lounge chairs and a thatched roof

Sit at the bar. Or in our case, grab chairs at the beach. Walk to the tiki hut-- no waiter service -- order your drinks, return fifteen minutes later for food you may have ordered. And enjoy the view. Now that we're Floridians -- at least in the winter -- this seemed like a lovely way to spend the day. The place is casual, laid back. A musician was singing Jimmy Buffett-type songs. Not all that hungry, T and I shared a burger. Pretty good! Medium rare -- as I like it -- with lettuce, tomato, onions and crisp fries. Our pina coladas were light on rum, but enjoyable. Not worth complaining. Sit back and relax.

I always like a good tiki bar! This bar is literally in the sand and makes for the best setting to sit and enjoy a cocktail. The service was great and you can't beat the views. I took my drink to the chairs next to the water and enjoyed every sip. This is a place where if you need to feel like you're on vacation, even if home is right down the street, the second you sit down you're there! What a great spot!

The service was good but not the beach five friendly come back and see is hang out. Stay a while. They were more about getting a drink getting a food and moving on. Not a bad thing. Would like to see a little bit more of a Florida beach vibe in the future. I will definitely be back afterall, I live in Punta Gorda.

A relatively new Tiki bar adjacent to The Fisherman's Village Pier and the Peace River, it's quite large, and they make a nice margarita. A nice margarita.

This is what they called a charcuterie board.

Open on Saturday despite Yelp saying it's closed. I'm here right now. Great service by Katy!

Our bartenders Elise, Kennedy and Serina did hell of job recognizing us and serving us.

I visited on two consecutive nights and had vastly different experiences…read more On the first visit, I dined in and was immediately acknowledged by our server, who was attentive throughout the meal, frequently checking on my drink and ensuring we were comfortable. Even when we accidentally stayed past closing time, she politely informed us without making us feel rushed. The food itself was decent--not exceptional, but very reasonable for the price. The second day, I opted for takeout and had a completely different experience. I walked in and sat at the same table, but no one acknowledged me for about 15-20 minutes, despite there being only one other occupied table in the restaurant. Just as I was about to leave and find another place to eat, a server rushed over to apologize for the delay. When my order was ready, a different employee was about to mistakenly give it to another table. When he offered it to me and I inquired about the order to make sure it was mine, he admitted he wasn't sure and had to check. A few minutes later, yet another person simply asked if I had ordered takeout and handed me the bag. At this point, I waited another 5-10 minutes just to pay. When the original server finally returned, he asked if I had checked the contents of the bag--a strange question, considering it should be their responsibility to ensure accuracy. I took the server's question at face value, but it's very possible that they were being sarcastic. At that point, it didn't matter what was in the bag. I had to leave to go work. Again, the food was acceptable. However, it was not worth the wait and hassle. Though the first visit was fine, the poor service the very next day was remarkable. To make things worse, the restaurant didn't even include utensils in the bag. It's well apparent that some of the staff could benefit from training. When reviewing restaurants on Yelp, I think it's important to set fair expectations based on the type of establishment. This place seems geared towards a lively atmosphere, so I adjusted my expectations accordingly. However, even considering the dining category, certain standards should still be met Lastly, a restaurant that is capable of providing such subpar service probably shouldn't prompt for a minimum 25% tip on takeout orders at their credit card terminal. That was laughable and I am at least grateful for having a good laugh on the way out.

It may not be bright and shiny but it's worth the stop. We had chips and salsa about 2 minutes after we sat down. The server was polite and answered all my questions and did not steer me wrong. I think the burrito was big enough for 3 and I got a to- go box to proof it. They had a local band that was primarily country, so that only made it better. You could easily drive by and miss it, or you can watch for the bright light and listen for the musicians.

Everything was timely. We had the table-side guacamole, but they didn't prepare it table-side. It was still very good. Entrees were very good. It is quite loud but that doesn't bother me a bit if the food is good. Chips and salsa were outstanding. I couldn't get enough of those chips because they were nice and salty and I loved that. The salsa was so much better than I have gotten in years in a Mexican restaurant. Our server Anthony from Jamaica was incredible. Enjoyed his interpretation and personal favorites on the menu. I would definitely ask to sit in his area. Extremely personable but not over the top. We had the snapper tacos to start. They were tasty and I especially liked the pickled onions. They are definitely an appetizer and not an entree. I had the Yucatan shrimp with crispy onions and cilantro lime rice and my partner had the beef barbacoa burrito with rice and black beans. I clearly had the winning dish. The shrimp was a generous portion and worth the 32 dollars. Shrimp were huge and cooked perfectly with a delicious mojo sauce and crispy onions along with the tasty rice that had great textures and the sauce made that dish sing. Outstanding! My husband's burrito was fine but the tortilla had somewhat of a bready texture, not at all like a tortilla and there was a spice in it that I did not care for. Couldn't identify it and I have been to Mexico over 20 times. My husband liked it fine. He enjoyed his beer but I felt like that wine pour was definitely chintzy for 13 bucks. It was a delightful evening and an asset to the area. But once again, my dish was the clear winner!!! For whatever reason my photos aren't loading due to the glitches cellphones have had today, but I will add them as soon as this issue is resolved. Enjoy!
