Icon Dental has been the nicest, cleanest, and fun dental office over many years. Starting out from the desk the receptionast is outstanding. Very fine detail on what she does. Always a step of everyone who comes in. Already has my next appointment assigned. She gets you checked in just like that. and no waiting. When I go in and get ready to take on the worse. It quiet, and a lady comes and gets me takes me back and polishes my teeth. It even tickled. After having there sun glasses on I was in Heaven. Then after a little while my dentist came in I thought I could here her drill running, I knew what was up. but low and behold Icon has the. top of the line cleaning tools. I guess this represents the sad state of health care in the US today: pad your experience with as many insurance billable items as possible to maximize profit. Nice clean modern office, and honestly I prefer a female dentist which is why I started coming here years ago, but notice their web site specifically states: ------------------------------------------------------ Why Patients Choose Us Extractions Done by the Dentist You Already See The same dentists who do your check-ups do your extractions. No referral across town, no repeating your history to someone new, and no waiting weeks for an appointment with a practice that has never looked in your mouth. ------------------------------------------------------ So I walk in to the office with a broken pre-molar [NOT an impacted wisdom tooth or other complex operation requiring oral surgery] and ask for an appointment to have it extracted. Not a check-up, not a cleaning, I specifically ask to have my tooth pulled. After some conversation among staff in back, my luck, someone canceled and I can be seen right away. I get whisked back and x-rayed BEFORE THE DOCTOR EVEN TALKS TO ME. Doctor comes in, looks at the x-ray and says "Here's a referral to an oral surgeon". I ask, Why not just pull my tooth? and I'm told "Hey you want your tooth pulled by someone who does this every day, not me who hasn't done one in six years'. Wait, what ? Oh, and along with your referral, here's a bill for x-rays and an office visit, for work we don't do. Well, that sounds like a load of crap, and a way to bill hundreds of dollars for services not REALLY rendered, and of course I still have to pay my co-pay either way. read more

I am pretty bummed to be writing this review, but in hopes it helps someone else not get taken for nearly 2K, and after multiple attempts to try to find resolution with this facility, here we are. I made an appt for a crown replacement before the end of the year. My appt was for Jan. 19. They told me they would call me before to confirm benefits (they had always done this for an estimate). On January 19, at 8am, they text me to send a picture of my insurance card. I did immediately. I went to my appt two hours later and nothing was said to me about my benefits. I should have asked, but they has always been great and I figured I'd owe a couple hundred dollars. I checked out of my appt and was told I owe $1800. I asked the receptionist if my insurance didn't cover it or why it was so high. She said they did, but this is what I owed. It didnt sit right so when I got home I asked for an itemized bill to be sent to me, which then showed ZERO dollars was paid by insurance. I then called the office and said I called my insurance and they do cover this procedure so why was I being charged this full amount? The manager Jacky THEN tells me "well your insurance is out of network so you have to pay the full amount and if they pay anything, we will refund". Only then was I also told they had not confirmed my benefits before my appointment. That was not told to me at arrival or at checkout, even after I directly asked why it was so high. I pushed back, as I have been their client for six years and was flabbergasted they would charge me more than the full amount they'd usually receive. She told me they'd get $900-1100 if I had still been with my previous insurance carrier. I said I realize I should have asked, but you have always given me an estimate or told me, and I was lied to at checkout that it was run and only AFTER i said I called my insurance did they THEN tell me it was out of network. I asked to come to some sort of compromise on the bill, as them making MORE off me than they would if I was insured seemed absolutely wrong. The manager Jacky told me she would hear back in 4-6 weeks from my insurance and we could address it then. The lies then continued... I received my EOB from my insurance on January 29 that they paid out the claim. I heard nothing from the dental. On February 24, after ZERO contact, I reached out for a follow up. I was told they "just" received the check yesterday as their bookkeeper was on vaca. It was less than $400. I, again, asked if they'd like to make things right as it seems unfair they are making $600 more off me when they didn't run my insurance or communicate it was out of network when I arrived. I asked if it would be fair for a compromise and they take the amount they wouldve got from my previous insurance, I eat $800 instead of $1800, and they net the same as they would have instead of making a profit off of being unethical via not being transparent. She said she'd check with the owners and get back to me. Never heard back. On March 3, I asked where the check was as I was leaving town for a few weeks and this unexpected amount was already such a strain. (No payment plan was offered after the appt either). On March 4, I received a text back from Jacky "the check was mailed. I would think you would have it by today." I returned home on March 30 to the check, that was POSTDATED on March 9th - five days after she said it was mailed. Another lie. And zero concern or care for the financial burden this put on me, as I paid in full at checkout in hopes this would be made right. I really struggled writing this review as I do not hand out 1 stars. And they really do have a GREAT dentist there. Unfortunately, to pay for insurance, and deal with an unethically ran business like this with dishonesty, instead of making it right and working with a client of 6 years...leaves me here. If you care about working with an ethically run business or your out of pocket costs, I'd recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

