Well, at West Street Exxon these guys know how to take care of the customer! Yes, its self service, so be prepared to pump your own. However, the attendant on Tuesday came over and said "why don't you let me do that for you today?" Uh, ooooo kaaay, is all that I could muster because I just haven't experienced that in literally years! Not only did he pump the gas, he brought my receipt to my window and then proceeded to ASK, did you hear me ASK, if I minded him checking my tire inflation because he thought it looked a bit low. I just melted and so did my co-workers. How nice to have folks from not only out of town, but from out of the country really see what our area is like from a community perspective, eh? I arrived a bit before the official opening time and I really appreciated that I was still warmly greeted. After turning my car over to the staff I was shown to the lounge and offered complementary beverages. When it was time to retrieve my car I like that a staff member ushered me to the enclosed garage where they worked on my car so I could inspect it before driving off. I walked around the car but didn't see anything that needed a touch up. I thought my car was relatively free of "stuff" before turning it over to the staff but apparently they found plenty of junk remaining which they gathered into a white trash bag during the cleaning process. I really liked this approach because it shows they moved the clutter to clean the nooks and crannies and it gave me the opportunity to sift through my car junk and to make a decision about what to keep and what to toss. The staff was very courtesy and customer-service oriented. Overall, it was a great experience and I will be much better about getting my car cleaned in the future.

After you come out of the wash, there's just one person wiping the exterior with a towel--no one actually cleans the vehicle afterward. We decided to take the car to a Chevrolet dealership, where they told us the hub bearing replacement was only $230 for the part and about 1.5 hours of labor. The total came to $410 (before taxes and shop fees), far less than what the other place was asking for. When I called to confront them about the inflated price, they didn't even care to explain -- they just said, "Take the job elsewhere if you don't like the price." It's clear this place is trying to rip people off, especially women, with inflated repair costs. I would never recommend them to anyone. Be cautious and do your research before trusting this place -- they'll try to scam you.

There is also a convenience store, which is ok. But today, prices for unleaded here were $3.79 per gallon. Almost across the street and a couple of blocks up, there is another station I prefer to use where I filled up for $3.29. So fifty cents a gallon difference in just a quarter of a mike? Baloney. Their air pump is also located in an area where their delivery trucks park, so the last time I needed air, I could not get close enough to the pump. Convenient, yes, but not a good deal.
