The Cannon is a coffee shop that offers a selection of sit down brunch options. Upon entering we were immediately greeted with a friendly smile from the barista at the counter. The interior is beautifully lit with natural light as the floor to ceiling windows allow for tons of light. The food was excellent, and I mean excellent. I had poached egg, with bacon and a waffle. It was so good. My mouth is salivating just thinking about it. My girlfriend had the salmon with avocado and waffle. That too was amazing. She had a cappuccino and the barista had done a very nice milk art. For me, since I dont drink coffee I had the organelle mango juice. Again, it was more than exceptional. Oh, along with the meal, they bring over Dawson's hot sauce and syrup. I had a taste of smoke bbq chipotle and instantly put over the bacon eggs and waffles. I couldn't leave without purchasing a bottle for myself. It was so good. If ever I'm in Hamilton again, I would definitely go here again.

I called her out on her rudeness and told her I will be leaving as I do not take being disrespected lightly (and that I would delete the video). She for some bizarre reason decided to ESCORT me out! (I was already leaving) making the situation far more dramatic than necessary and ensuring other customers were aware of it. It felt intentionally humiliating and completely disproportionate to what had happened. I don't understand how these people are in business or why so many good reviews. I trust many reviewers just simply haven't had the "pleasure" of meeting that owner (or are fake) In addition, this was the first cafe ever that had black tarp on its windows making sure nobody from the outside sees whats inside. A server said hi and asked me what I'd like to drink. I went with a Diet Coke. It's customary to get a chilled can with a glass filled with ice here. It held true at this location. I typically get French toast. For a while, I have been eyeing the protein breakfast. I decided to deviate from my ordering norm and went with it. You get a choice between steak or chicken. It comes with three eggs any style and a side salad. I went with chicken breast, as I had consumed a steak the night before and wanted a change. I had my eggs done over-medium. I am typically an over-hard egg eater. However, I thought that some runny eggs would be nice with chicken breast. Moments later, my food came. The shocking part was the side salad. It was so massive that it was on a full plate. I'd hate to know what a regular salad looks like. It came with salad dressing (I went with balsamic) on the side. The salad was super fresh. There was lots of crunch. I was happy with it. The protein breakfast was amazing. My over-medium eggs were done perfectly. The runny eggs were great to dip juicy cut-up cubes of chicken breast in them. The searing on the chicken breast was so flavourful. It was seasoned nicely. It came with slices of tomatoes. It was only a Monday. Yet, I felt that I had hit my tomato consumption quota for the week already. There are a couple of single-person washrooms at this restaurant. The one that I used was clean and nicely maintained. My server, Faith, was amazing. She caught the gorilla on my Kipling wallet and loved how cute he was. The sausage is sweeter than others (I enjoy this but I know it's not for everyone. The Dutch pancakes are so cute and little, coated in icing sugar, and served with maple syrup on the side to dip. Nonetheless, they do have a few sandwich options and are open at lunchtime as well. I went back to back days. Day one was the smash burger and I got 50/50 with salad and curly fries which is a nice option. The next day I did the Nashville fried chicken sandwich with the same sides. Everything was very fresh and tasted very good. Both sandwiches perhaps were missing a bit of an X factor that would have me telling people it's an absolute must visit. For example, the smashburger probably could've been a bit more savoury (even greasier) to be a true smashburger, and the Nashville chicken spice level was pretty mild. All that said, it was made fresh and very tasty too, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone either. And like I said, I didn't even try the breakfast items which is the main part of the restaurant anyway.
