beef and Provolone cheese baked on a sub roll with caramelized onions and served with au jus. Bobby was our server. He was attentive and nice. Good food in a clean sports bar.

This was my first visit to Dagwood's in North Myrtle Beach. I stopped in after 8 p.m. on a Monday,…read moreso I realize late evenings on a weeknight can feel a little different from peak hours. I was greeted quickly and directed to a seat at the bar. The same staff member soon brought me water and poured a 10-ounce Dirty Myrtle IPA, a local double IPA on tap. She made sure I knew it was a smaller pour, which I appreciated. The beer itself was very good. After getting a menu, I ordered the fish and chips, which is usually my go-to when trying a pub for the first time. The plate looked great when it arrived: four large pieces of fried cod (enough for two people, really), fries, a big pickle spear, two cups of tartar sauce, and coleslaw. The coleslaw deserves special mention. It was excellent--honestly one of the best I've had anywhere. Fresh, balanced, and really flavorful. The fish arrived hot and the first bite was very good: flaky cod with a crisp exterior. As I worked further into it, though, I realized the batter was thicker than I personally prefer. Instead of a light, crispy coating, it was heavier and softer underneath the crust, and as the fish cooled that became more noticeable. The fries were decent but seemed like they had been sitting under heat for a bit. Not bad, just not as hot and crisp as they could have been. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, and it seems like a good place to meet friends or catch a game. Service at the bar was polite but fairly minimal, and my total was just over $27 for the beer and fish and chips, which felt a little high for the overall depth of the meal. Overall, it was a mixed experience: good vibe, great coleslaw, decent fish, but not quite a standout meal for me. I'll likely give Dagwood's another try and explore other items on the menu. And when I do, I'll definitely order that coleslaw again.

I believe the owner sat us at our table and was very friendly. The waitress quickly came over with menus and took our drink order and informed us of the soup of the day. My wife and I love soup so we each ordered a cup of the soup special (chicken tortellini). I asked about the chicken wings and was told that they are excellent so I ordered 12 barbecue chicken wings and my wife ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The soup had excellent flavor but the tortellini's were way over cooked. My chicken wings were excellent as described. They were large and crispy. Some of the best I've had in a while. My wife loved her chicken sandwich and fries. Service was great.

She was pissed off and brought me the drink. I specifically, I asked for light ice, who wants to pay $2.75 for a glass of ice? She became extremely hostile that she had to remake the glass of club soda. she screamed at me that this was her bar! Me, thinking to myself...so what, bring what I asked for simple, right? You do not own the business! I sought out the owner who has always been present during my 3-4 previous visits to share what happened. He explained she has a problems when it gets busy...... and gets agitated. Honestly, the place had a trivia contest but it was not all that busy. I was there the night before for St Paddy's Day dinner, there were no issues. The place was packed. I was seated quickly, ordered and the club soda and the Rueben was served in am amazingly short time. The Rueben grilled and hot! The server was wonderful. I had fried fish there at lunch, great. I had prime rib for dinner. The prime rib was, delicious, cooked to perfection. The 6 oz cut yielded 3 oz of pure fat. I brought the fat home and weighted it. So be careful of the so called specials. My fault, I should have not accepted the cut. Bottom line, food is good as is the service, except for this JJ bartender. As a seasoned business owner, I wonder why he keeps such an unbalanced individual on during the busy times if he knows she cannot handle it in a professional manner? Maybe put her on lunch schedule or out to pasture. There are so many restaurant's and bars to choose from, no one should have to put up with surly waitstaff.
