With his help I was able to hone in on my most important priorities and take steps to achieve them--steps that had felt paralyzing and unachievable before. For the first time in a long time I feel like I am actually living, not just trying to keep up with life as it goes racing by.

Permission to live life on my terms Working with Ryan felt…read morevery comfortable from the start; he's easy to connect with, patient, and encouraging, - yet gently held me accountable and moving forward. I reached out to Ryan after reading about his experience while hiking the Appalachian Trail and intrinsically knew that he was the person who I needed to guide me with his insight to give myself permission to live the life I've always known was meant for me, but had been resisting and feeling tethered down by external influences and lack of validation. I never felt judged by Ryan, only acceptance and the reassurance that I desperately needed to hear while making challenging life changing decisions, which aren't as simple to do when you're in your 40's and settled. I've learned that complacency is like quicksand; it's a false comfort that sneaks in and tries to blind us from challenging ourselves to living the life we truly desire. Ryan helped me navigate around that trap by giving me the self-confidence and structure to stride boldly through the "unknowns". I feel alive again, knowing I won't be wondering where life went in another 40 years.

I have been to many classes in many places, incl NYC, and StillPoint rates as one of the best. The teachers are knowledgable, attentive, challenging and patient. I attended classes with Kate and Delia. Both have a wonderful ability to adapt poses and flows to all levels and they offered insightful adjustments not only to me but to other students. They make the classes about being your best given where you are that day and with your practice. The broad range of students (women and men, young and senior) are longtime regulars and it shows - their practices are sound and committed. And, even though I was a new face, they made me feel very welcome - no judgment and no competition. Stillpoint will be my regular studio every time I am in the area and in fact I'll build some day trips around attending.

But that means this is a location where they spend a lot of time and energy making sure the kids are comfortable. If you're going to spend money, if you're going to affect your schedule, if you have to spend time then it better be at a place where your kids will walk out of there with smiles.. I am sold, I have been to a lot of dojos and this will go down as one of the best ones I've been to in the last 3 years that I have been doing Judo. I liked it all the kids that were in these classes seems like they were having fun, and they were paying attention. Clean and opened up with natural lighting, lightly scented with a heavenly aroma that eased my breathing instantly...the energy is just right! They have matts and props to borrow (free of charge!) that are kept in great condition and a restroom if you need to change. This being my first Yoga session ever, I was worried about my own capabilities, but Nancy made it such a fulfilling first experience! As soon as I walked in the studio, I was kindly welcomed and introduced to the studio set-up. Nancy guided me (and the class) through each position with great instructions and tips. She gave plenty of attention to each of the students which is something you don't always get in other classes/studios. I probably didn't get the poses right but just after one session, I am breathing better and my body feels sturdy! Can't wait to go back. Thank you for the great session! Additional note: They take reservations online ($12/session) or you can just drop-in ($10/session). They also offer packages for multiple visits.
