I had an overall great experience here. The doctor and the assistant were very nice and explained everything that was happening before they did it. They checked in during my cleaning and asked if I was comfortable, needed a break etc. The only negative review I have is the covid and check in/put procedures are absolutely over the top. You check in and sit by the front door instead of the main lobby. After you are done you sit in the main lobby and can't approach the front desk. So you are scheduling an appointment from sitting in your chair 10 feet from the receptionist? Then they walk over to collect payment and you put it on a clipboard. The whole thing is too much and awkward. As soon as the health facility covid restrictions are lifted and if this place is enforcing it after I won't be returning. I am fine wearing a mask no problem, but all the extra procedures are way too much. read more

Dr. Kwon gave me my smile back! After years of avoiding going to the dentist that was exacerbated by the pandemic, Dr. Kwon and his staff helped take care of me without adding to my own guilt and shame. The staff were all kind and accommodating, seeing me quickly for a bad tooth ache, and helping set up a treatment plan to fix all my dental issues, clearly laying out the steps, getting me scheduled along the way, and getting it all done more quickly than I expected. I just posted a rather negative review of this dental office. I take health care very seriously and feel not enough people speak up when they have a bad experience. The review has been deleted for two reasons, (1) an error on my part relating to the cost, and (2) a call from the dentist that provided some clarification and insight into what they are doing and how they would like to practice. This is what good health care needs, doctors that are willing to take 10 - 15 min to talk to their patients and care what they need. I have been a patient at Sunrise Dental in Mill Creek for as long as I can remember. In the beginning my visits consisted of a of the basic Cavities, and some root Canals, and routine check-ups. From the moment you walk in the office you are made to feel welcome, and it continues until the moment you walk out. Without thinking too much about it until now, That's one of many reasons that I most likely continue to be a patient at Sunrise Dental. Without going into my situation too much, and having to be careful about what you discuss publicly, and to be fair to Dr. Kwon, I will remain quiet about that. But, I will say I was put in an unbelievable and terrible Dental situation with a well-known, nationwide Dental Implant Center. I was basically forced to abandon my care from this Center completely. Of course I did not get the end result (which was my teeth, they had all my funds because I of course paid in advance. Needless to say, I had a huge ordeal getting some of my money back, but I did. But, it took 3 years to figure out what to do. I would like to add... 3 years of having no front teeth. It was devastating living with no front teeth, and I am still regaining my self-confidence. There is a part of me that I feel I never will get back. My advice to anyone needing implants. Try to read through the lines with my review, It's not difficult to probably know what Dental Center I am speaking of. So, my advice is to seek other avenues for serious Dental matters. Stay away from any strictly implant only centers. Yes this is my opinion, It's really upsetting that this happened to me, and it was awful This is where I shall begin my feelings of Sunrise Dental, Dr. Kwon, Jennifer, his office manager. Jennifer is a very professional and she genuinely cares and is an asset to Dr. Kwon, I'm sure he is quite aware of this, but I believe that she should always be reminded. Please forgive me but, I know there are 2 gals working up front, I just don't know her as well, or communicate with her as much. But, I must say that the staff of Sunrise Dental are more than just friendly, I consider them my friends, and please I know this may sound a bit over the top, but it's true, Dr. Kwon immediately took me under his "wing" and started speaking about how to make plans and make this shell of a person I had become, have hope. That's an understatement too. I had 3 different estimates with 3 different type Dentists, and Sunrise Dental was the last estimate. Dr. Kwon gave me an estimate that was designed for my situation only. I have to say for the first time in a long time, I was talking with a Dentist that wasn't thinking only about the money. He was thinking about me, what was the fair thing to do to help me. Because it was the right thing to do. I personally thanked Dr. Kwon for treating me with such honesty and fairness. To be honest, I think he didn't even realize he was being fair, it just came naturally. When I meet people like Dr. Kwon, I always think, and say to myself "he was definitely raised right by his parents" So this may sound strange but, who cares, Maybe Dr. Kwon might let his parents know that they did good. Now I could be wrong. Maybe he had no help or support. I'm a pretty good judge of character, and I'm fairly certain that's not the case. To end this review, Tomorrowis my appointment to have my last implant to be quickly screwed in my mouth ( for lack of better words). I felt that this was the appropriate time to write my review. My terribly, horrible and sad journey, for about 4 years straight, has come to it's end. It's quite overwhelming and I get a bit emotional thinking about it. I really can only think of the good things that came from this hard time. For one. Dr. Kwon gave me my faith back in humanity. That's huge! I feel that Sunrise Dental saved my life in a sense. I want to share a situation that happened just a month ago in preparation for my last implant. I had to have a cavity filled because it was easier while my implant wasn't in yet. Two things I'd like to mention. Sunrise Dental just had some re-modeling done, and quite a lot . During the super cold weather we had a water pipe must have broken and water went everywhere. They just had walked in the office to begin the day, and I was the first appointment. So I got a call saying they would have to reschedule. I was just leaving and a bit let down but I understood. I called to reschedule and because I have new insurance and a deductible. I called to see how much out of pocket I needed to pay. Jennifer stated I owed nothing, and that they had enough in my old account to cover this. After really thinking about it, I think I saw it clearly. Watch your bill... They'll overcharge you, years back I had a appointment but had to cancel that appointment because I was going on vacation when I got back from vacation I got a bill For missing the appointment...I called them about it and they were total bitches so I paid the bill because my credit is excellent, ever since then I will never go back . I posted this before but they took it down they don't want any negative reviews, So if you missed an appointment watch your bill. read more

