Loved the biscuits & gravy and the corned beef hash was the real deal...not a fan of the coffee or it would have earned five stars.

From the sincere welcome from either Bill or Karen, to the enthusiastic service from the staff, to the great food from the kitchen, the Sunset Grill should be a must-do for those passing by as well as for locals. You can arrive by car, boat or plane. Comfortable booths and great views enhance the experience of yummy food. We have a cabin in the area and always take visiting friends, usually for breakfast. We went to this restaurant and left really upset. We came by boat. No one was available to pump gas, so my husband went off to find someone while I went in to get a table. I told the person at the bar there were 6 of us and asked if we should take a booth. She nodded. The owner came over and literally chewed us out for sitting down without the whole party. I explained my husband was trying to get gas, but she nastily stated there was a button to push for that. She also chewed my husband out for not ringing the bell for gas and then it took forever to get the food. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I sat down at the bar to order some takeout breakfast (2 meals). The nice bartender went to grab me a menu & a man came over and said "I have a restaurant full of customers, I can't make any to go food for you" and looked at me like I had ruined his entire life. The fact that you're implying that I'm not a customer is absurd, as if I was asking for free food. What would the difference had been if I had just ordered the two meals to eat at the bar then asked for to-go boxes? I was just sitting at the bar, nothing more nothing less. I had also ordered a Bloody Mary which I never got. I was trying to pay money for a service. I would have happily put the food in the box myself. It's sad because we own a property a few miles down the road and frequent Jakes. I will never go there again, neither will my family or friends. I also never recommend this place to my renters due to the poor service and mistreatment of an ACTUAL customer. read more

Sunset grill is the best breakfast place in three lakes. I tried the three lakes poacher and that's all I have every time I go there. In the summer the wait can get very long, but it is defiantly worth it. read more

Great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Good quality food and clean restaurant. Bill and Karen are very friendly. Great ice cream also.

We come here every time we are in Three Lakes and usually love it. However, this weekend was such a bummer. The food is good, that's not the issue. We know that it is going to be a bit of a wait for a table, especially in the summer. When we finally were seated and ordered after about a 30 minute wait, our food didn't come until almost two hours later. No one came to our table to explain what was going on. The server, who is usually really good, didn't apologize or throw some free or discounted food our way. We had two kids under 3 with us, and they were exceptionally patient. It was really disappointing that no one explained what was going on, or apologized. We would have made breakfast at home or just cancelled our order if we knew it was going to take that long. We wasted precious time on the lake waiting in a restaurant instead. We will go back since it is a family favorite, but we will keep this not so great experience in the back of our minds for sure. read more
