DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE They scream and physically assault children. The director will do nothing to help I walked in on a teacher screaming at my kids and then she started to scream at my one-year-old daughter. The teachers here overworked have anger issues and do not care about the kids.. I made multiple police reports and the director covered it up by saying my child was autistic when the son was injured was not. My son was kicked in the face by a teacher. And instead of the director looking into it like she said she was going to she made excuses and lied to the that my child had mental disabilities and wasn't able to tell the truth. Walked in for our scheduled tour and the girl at the front immediately told us that "the wait list would be quite a while" as the first thing said and pointed to the white board on the wall. No introduction as to her name, role, or still offering to do a tour as a prospective family interested in signing up for a future date. At that point my husband and I decided the first impression was enough for us to just walk out. Such a shame as we had a solid interest in learning more. Hopefully the owners see these reviews and perhaps provide some type of training to the personnel in charge of welcoming and touring prospective families. I'd also recommend advertising that when booking tours online if you aren't going to be welcoming of offer the information families are looking for. My family started using this Sunrise in 2018 for after school care for my oldest child and signed my youngest up in 2019 for her infant class. We attended the school until 2021 when we left due to the pandemic. I have nothing but good things to say about this school, so in 2023 when I needed a pre-school for my youngest again, we returned. There were a lot of the same people present and those who were not there had promoted to other locations. I would highly recommend this location to any family if I was asked where to attend a preschool. read more

The times that I have dropped my Grandson off at this school I have received unprofessional behavior from the Director Renea Rodriguez. She addressed issues of my Grandson in front of the staff, children and other parents. She has no business being Director of a preschool. She is either inadequate or racist to her own race. The many suspension my 5 year old Grandson received regarding his behavior was not handled in a matter to help him but to make him feel bullied. She should be removed from her position before she breaks a childs self esteem. read more

Great staff. Very helpful and will go above and beyond to help out answer any questions and concerns we have regarding our child. The teachers in the classrooms are great with the kids my child always comes home talking about what his teacher taught him. Run this is the Worst school ever!! Don't bring your kids here!!! Let me start with director Rena Rodriguez she has been very disrespectful and is not some one who should be running a daycare at all, she's refused to give me her boss phone number so i can complain about her actions and behavior towards me and my family, she has hung up on me , she decided to kick my child out of the daycare because the felt like it, it's been bullshit with this school from day 1 , instead of acknowledging the good days that my son has been having, she's be been acknowledging the bad ones, my kid has been trying very hard to be good at this school but everytime Grandma drops him off in the morning the whole staff gives her and my son a really bad attitude especially the director, which is not appropriate and not a good look at all!!!!!! nothing but bad spirits in that place and my son feels all that negative energy which is why I believe he started having some behavioral problems, the school needs a new director in the office who loves her job , loves kids and greets the parents with a positive attitude when they walk in, read more

The teachers in the baby room never seem happy. They're always nice to parents, not talkative but nice - but never seem truly happy in that room. You never see them holding babies or smiling often. They rely on the bouncers and swings to soothe babies instead of just holding them more. I'm not sure if it's internal drama or why the employees are so unhappy but it made me uncomfortable with my baby being there. read more

This school is inconsistent. Will send notifications to parents about events that the child did that day before they ever do it. For insitince I have received several notifications of my son napping for two hours from 12pm to 2pm but it is only 11 am. If you are going to send a notification please make it accurate. My childs things were thrown up on by another student and I wasn't notified until I came in looking for his things in a cubby. Better yet it was still in the dirty clothes basket left over night. When we left the school they had a hard time finding a blanket of his, as well as his backup clothes that had been taken out of his bag and never used on him, so I'm not sure why it was taken out and neither was the head teacher. The toys outside and in the classroom are old broken and extremely dirty, as if they are never replaced. The teachers never seem happy and there are way too many different random people in and out of each classroom that parents don't know. When my child first started I introduced myself to the 3 teachers in the class they in response said ok. And oh were not normally in your child's classroom. And did not introduce themselves, it should not matter if you are not normally there. You at some point in the day have interaction with my little one so I should know who you are. The director has a lot on her plate and works between multiple locations and quite frankly I don't think she has a good pulse on what is happening in her preschool. I love this school! From the ladies in the office to the teachers in the classroom, this school is the best! My children have been coming to this school for over 4 years and I can not say enough great things about it! They are now in the school age program, and love school breaks because they get to go on field trips with their Sunrise friends. Security is very poor here. Front door is often left open, I walked in my first week 3 times with no one at the front desk and door wide open. Also had issues with the front staff not caring about security. Picked up little one and had dried poop all over, like down her pants and diaper. We will never send another child there ever. read more

