You receive the professional childcare service with a loving intimate family feel. Laura and John truly have dedicated their lives (and home) to loving and caring for children and you can feel and see how passionate they are about it. Their whole downstairs and backyard is set-up for the children and is safe and clean with lots of activities and toys. My daughter loves the preschool time and has learned so much. She's always rehearsing and showing me what she's learned at home. She also raves about Ms. Laura's cooking and I feel that she has gotten less picky because all of the children are eating the same things and together. Seeing the love my daughter has for Ms. Laura says it all for me. I also really liked the values they spoke of. In the beginning things started out amazing and then quickly just went downhill and looking back I realize a lot now I didn't notice at the time we were with the school. And to be fair, teachers like Ms. Andrea and Ms. Theresa (often in the front office) are truly wonderful. But overall, the experience was disappointing especially with the Director Ms. Jennifer and how different things were from what's promised. First, the outdoor learning was one of the biggest things we were excited about, but when my child clearly desired/needed more time outside than inside, it was a constant issue. I was told staffing made it difficult, which goes against everything they promote online. Other programs like "live animal enrichment" and "preschool philanthropy"were talked about but didn't actually exist at all the 2024/2025 school year. And with the lower elementary program shutting down this next year (2025/2026), it of course raised red flags about the school's stability. There's also limited childcare, no after school care, no break care, and only 16 summer spots I was told. Again very different than their online promises. Bringing it back to the hardest part though, our interaction with the Director. I heard about not great interactions had with her but it wasn't until we neared ending our time with the school I finally experienced it first hand. When I had tried to advocate for my son/family, I was met with coldness, defensiveness, and zero empathy. I mean zero. Felt like professional gaslighting at its finest. Instead of working with me, I was told my son was just "no longer a fit." She seemed to be avoiding discomfort rather than doing what was best for my son. And looking back there was a pattern of families being pushed out when they advocated too much. There's also a noticeable lack of diversity, and manyyy kids were encouraged to get IEPs only to later be told they don't belong there any more because Greenhouse couldn't work with them. Lots of kids dropped like flies from the programs. It made me question how much they really support inclusion and individualized learning (like they claim). I really wanted to believe in this school. But the gap between their online image and reality is too big to ignore. I hope in the future they make the necessary changes to be fully in alignment with their promises because they do have great potential and loving teachers.

My son is in the upper 3-year-old class there and it's by far the best daycare/preschool I've been to in the area. And trust me, I went to a LOT as I researched schools. This facility is right on the Banner Baywood campus, and it was originally available only to Banner employees. It has recently opened to everyone, which I assume is because there weren't enough Banner-only kids in this economic climate. I don't work for Banner, so I'm glad we were able to get in. Here are the things I like about this place: Ratio: Their ratios are lower than the state-mandated ones that most child care centers around here adhere to. In my son's room, for example, the ratio is 10:1 instead of the state-mandated 13:1. Food: They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to the kids, which is great because I HATE making lunches for my son. He's only there for lunch, but the food has been really good. They serve the ever-present chicken nuggets, of course, but they also have things like spaghetti, BBQ sandwiches, scalloped potatoes, green beans, fruit, milk. They'll do fun things during snack time like serve popsicles on hot days, and I don't mind at all. Cleanliness. I don't know, maybe it's because this place is affiliated with a hospital, but it is really clean. Like, cleaner than any place I've seen. They provide kids with bedsheets for naptime, and they wash the sheets every night. Crazy. Activities. Children's Choice almost has a Montessori-like feel in the number and variety of activities they give kids to do independently. There's very much a choose-your-own-adventure feel to the classroom, where the teacher sets up various stations and the kids pick what they want to do. My son was looking at fake bugs through a microscope one day. He fingerpaints. He plays educational games on the computer. He plays in the kitchen. He buries seashells in sand. They sit down for structured time, too, like story time, but I like the variety of free play materials. Playground. The playground is HUGE. And once a week in the summer they have "water day" where kids can go play in the sprinklers. Security. There's serious security here. Video cameras around all the entrances. Secret access codes for everyone. Computerized check-in and out. I feel pretty safe about leaving my son there. Staff: The ladies that work there actually seem happy. That's a big improvement from the last school my son was briefly at before I found this place. The director is really nice and helpful. So yeah, I like it. I felt that my child was in the best learning environment to get a head start for Kindergarten. Unfortunately, the quality has gone down hill. Their record keeping for the billing has been a complete mess, and I have been overcharged several times. Callie does not provide assistance in a timely manner, and it has now been three months without a refund. This would have never been the case in past years. Billing issues were resolved quickly and accurately. The quality of the teaching staff has also diminished. Previously, they employed teachers with degrees in the field and strong teaching backgrounds. Nowadays, I'm lucky to receive a daily reports on my child's day. I have brought this issue to the Director's attention 4 times, and it still continues to be an issue. I am very sad to realize that I will be very glad when my youngest starts Kindergarten, and we are done using this childcare center. They still have many good qualities and are perhaps still better than some of the other large centers, but they are not nearly as good a program as they used to be.
