This is by far the best teriyaki place in all of the Graham/South Hill/Puyallup area! I went there for dinner tonight with some friends. This is not the first time I have been here, and every time it is consistently wonderful. I had the sweet & sour chicken tonight. For $7.45, you get a huge plate of perfectly battered and fried chicken pieces, served with sweet & sour sauce. The chicken is battered when you order it, and there was so much on the plate I was able to have a second meal out of it. One of my friends had the shrimp & vegetable tempura, which was equally as stunning! The other had the chicken and beef combination plate, and after trying their meat I am hooked! I will not be going to any other teriyaki joint in this area! Not when I can get such wonderfully prepared food and good service right around the corner! read more

the Chicken yakisoba is great. You can always count on Suns Teriyaki. They have good food. You call in your order and get your food quickly and it's hot when you get it back home. The only thing is the staff lady isn't the friendlyist person. But I really think that she is so busy and wouldn't doubt that she is there most the time so I quess she could use a break. Second Teriyaki place we have tried in South Hill and our second huge disappointment. First danger sign, the cook was white! But my wife decided to take a chance anyway. Bad move! The chicken was burnt, rubbery and tasteless. The sauce was your run-of-the-mill sticky sweet gloppy mess. The fried rice was terrible. Completely un-seasoned and beyond bland! The egg rolls were the typical frozen bulk Costco variety. The wonton soup included two withered wontons in a basic chicken stock. The only reason they get one star was for the kimchi. For those not in the know, almost every Teriyaki joint in the South Sound is run by Koreans. This is usually a great thing. But we have NEVER been to a Teriyaki joint with a white cook. Epic fail!! Service was awful. We were the 1st out of 6th in line, but watched every single person get their food before us. When I asked why were served last the lady said because we ordered short ribs which takes a long time to cook. So in the time it takes to make an order of short ribs, the chef was also able to make 5 other dishes. I don't think so. It should be 1st come, 1st serve. Awful! We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and a chicken teriyaki. The only good thing about the meals was the steamed rice. Pretty hard to mess up. The chicken teriyaki was pretty much sauce less and rubbery. The sweet and sour chicken was either really old and just warmed up when I ordered, or maybe that's how the do it. It was all hard and barely edible, it even broke my plastic fork they gave me! The sweet and sour sauce was in a separate bowl, and instead of using the typical veggies in the sauce (carrots,onions, green peppers) they threw one of each on the top. Friendly service and huge portions. We ordered the Yakisoba beef, teriyaki spare ribs, chicken katsu, and egg rolls. All were great. I wasn't too fond of the katsu sauce ( spiced ketchup sauce), but the chicken part was great without it. I would definitely order from here again. The value is good for the amount of food. We barely put a dent in any of the dishes, and gave plenty left over. The food was ready in 15 minutes. It didn't have an old taste to it, which was a pleasant surprise. read more

Update: After going there a couple more times. The food is ok. Average. The lady up front, Asian lady was rude to new faces. "What you want?" I ordered $50 of food to go and got lots of food for the money, but I can care less about the attitude. Your customer service skills need to be polished. I decided to try other places. Sun is the owner and she is most helpful. We would take our 3 boys in and she would fix us the family platter which is really great when you bring kids in. There is a little bit of everything on the platter and so we could all take what we want. Many cold winter days we came in and had hot tea and a good meal. read more

This place is great! I am a low-carb eater, so I always skip the rice and ask for steamed veggies when I get teriyaki. Other places in town won't give you veggies in place of the rice, and some don't even have veggies!, but Sun's substitutes it for me and doesn't even upcharge for it. In addition, a teriyaki chicken order costs about $8, but they give you a TON of chicken - way more than other places in town. And it's delicious! Their yaki soba is wonderful, too. So good!
