Great place. Lyra is one of the owners and so friendly! Greet to call in breakfast or lunch and they will have it ready in less than 5 minutes and you can walk up and pay. They are very helpful and can make any notifications you like. Classic deli food. The sandwiches are great as well as the hash browns and eggs for breakfast! Perfect to go or eat there. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating and lots of TVs to get the morning news or watch a sports game. They also have 6 full fridges of different drink options.

Always very fast, delicious food at reasonable prices. Curry specials are good, Steve Special Chicken sandwich is insane (put it on ciabatta and with chipotle aioli), tuna sandwich is also very fresh and good with tons of veggies and generous portions of tuna.

We came here because we had gift certificates and were amazed by how big the menu was. There are daily specials listed, and the food came out very fast. They also have a large assortment of food and convenience store-esque drinks. Prices are a little more expensive than the menu pictures on Yelp. The macaroni salad was only alright, it was too sweet for my taste. We ordered the Truffle Swiss Mushroom Burger and Alaskan Baked Salmon. Both smelled REALLY good and the portions were great for the price. The salmon was very thick and juicy while the burger was very tasty. I wish the patty was a little thicker because the brioche buns were kinda big but it was still pretty good. Would come here again.

Sunrise Deli is in an interesting spot amongst a bunch of industrial buildings. Lady at the counter is very nice and gets orders out quickly. I visited on a Thursday and the special of the day was a hickory bbq rib sandwich. French bread was fresh and I liked the mild french bread flavor. Bbq sauce was sweet with a nice smoky flavor. Lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh. Beef was tender. Good sandwich. 2nd visit I tried the Miramar Special which featured grilled roast beef and bacon. French roll was fresh and had a nice mild flavor. Grilled roast beef was tender and full of flavor. Bacon was crunchy and full of savory flavor. This is my favorite sandwich so far. 3rd visit I came by on Friday and they had a country steak fried sandwich special with fries. I gave it a try. Steak had a crunchy batter and nicely seasoned with salt and pepper. Steak came in the form of a burger patty and was tender. Bread was fresh with a mild slightly sweet flavor. Pretty good sandwich. Fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Loved the potato flavor. 4th visit I visited on Wednesday and noticed the chicken katsu special. I opted for the fish and chips. Fries were crispy and I loved the potato flavor. Fish had a crunchy batter and tasted like frozen fish sticks you can get at the supermarket. Texture was a bit hard due to the freezing process. Flavor was a mix of mild fish and fried batter. Sunrise Deli has a huge drink selection, great tasting sandwiches and very good fries. It appears they have a different special everyday.

Fatboy's Deli & Spirits - American classic

Coming back to send my love to my favorite sub place…read more I've sadly moved to a different part of town so Fatboy's is no longer a few blocks away. I still try to stop by every few months as this place holds a special place in my heart. A no frills spot. Solid and consistent. To the point but friendly customer service. Fantastic drink, chip and snack selection. Sandwiches are always bomb asf. The hot momma and BLT loaded up is my favorite. My husband still loves their Ruben (it is his favorite place to get it.) You get a small potato or macaroni salad on the side with a pickle (perfect crunch.) I personally think it's a great little add on. Their chili is also simple but delicious. I personally think their chili pairs perfectly with any of their sandwiches. It's not a heavy thick chili. Which is why I think it pairs so well. I won't lie it's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's loaded up and good quality. I never feel gross or overly bloated after eating here. I will be coming back to Fatboy's until I move out of San Diego or die. lol. One of my favorite gems in SD. Always will be worth the drive or walk. Thank you for always delivering even years later.

I used to frequent Fatboy's because it was close and convenient for a long time, but I am rarely able to visit anymore... parking is a bigger challenge every day in North Park, and finding even a 15-minute spot takes way longer than the drive for me now (but the walk is too far to pick up a quick meal). Today I was down the street for something else so decided to order a sandwich. I was excited, then my jaw dropped when I saw the price increases. It's $18 for the North Park Club now, with no extras. I already had a hard time justifying $15 for a sandwich but I'm officially, 100% priced out now. I know it's not necessarily on the business owners; rent is exorbitant in NP, profit margins are small in the food service industry, and operating costs are high. Our city is eating itself alive, but thank you for the years of sandwiches!

I love the sandwiches here, they are all really good but this is my favorite. I will say that the sandwich needs acid so order mustard, onions, pickles and pepperoncinis. I paid $60 for four of these trays and it feed 5 adults with leftovers. The place is quaint and clean. There is a few tables scattered throughout and don't be surprised if you can't find a seat, It's busy. This place is CASH ONLY!!!! The best part is the service. I'm not sure of her name but the nice lady at the register is what makes this place special. I bought my sandwiches to go and didn't expect any special treatment but she tells me to make myself at home and offers my son and I free drinks while we wait. I've seen her generosity in person! Some people forget that it's cash only, she either lets them pay next time, honor system or gives it away. Who's does that nowadays. Also, they are heavily involved in the local community, police, fire, Military, and Customs/Border Patrol. Highly recommended if you can get to them before they close for the day!!!!