This school has been by far my favorite preschool we've attended. Only one of my four kids have gone here and we've been the most pleased with the care she receives. Everyone at the school is like a family and they treat you like family. We've been here about a year and I'm sad for my daughter to be going to kindergarten and not come here anymore. I will miss the staff so much! My daughter is super shy and Miss Debbie and Miss Anissah in the preschool room have been so amazing at getting her to open up and communicate better. She used to hate school and now looks forward to it just bc of how well she likes her teachers. It's made a difference in my life by making it easy to leave her when I have to work. The director Jenn and assistant director Ashley have been the most amazing as well. They have been super flexible and understanding in all situations. When our family was struggling they went beyond my expectations and provided a meal for a family as a way to give back. They are truly an amazing team and have been part of our family by helping raise our daughter. She has changed so much in just a year but I wish I had found this place sooner! I have been going to Sunrise preschool for over two and a half years and have always loved it (my son is 3 1/2). We recently switched to this location. I had very high hopes for this location as it looks GREAT and everything seems very state of the art. We were very excited to start here. NOW, I have many concerns regarding this particular school and their practices. I explained to the director that my son is being tested for Autism and learning disabilities and that I do not feel that he understands every time he has done something wrong. She said we have autistic kids here and his issues are not the same. Her attitude was that she was basically diagnosing him and acting like I was stupid for suggesting it. Last time I checked, a receptionist is not a clinical psychologist, I felt she was WAY out of line. I explained to the director that they did timeouts in the last location he was in and they help immensely with my child, she told me they do not do time outs in a school as it's not possible (they do them at the 19th Ave and Osborn location). Although they want to talk to me every time my child has done so much as knock over some legos (literally), they seem to be unwilling to do anything about helping us work with him. The teachers in the school do not help half the time you are leaving and your child is upset, they do not stop what they are doing or help console your child as it says they do in the handbook. One day I looked back and my child had left the classroom and was running down the hallway chasing after me, the teacher was still in the classroom quietly reading a book when I returned with him. The behavioral notes I get for my son are full stories, from beginning to end, the teacher never seems to intervene in a situation until it has escalated and someone has gotten injured. Even then, they only step in to tell everyone what they have done wrong and do nothing to redirect the child or help them learn from their mistakes. My son has started coming home and telling me that he is a bad kid and got bit, slapped, or hit but refuses to tell me who. I have now removed my child from the school after MANY meetings with the directors did nothing and a call and complaint to their corporate office went unanswered. He has one week left there and I feel guilty every day I have to leave him with these people. If it wasn't for the mandatory week notice, he wouldn't be there now at all. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. I was worried about leaving my 2 year old in someone elses hands for over 8 hours a day while I work. He has been at Sunrise Preschool for over 2 months now and is doing great! I feel the staff really cares about the children and they keep the kids safe and my son is always bringing home crafts that he made and he tells me about his friends, he does come home with a few "ouch reports", but that is to be expected as kids get hurt and kids are still learning, as far as scratching,biting,etc., it is hard as a mom to not be there to witness these things as you want to protect your child and comfort your child ,but they handle things very well and let you know what goes on. Also, The lunches are made fresh on site and are very well balanced and kid friendly. I like Sunrise Preschool because I feel that they care about having friendly reliable staff and that they do there best to make sure not only the child is happy, but the parents too. read more

I was very anxious putting my son in preschool almost 2.5 years ago when he was 2 since I'd been home with him for the first year and he was in in home daycare the second year. However, I have been very pleased with Sunrise Preschools. Christine is amazing and does a great job knowing every child's name and their parents. The teachers have all been amazing as well. My son is very shy and struggled with separation at first. All of his teachers comforted him and helped him deal with his anxieties. He has formed bonds with all the teachers and it's great to hear him talk about the friends he's made. The school does a great job in teaching him skills he'll need for reading and preparig him for school. I definitely recommend this school to anyone who asks. Our daughter has been going here for 2 years and loves it! The teachers are caring and very qualified - she has learned so much, and the managers are on top of everything! They follow the core curriculum and mix it very well with activities and other opportunities to learn. And the cleanliness is way beyond any other daycare facility we have been in.
