However as a guest, there are a couple things I want to point out... First, the ceremony setup. The bride and groom were positioned a couple steps DOWN from the majority of the rows of chairs, meaning if you were in row 4 or beyond, you couldn't see anything. I was in the second to last row and could hardly see anything. My friends in the row behind me (the last row) couldn't see anything. It was just an awkward setup for the guests. The biggest downfall of this place was their lack of restrooms. They have TWO for the entire venue... while I, myself, don't drink alcohol anymore, I'm fully aware of how it creates a constant need for use of the restroom. Many of the guests were enjoying their beers and glasses of wine, so this created long lines at the restrooms. Lastly, the gravel in the front half of the venue was a nightmare for all of us ladies in heels. My strapping stilettos were constantly getting small pebbles up under my toes and it was super uncomfortable. The dance floor and seated area for dinner, however, had turf, which was MUCH more pleasant to walk on. I wish they had this all over the venue grounds instead. Overall, the setup was nice as they had one area for the ceremony, another for cocktail hour, another for dinner/dancing and a small indoor area where the Photo Booth was set up. Additionally, the bridal suite (which I didn't actually see for myself) was upstairs, which gave the bride a birds eye view of the guests as they arrived. Pretty cool! I think a few small adjustments would make this place a five star experience for everyone involved!

Unfortunately for me, this is also by the kitchen is located, so when the caterers were cleaning up, I was a little distracted from my guest speakers by the clanking of dishes and cleanup in the back. If you were looking to book for a wedding, where music would be playing, I don't think the cleanup would impact your event. The microphone system (which I don't know if it was provided by the venue or by my organization) was a little low volume for what we needed. My husband and I chose Heights Villa for our 40th Wedding Vow Renewal on July 12, 2026. We began planning in February and met with the venue several times. During every meeting, we discussed our vision, requested pricing for décor, and watched detailed notes being taken. Unfortunately, it became clear that little of what we discussed was actually documented or executed. One of our biggest frustrations was the lack of transparency. We repeatedly asked for pricing throughout the planning process, yet on the day of our event we were shown an "upgraded" room and told that certain décor would require additional charges. Those conversations should have happened months before the event--not hours before our guests arrived. The décor did not reflect the vision we spent months planning. We requested red flowers, but received fuchsia accents that were never corrected despite assurances they would be. Our sweetheart table looked incomplete, one of the two decorative trees we requested was missing, and we received only a few easels for family photos after repeatedly asking for them. The day-of execution was equally disappointing. We were told there would be a large team available to prepare the venue and complete a 30-minute room flip. Instead, we only saw two men cleaning for several hours. I even watched décor being assembled just hours before the ceremony began. The venue itself was not ready for guests. There was a strong urine odor throughout the building, including the restrooms, which also lacked paper towels for much of the event. The bridal and groom suites were not cleaned properly, the bar area was cluttered with what appeared to be leftovers from a previous event, and spills throughout the venue often went unattended. Perhaps the most disappointing issue was the ceremony space. We were never told the air conditioning was not working properly. Our guests were visibly uncomfortable and had to fan themselves throughout the ceremony. We also had to request additional chairs despite the venue knowing for months that we expected approximately 200 guests. We even reported a large puddle caused by the air conditioning unit, but it was never addressed. Communication also declined significantly after our final payment was made. Calls and text messages often went unanswered, and there was very little urgency when we needed assistance on the day of the event. We were also informed at the last minute that our guests could not park in the parking lot until 30 minutes before the event, creating unnecessary confusion. While we are incredibly grateful to have celebrated 40 years of marriage surrounded by family and friends, we are deeply disappointed by the planning, communication, professionalism, and execution provided by Heights Villa. This was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that deserved much better. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements so future couples and families do not experience the same disappointments we did.

The cocktails, sponsored by Gentleman No. 3, were refreshing with fresh watermelon and mint. The small bites (mac and cheese with collard greens, deviled eggs, and jerk chicken) made for the perfect happy hour snack. I genuinely love El Dorado and the range of programming they offer. When you can experience culture, creativity, and community all under one roof, it's a true neighborhood gem. With Kindred Stories moving into the building and ongoing art exhibits, the space just keeps growing. El Dorado makes it easy to learn from your neighbors and get to know them too.

There is close to 10,000 sq ft of usable space, complete with bathrooms, a waiting / welcome area, bar area, prep kitchen, high ceilings, and function rooms (changing / lounging) and is completely ADA accessible with ramps. While the Wi-Fi and ventilation are a bit on the weak side, I am pleased they're still options. As with many centrally based venues, parking may require coordination for larger attended events, though I suspect the neighboring brewery (#1) may end up taking many of the spots. The neighborhood setting definitely adds to the space's creative energy and being next to a popular BBQ place (#2) doesn't hurt either.
