It had some improvements, but one big issue for me is last year they were without hot water for at least a month. They basically didn't communicate when asked what's going on and just kept implying. They were waiting on a contractor. For hot water that's ridiculous. Eventually they got it fixed but once again it is down now and they are not responding with an update. Most people I'm sure don't use the showers so it doesn't impact them as much but no hot water. You could only imagine how clean this place. It's disgusting and ownership should be ashamed

From these two experiences I can sadly say this gym was not for me. Much of the equipment is in poor to very poor condition. One of the ellipticals had broken handles with jagged edges, a cable machine had broken prices scattered on the floor around it, and many machines have duct taped tears. The downstairs is a dungeon and the music is hilariously LOUD. I support local businesses as often as I can, and while the staff was very kind and helpful, this gym is kind of a dump.

You are constantly treated and talk down to as if you were a child. Also they video and audio record your conversations and if they don't like what you say, they in return make your time spent there awful. When I first joined years ago, it was unlimited classes, and then it became limited, which sucked but now there are no large group classes moving forward. However instead of 12 classes a week for $85 a month, it will now be only one class a week, for 8 weeks, for $150. That would be $9200 for 8 weeks if still going by their original class sched. Which is completely insane and setting you up for failure or major debt, especially in this economy. This is all because they are extremely money hungry and only want to cater to the people who will drop several hundred dollars a month on their lackluster gym that does not even have actual gym equipment. Members who have been there since the beginning, and helped her business grow, are treated as if they never even mattered and just told they can go elsewhere. They don't care about their members as a whole, they just see you as dollar signs and what benefits they can get out of their high ranking members whom are in the community. Also, they are advertised as a women's fitness club, but they have coed yoga, where random men are constantly coming into the building and peering in your classes while you are in your classes, which defeats the purpose of a womens fitness club. I joined for half the price I was paying for my membership prior. unfortunately, something happened between the insurance company and the gym and they did not receive my payment information and the gym continue to charge me $50 a month for June in July. I never received a phone call to discuss what happened and I texted a member of the gym who was trying to figure out what was happening and was told that I needed to call the insurance company and try to get my money refunded to me for June. This is not how it works. Needless to say this gym preaches Christian values and I don't see anything Christian like. I'm still waiting for a phone call from the owners of the gym to discuss what needs to happen next. And active and Fit insurance company was to reach out to the gym on my behalf.

Black Bear fitness Kickboxing bootcamp can definitely be a butt kicking class…read more This location is still closed indoors because of COVID, but that hasn't stopped then in the current outdoors eating phase of the pandemic to offer outdoor work outs, properly socially distancing. Talk about the extra sweat you put out when there is no AC to help cool you down during activity. This 4th of July weekend I happened to be with my brother and his wife/my sister-in-law was taking advantage of their outdoor morning Kickboxing bootcamp. She knows I love a good workout and don't shy away, even when on vacation to get one in. They had the extra space so for a small cost I was able to lock in the spot and attend as a visiting guest of hers. The young lady that instructed the class [daughter of owners] was super energetic and engaged throughout the entire workout showing and motivating all to put out what they could and more. If I lived close to this location, I would totally be making it my home gym. I could only image how great all on the inside is, but if the workouts are as good/better than the one I had outdoors, I'd be hooked for sure.
