I was taking a stroll through the neighbourhood with my family on one of our evening walks and…read morealong the path, we discovered a new restaurant which was Crepes and Coffee. It's situated along the busy Paisley & Imperial intersection underneath an apartment complex. I knew I had to return here in the afternoon for lunch. The inspiration behind this restaurant draws from a couple's dining experience in Europe. Here's my rundown: Food: We started off with the Coffee for Two, which came on a serving platter with a French press, 2 wafers, and 2 shots of Perrier water. The coffee was rich and it made for a unique experience with the French press. Florence - We then had one of their savoury crepes called the Florence. You had the option of getting this as a crepe or a waffle and it came drizzled with a light cream sauce, seasoned with salt, pepper & oregano. The filling had melted mozzarella and prosciutto and it was finished with field greens, cherry tomatoes, and a balsamic glaze. Overall, this was a pretty light dish! The crepe itself was slightly sweet and had a nice texture to it. Annecy - We finished with a Belgian waffle with ice cream. This came with French vanilla ice cream, strawberries, sliced bananas, nutella drizzle, and whipped cream. The presentation was beautiful and the dessert tasted very good and it wasn't too sweet. I would suggest sharing this with people as it's a little too much for one person to devour. Atmosphere: The overall vibe of the restaurant is nice. The decor is quite modern and there's a blackboard that showcases famous landmarks and places in Europe, which is the inspiration behind this restaurant. There's patio seating, high chair seating, and normal seating. There's a section that features one low-rise table and three chairs that's perfect for catching up with friends. All in all, I would say that this restaurant gives up vibes that make you feel relaxed and at home, which is what you should always feel at places like this one. Service: Service was good. The barista was really knowledgeable in the food items and recommended us all the things we ordered. The food didn't take long to come out and the barista kept checking up on us to see how we the food was and how are dining experience was. Price: The coffee for two was $7.00, savoury crepe was $12.75, and the waffle was $13.75 (it's an additional one dollar to get the waffle instead of the crepe). The price isn't too bad, especially given the great service. Verdict: Whether you're doing a stroll in the neighbourhood, catching up with friends, or just plain hungry, Crepes & Coffee is your one stop shop. They've been in business for 4 weeks now and our in the midst of experimenting with food options (they recently just introduced the savoury crepes). The west end of Guelph isn't quite known for its food or desserts so this place was definitely a nice addition to a area that's lacking desserts like crepes. Check this place out before it gets busy. One thing that you must bring is your credit or debit card as Crepes & Coffee makes an effort to try to reduce the amount of physical cash used and also went paperless. I'm giving this a 4.5 stars out of 5 mainly because of the great service, the atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the taste of the food. My two complaints are that they don't open earlier than 10am and their savoury crepe options are limited. Nevetheless, it's great to see the West End of Guelph growing when popping restaurants like this one.

Sweet treats + comfort eats = my new go-to spot!…read more If you haven't been to the D Spot Kingston Cliffside location yet... what are you doing?! This place is an absolute vibe. Of course, their legendary desserts are front and center--loaded waffles, gooey brownies, and milkshakes that are basically a meal--but what really surprised me? Their savory menu is too! We're talking poutines, pastas, sandwiches, hotdogs--legit comfort food that actually hits the spot. So whether you're sweet or salty (or a bit of both), they've got you covered. Now let me take a second to shout out Warmie, the MVP of our visit. Super friendly, welcoming, and just genuinely cool. Warmie made our experience feel like we were regulars on our first time. THAT'S the kind of service that keeps people coming back. The whole place has a chill, cozy vibe that makes you wanna linger--and with this menu, you probably will. Already planning my next visit. Stretchy pants engaged.

The desserts are absolutely massive and you can easily share 1 amongst 2 or 3 people. I got the heaven on earth waffle and it was insanely chocolatey and even after a light dinner, I couldn't finish half. Ended up freezing the leftovers and finished it over 2 days! Wife got the peanut butter banana funnel cake with twist soft serve and she enjoyed it. She almost finished it lol We probably should've shared 1 dessert between the 2 of us, but variety. Highly recommend to satisfy that sweet tooth or sugar craving that won't break the bank.

I always say I was born in the wrong era, I wish I was born when diners and milkshakes and drive ins were the popular thing to do. Well turns out history repeats itself and I am here for it. Okay back to the milkshakes and ice cream, without further ado here is my review: She's Nuts Bubble Waffle - creamy thick vanilla ice cream topped off with Nutella, chocolate sauce, nuts and a ferrero rocher. It was all wrapped in a freshly made bubble waffle! I loooved this one because I swear there are no places in Mississauga where you can get bubble waffles and now that I found them, I'm always going back hehe Unbrûléevable (creme brûlée) Milkshake - the flavours were soooo sweet with a hint of that burnt caramel, topped off with a waffle biscuit and rimmed with little chocolate ball thingies this one looked and tasted delicious! Overall I loved both the ice cream and waffle and the milkshake, they have many more flavours to try! However the desserts aren't the only thing I appreciated it, the staff here were super sweet and from what I understand it's a women owned local business! Y'all know I'm all about empowering my queens! They opened not too long ago in August 2020, just about a year now and I wish them all the luck, they are already killing it with a second location in brampton! Thank you shake it and co for the amazing desserts, friendly service and hospitality! See you ladies soon, cheers. Check them out y'all!

Tik Tok brought my friend and I here on a rainy weekend!…read more This restaurant was adorable and great for Instagram photos! It is on the smaller side, so they usually ask customers to wait outside and they'll text you when your order is ready, so they can limit the number of people inside their store. There is an overhang so you can be sheltered from the weather if you did not come by car. The menu did not disappoint! The milkshakes were creamy, tasty and so aesthetically pleasing! The iced cream does melt quickly though so it may get messy, especially in the summer. Definitely worth it though! Parking is a breeze since the store shares the medium sized parking lot with the rest of the plaza. Transit from downtown Toronto can be quite the mission however, and you'll have to transfer from TTC to MiWay.

Wafel Bar had their own little stall there, so I haven't tried the real truck, but close enough! The waffle was a traditional Liege waffle (East Belgium) and had a light and fluffy inside, while having this nice crispy texture on the outside. They had only a few other flavors, all of which were pretty expected, like the original, smores, and turtle waffles. I didn't see a single customer without a smile, even while eating their Wafel in the cold Canadian winter weather! I would try a different flavor next time, if I ever find this stall again!

I am not a big fan of desserts but I do like waffles (as long as they aren't overly sweet) so I was ok with trying this. This place deserves a 4.5 stars because yes, I enjoyed the waffle that much. My friend and I were a bit stuffed from having perogies so we went with sharing one. We got the apple of my eye and it was yummy. The apple chips are nice and all the flavours worked well together. The waffle is so delicious - especially since it is freshly made. It's not overly sweet which is a plus and is so satisfying, I honestly wanted to go back to the market the next week just to have this. I'm pretty sure I would be satisfied just eating the waffles plain with some sugar sprinkled on top.
