I stopped here in a hurry, to fuel up before continuing on to my destination. I swiped my credit card, selected 93 octane, and when the pump said to "Begin Fueling," I tried to do just that. Problem: Nothing happened. So after messing around with it for a moment, I went inside to ask what the deal was, and a Comic Book Guy sort of dude working behind the counter was in no rush to even acknowledge my presence. He had an iPod, but the earbuds weren't even in his ears. Yeah, I'm sure you didn't notice me standing there, bud... Finally, he acknowledged me, and came off in a pretty condescending way. Listen, bro, I imagine I probably wouldn't be the happiest and most enthusiastic person working the overnight shift at a gas station, but take it easy. He explained to me that he was "really low" on 93 octane. OK, what about the others? Well, he wasn't sure, but he said my best bet was to try 89. ...sigh. Fine. So I go outside, select 89, and start pumping... it goes incredibly slowly, and stops at $0.98. At this point, I said screw it, and drove further along to get gas somewhere else.

Review mostly for the mediocre automated carwash, but I'll give the other amenities a stab…read more The brushless car wash has three bays, which is good (no waiting, even when one is out of order), and working credit card readers, which is much better than most of the competing automated car washes. Prices range from $14 to $8, counting tax, and none of them are very thorough. The topside is fine, but the undercarriage rinse isn't very strong. The dryer also doesn't completely dry the car off no matter how slowly you go through it, which is a problem in freezing water. Overall: adequate, if you're in the area, not worth going out of your way if you have a closer equally mediocre alternative. The gas station tends to be slightly above average pricing for the area, and the convenience inside doesn't do a lot for me. However, the location, while on the far side of the airport, is convenient to eastbound Route 7 traffic and on the corner of Albany-Shaker Rd, and among the closer locations for rental car return fill-ups. I recommend turning into Albany-Shaker and then taking a left across the Albany-Shaker traffic if you're coming westbound on 7, and then reversing to get back on 7, to avoid awkward and dangerous exit and entrance on 7 traffic at this intersection.

The times we have been here, it is clean and stocked. Menus are electronic and the soda fountains are self-cleaning -- I definitely appreciate the newness and modern conveniences of this location. There are outside tables with umbrellas (at least for the summer), which is nice. The parking seems ample, and bonus, you can exit out to the side road which has a traffic light. This way you can make a left on Central Ave with no problem.

Stand-out Mobil gas station near Colonie…read more If you are in Colonie for dinner/shopping this gas stop is a solid bet for snacks, sodas, chips, beer and gas. The staff is civil and quick. It is a very brightly lit gas station for families or women stopping by here. The gas prices are average for the Colonie area, but it is really the shop itself which is well kept, solidly stocked: hot items are hot - cold drinks are actually cold. Village Mobil is great! This gas station only offers the lowest grade octane gas it can sell by law. And they have cheaper prices for cash versus credit. They even have those little thingies on the pump handle so that you don't have to stand in the cold like an imbecile waiting for your tank to fill up. It may be a little sketchy, with the taped up pumps and all. But I've been using it for years, my car still runs, and I save a couple of pennies every time I fill up the tank.

When it gets busy, there can be a bit of a line waiting your turn. Even though there are pumps set up for gas tanks on both the driver's and passenger's sides, and arrows suggesting how to enter and exit, you always have those folks who will ignore the arrows and those waiting in line to back into a spot or drive around and come in from the back. Watch out for those folks. I'm docking them 1 star for bad signage. The sign before entering the gas area was definitely out of date. It showed a gas price fifteen cents lower than today's actual price. I'm wondering whether they're short staffed, too lazy to update the sign, or whether they think folks will be more interested in getting gas, then learning the price is higher but will stay anyway. C'mon, everyone coming here is already a BJs customer and knows the price is lower. The do need to remember one other thing... the Costco opening a couple of miles away in 2026 will also sell gas.