The absolute pinnacle of skill and ... friendly polite professionalism :: I wish to thank the whole crew at ICON DENTAL. I have had the pleasure of visiting both Seattle and Everett locations. Fatin is the front office Manager and who is very polite and organizes the patient from start to finish; so there are no unknowns regarding scheduling & arrival times, all the prescriptions are explained, and she explains all the costs and procedures very well, thank you, Fatin. Brenda was my Doctor's Assistant for my two procedures, and she performed with the utmost skill and warm genuine concern for her patient (yep, that be me.!!). She was knowledgeable and actually helped me use Nitrous Oxide Gas which (she was right) as it did relax me for my tooth extraction; which she monitored so I would not become nauseous. She was right on top of her duties with attention to detail during my two procedures, so I thank you, Brenda. Lastly, the MAESTRO... aka the GENIUS... my Doctor Alan Yassin was pure perfection once again. I can't begin to list all the nuances of this Doctor's skill, but suffice it to say, I am very experienced in a dental chair so I can comment (extractions and implants, et. al.). This Doctor is 2nd to none. He is warm and friendly and real. It is most apparent that He takes pride in his work and has genuine care for his patient. He keeps you informed on each step during the process, manages pain to perfection, injections are done right, he's always checking with the patient, and this does not begin to touch on this Doctor's skill with the instruments which he moves with unmatched skill to complete the procedure at hand. He is an Oral Surgeon and Periodontist and perhaps other designations, as well as being a Professor at the University of Washington, so uh, let's say it accurately - he does it all very well..!! Extractions can be problematic, so can implants, believe me I know. He is the best there is... So thank you again Dr. Yassin, for everything, I am lucky you are my Doctor. read more

I am so glad I found this dental office! I haven't seen the dentist since pre-Covid and I honestly wasn't looking forward to it. My visits with my prior dentist in Seattle always left my teeth aching for days after a cleaning. I didn't realize until after my visit with Icon, that some practices have outdated and harsher cleaning tools and routines. I am so happy with everything regarding my experience. It was easy to book my appointment, I received text message reminders and I was quickly checked in and taken back to the chair. Xrays and photos were super easy and quick. I loved that their camera was about the size of a toothbrush. Everything was explained to me in detail. My hygienist, Kailee was extremely friendly and made the whole visit a breeze. I highly recommend getting paired with her if you can. Dr. Valentine was easy going, yet professional and thorough and made me feel comfortable to ask any questions I might have. Front desk is super helpful in answering any questions you may have. Came in for teeth cleaning and any extra work before the end of the year and they took care of everything. I have a tooth that has been bugging me for number of years. None of my past dentists were able to find the cause until I saw Dr. Valentine. She was able to find a fracture under my silver filling in the first few minutes of the consultation and took care of it right away. The staff in the office was also very friendly and professional. Fantastic!! The staff at this clinic is extremely friendly, humorous, and honest, which made my first visit a VERY pleasant experience!! Quite honestly that says a lot from me because I dislike... Today was a very pleasant day on every level. In the past I have had much trepidation on having to go into dental offices period. Being a trauma patient, it takes a lot out of me to have the courage to face these issues. However, from the first meeting with the Staff and the Doctors whom I've had the pleasures of having two Doctors in their individual fields,examine me, I have felt calm, secure and reassured on every level of my being. My plan to to go and have surgery which is needed by Dr. Yassin, and my restorative work by Dr. Valentine. They both took the time needed to explain the procedures to myself and my husband. We didn't feel rushed or pushed in anyway in our decision making. In addition Shannon who maintains the front desk and does all the scheduling was so wonderfully helpful and kind to give us much information that will be needed for my scheduled appointments. Most importantly, I felt a sense of family there. There wasn't that feeling of fees being the most important issue, but truly and sincerely the help of each individual, no matter your income, race, creed or beliefs. This organization I am so impressed with I plan to donate and give generously what I can to help others in need; because of my own pain and discomfort, my heart has been touched deeply to help others in need. Recently I was referred to Dr. Yassin for an implant surgery at Icon dental center in Everette then Seattle all I can say is that from the very beginning since the removal of the damaged tooth to the grafting to the placement of the implant through few months of healing and finally the abutment, Dr. Yassin's work was amazing. Of course, the work was finished by a very kind, professional, and talented Dr. Nadia Abulosn. Words cannot describe how grateful and happy I am few months after the surgery. I'm new to the PNW, and I heard a lot of great things about Dr. Valentine, so I was willing to travel a little further for a great dentist. I was not disappointed! First of all, the receptionist couldn't find a cleaning appointment that fit my busy schedule, but she was extremely patient, and instead of just giving me an appointment that was over two months away, she ended up giving me an appointment directly with Dr. Valentine -- I've never had a cleaning done by the general dentist before! That was a good first sign... Anyway, Dr. Valentine was great. Super friendly, makes great conversation, and hums while she works (which def. puts me at ease). She thoroughly went over each tooth for my treatment plan, and even though I've had a LOT of work done over the years, she wasn't like one of those dentists who give you a guilt trip for how bad your teeth are. :) I went back to get a filling done, and she was great then as well. In fact, it was the first time I got a Novocain shot and didn't feel a thing! Oh, and they offer a free whitening treatment with your 6 month cleaning. Great deal! After living in the area and jumping to different dentists, I am glad to be back with dr. Aboulhosn. I have seen her for years and she has done over 8 fillings and a crown for me! She is different than other dentists because she knows and remembers you. She chats with you and catches up on your life, I almost forget what she's doing in my mouth (almost).