I'm pleased to report that Beyer Deli was everything you said it was. Thanks Yelpers!…read more Now that's a sandwich! The hours may be a little skimpy, but the meats are bountiful...pause. A little off the beaten path...yes Selective hours while you're probably working...yeah Worth an extended lunch to grab one of these sandos...Absolutely! Dena and the crew are putting together some seriously delicious and well-thought-out, stacked sandos. While you won't be getting a footlong roll, the sizable portion of fillings makes for an excellent meat to bread ratio. And speaking of bread, while most of the sandwiches come on a fresh torta roll, you also have your choice of sourdough, wheat, rye, squaw, French roll, wrap, or croissant. Now that's wassup. What I tried on this visit: The New Yorker and The Italian Both sandwiches were absolutely fire. I started with the Italian and the first thing I noticed was the beautiful, shimmering, thinly sliced red onion. The shine on the veggies immediately let me know they were perfectly dressed with oil and vinegar. Upon separating the two halves to reveal the innards, layers upon layers of freshly sliced meats were waiting to be devoured. First bite...ecstasy. Not only were the veggies dressed, they were also seasoned. The combination of the flavorful proteins, tasty veggies, and fluffy torta, were a HIT! This sandwich was juicy in all the right ways. My only wish is that I would have substituted the American cheese with more provolone or swiss. Moving on to The New Yorker...Hello Pastrami!! Bomb, bomb, bomb. Both the corned beef and the pastrami were smackin' on this hot sando. Wonderfully tender, lean, flavorful proteins were packed inside this torta for absolute deliciousness. I wish I had one right now. The only thing that would have made this better was some horseradish mustard. Along with sandwiches there are breakfast items including bagels and a burrito, salads, soups, chips, and a famous brownie. Unfortunately, the brownies were sold out by the time I arrived, but I'll definitely pick one up the next time they're available. Great pickles, free parking, a few outside tables, and some inside seating rounds out the experience. Call ahead to minimize the wait. Thanks Dena and crew! I'll be back!!!

Love The Marketplace…read more Pick a sandwich. Any one. They're all good. If you're a Reuben lover, you have to try one. Beyond delish! A variety of soups available, on a rotating schedule. They do sell out of some, though, so if you want some of the soup, you need to get here before dinner. Lunch availability for soups is generally best mid-morning to mid-day. Try the clam chowder. Yum with a capital Y-U-M. Chicken noodle is also excellent. Great beer selection in their refrigerated case. Look carefully, as you may miss something you really would like to try. Many local craft breweries available, but if you want the national brands, they have those too. Excellent service from the kitchen staff and the checkout staff. Be aware, though, this place does get really crowded at lunchtime, so you'll most likely have to wait in line to check out. It was THAT good. The crust was perfectly crispy, the toppings were the perfect amount, and they were spread out so every bite had the right combination. And the flavor?! Oh my God. But here's what really got me: there was absolutely NO greasy, gooey mess. Nothing soggy, nothing weighed down with cheese or oil. That's what kept the crust so perfectly crisp all the way through. It was just really, really well-made pizza. And an 18-inch pizza was only $27, with HUGE slices. Seriously, what a deal. Ordering online was super easy, and it was ready in less than 30 minutes. We picked it up and basically couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Hands down, the best pizza we've had in this area. This one is going into the rotation. And at $27 for an 18-inch? I'm already thinking about when we're getting the next one.

This review is for the experience we had at the deli. If I could give negative stars, I would. It was our first time visiting, and we were unsure of the ordering process (if there were order slips or if we ordered at the counter etc.). When we went up to ask, we were laughed at by three guys who were working. The guy who ended up taking our order made a snide remark about how it's not that hard to order and we don't need to act stupid to get his attention. This was entirely off-putting, and yet we still ordered when we should have walked out then and there. We were taken aback by his remark and after ordering, he scoffed because one of them was vegetarian. He turned to his buddies and said "what's the point of going to a deli if you're not gonna order any meat!", loudly enough that we could hear. The service was god awful that we almost threw out the sandwiches, and honestly could've made a better one at home. Veggies tasted old, barely any cheese, avocado was nasty, and the turkey was way too salty. Won't be back.

We typically go to Iowa Farms since it's close to us and we're familiar with the location. We love getting the potato salad and bbq baked beans (prepackaged) sides there when we stop in, but if you're not early on the weekend, they usually run out. So we decided since we'd be in the Bay Park area, we'll check out the original location, Siesel's. Glad we did! I wanted to make a slow cooker brisket one weekend, so it was perfect. Siesel's is a bit larger than Iowa Farms and feels a bit more open. Same great cow awaiting outside the store. But they have a whole deli counter with all the sides plus more! They didn't have any ready made prepackaged bbq baked beans, it was better, made fresh daily and we were able to get as much as we wanted at the deli counter. They also have several different Siesel's signature potato salads and pasta salads that aren't offered prepackaged at Iowa farms, which I absolutely love! My favs are the Asiago pasta and deviled egg potato salad. We also decided to try their Tri-tip sandwich made to order at the deli and it was delicious! Fluffy bun piled high with Tri-tip covered in bbq sauce and have the option to add cheese and anything else. Love it! Staff is always very helpful. Parking lot can get full on the weekends, and they can run out of the pre-prepared meats in the front counter, but make sure to ask if there's any more in the back or they may be able to prepare some for you! We'll definitely be back! Until next time! :) Simply the best! Series: 17 2026: 34