I got 1 filling and a cleaning I was out before you it hit 2 hours. The ladies at the front desk are very nice and welcoming. This is a fairly new Sunrise Dental. Too bad they are only in Oregon and Washington state. Would like to continue with this company in the east coast. You won't be disappointed. You will like this staff. read more

I followed Dr. Kwon here from the Bellevue office where I had been a patient of his for the last 15 years. Dr. Kwon told me that he has actually owned the office here since 2009 but decided to come practice here full time in September 2022. Some of the other reviews here from over a year ago seem to be of dentists that were only here part time or only for a short period of time because Dr. Kwon and his staff are awesome. You can tell they are caring, knowledgeable and honest. His nearly 20 years of experience really shows. He spends the time to go over all the options thoroughly and makes sure all your questions are answered. I would definitely recommend this office to all my friends. Plus, they just finished a great remodel of the office and it looks amazing! read more

I had the worst teeth cleaning of my life at Sunrise Dental. I was in there for an hour and 15 mins. I was just sitting in the dental chair for more than half the time. The dental hygienist did a good job with polishing but the doctor - I think it was Dr Shilpi Verma, who although spoke to me for a good 10 mins, actually took 7 mins (I checked my watch) to do my cleaning. Well, as you can tell, my teeth don't look like they have been cleaned at all, stains still there and even though I checked with the hygienist, she said the doctor "tried really hard". All this even though I mentioned, I'm doing the cleaning after a year (due to Covid). They were chatting about someone else's procedure while doing mine and the doctor looked completely disinterested in checking with me after she was done and walked out. Thank you Dr Verma, you lost your clinic two patients - my husband and I, who also wasn't satisfied. I'm going to another dentist to redo it. You did a very poor job. I am writing this on account of Dr Verma's disinterest and hurried treatment of her patient, treating me like I was stupid, I told them I'm getting my teeth cleaned after a year, I still have stains and I spent an hour and 15 mins for a 7 mins cleaning. read more

He is so great that I followed him to the Bellevue office (where he used to practice) to the Mill Creek office! Came to this place to have a routine check up and have an extraction. The Dentist and assistant were very kind and helpful. The people in the front are very RUDE, condescending and shouldn't be the first faces you see when you check in. At this point I'm done with this place. I'll just wait to talk to Dr and pick up my items and never return to this place. I believe the RUDE persons name is Sara. She needs to work in a back office with no patient care or phone interactions. As a nurse , the patient should feel heard and valued. Very bad customer service. The dentist did a good job and didn't try to convince me that I needed thousands of dollars worth of work done like the place I had previously visited so that was great. The don't use nitrous though and having electric tools and someone's hands in my mouth makes me anxious so that would have been nice to have. My second issue is this, they overcharged me, the insurance paid more than they estimated and it's been a real chore getting my money back and I have been getting the run around. I think if you expect people to pay up front, you should make sure you are charging them correctly and promptly return any difference. So I guess be careful and check your statement from your insurance company if you get work done here. read more

Outstanding dental office! I had been putting off going to the dentist because I was anxious about how they'd handle completing any cleanings/dental work in light of my TMJ disorder. Dr. Katie and her dental tech put me right at ease. She was so gentle and understanding, would let me rest and relax my jaw and ask how I was doing every few minutes in order to make sure they weren't stressing my jaw and causing any undue pressure. Not wanting to do anything that would cause a flare-up, she offered to break the visit up into a few separate visits so as not to overwork my jaw to the point of pain. Dr. Katie was absolutely amazing. She is so sweet, patient and knowledgeable. I couldn't recommend a dental office more highly than this one! read more

The dentist is great but the girls running the office should be fired....I canceled a appointment a month ahead of time, then I get a 85 dollar missed appointment bill in the mail ($85 dollars that's ridiculous when I was told $50 for missed appointments), they are the ones who forgot to take my appointment off there calendar, and when I call they act like it's my fault. Then they tell me if I reschedule they would drop the fee (like they are doing you a favor...but it wasn't my fault, cause I called a month before and CANCELLED IT)!! I shouldn't be charged at all. This is the second time this as happen to me. I didn't want to reschedule because I'm going on vacation and still haven't done my taxes and don't want to reschedule until I get my finances in order, so I told them they just lost my business and paid the $85 dollars , I paid it because I have excellent credit. ( they will nickel and dime you so watch it! from $50 dollars to $85 dollars?) I need $5000 worth dental work that they just lost out on, looking for a better dentist in the area now, if you go there don't miss your appointment because they won't take it off there calendar. greedy office practice, I wonder who else they did this too?
