Kinderbugs has been an amazing school for our daughter and son's academic and personal development. This is our sons first year of preschool, he started at two years old we are so impressed by how much his speech has improved. She has excelled so much that she is skipping a grade and going right to kinder prep. I am SO glad I found Kinderbugs when we did! Our youngest was 5 and needing to start K. We had toured other schools but none felt right to myself or my son. Then we found Kinderbugs. I will say I was originally really happy with this school and anticipated my child attending here until she went to kindergarten. That being said, I quickly learned in the 4 months we were there that this business is poorly run and I am very glad we decided to pull her. First and foremost, safety. Only a handful of staff in the building are CPR and First Aid certified. I learned that one of the assistant teachers in my child's classroom was not certified and occasionally he was left alone with the kids. This is of major concern considering one of their prizes in the treasure box is a major choking hazard (lollipops for 2 year olds). Kinderbugs has also had a recent violation of not having valid fingerprint clearance cards for all staff in the building. In addition, they have recent violations of over capacity. You can fact check these deficiencies at www.azcarecheck.com. Additionally, a student that we know came home with a major cut on his face and no staff member called his parent or could recollect what happened to him. Finances: Sheila, the owner of this business, has a major financial agenda and could care less about the happiness of the consumer. I have several examples of this. For one, they really pressure you to enroll for the next school year early (we had only been there 2 weeks when enrollment started). We were pressured to enroll in the 3's class (4 days a week and about $100 more than what we were currently paying). Quickly after we enrolled (with a nonrefundable enrollment deposit), we were told they wanted to keep our child in the 2's group but 4 days a week (we were currently doing 2 days a week, 4 days would be just shy of under $600 a month). This felt extremely suspicious that they were just wanting us to go with a class that provided the most revenue. When we decided to unenroll for the 2021 school year, Sheila refused to honor her very own financial contract in regard to unenrolling. Aside from our story, we know a family who paid up front for an entire school year and Sheila refused a refund to them when they closed for COVID, and their student could not return when they reopened because of a medical condition. She also required that people continued to pay their tuition through their COVID closure. And the least of my concerns, but still worth mentioning, is that this school is unreliable. They provided us with a Scholastic Book Club order form that would provide the school with money for books that were ordered. We decided to order and by the time 2 months rolled around without receiving anything, it turned out that Sheila never submitted the group order and did not communicate this information with families. If you've made it this far, I hope you can make an educated decision about sending your child to Kinderbugs. I will make sure that my friends and family members know about the issues with this school and do not send their children here. read more

We have been very happy with our experience at Kinderbugs this past year. My four-year-old has learned so much in the five months or so that she's been in attendance. She is READING (and loves it), she is counting to over 100, is learning Spanish, but most of all she is happy! She absolutely loves going to school and spending time with her peers and her teacher. Kinderbugs is a bit pricey and definitely pricier than most of the other preschools in the area. I wish they offered a full day program for pre-K instead of just four days a week of 3 1/2 hours. This school needs to get it together. After calling 4 times over the course of two weeks I finally received a call back during week 3! We set up a tour for our 3 year old son to hopeful attend the school. When we entered I thought we would get a warm greeting, but instead we were greeted with a new stale hello and no acknowledgement to our son! She showed us two classes; "this is the 4 year old room, this is the 5 year old room. Any questions?" Uhhh yes my son is only 3, where would he be? My oldest daughter started off at Kinderbugs in the 3 day a week program, and then went into the Pre-K program, and is currently in the Kindergarten program. My son has been at Kinderbugs since he was two years old. He is far beyond his peers in academics because of the love and effort of Kinderbugs. They taught my son to read when he was three! They do such a great job with Spaulding and Saxon math. I have no doubt that my little boy will succeed in elementary school. Kinderbugs is more than just academics though.
