Hidden gem. We love their quality of the greens and having a local layer back spot to work on our skills.

Falcons Brewhouse (formerly Hudson River Brew House) is a nice bistro/brewhouse located in the…read morecenter of Hudson Falls. They offer coffee & espresso drinks, tea, draft beer, bottle beers, ciders, seltzers, wine, and soft drinks. For food, they served up bistro fare including baked goods, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, quiche, soups, salads, wings, flatbreads, pizza, lasagna, mac & cheese, quesadillas, and desserts. They offer full service dining and takeout and online ordering (prices higher in Clover). The place has a nice inviting relaxed atmosphere with exposed brick walls, shiny wood floors, oriental rugs, bar counter seating, high top table seating, couches & coffee tables. I stopped by Falcons recently for a late lunch and decided to eat in. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine ($10 plus tax) and the Mac & Cheese ($9 plus tax) with an ice water. My food was served to me in about 12 minutes after ordering. The portions of food were very good for the price. The Quiche Lorraine were 2 slices of quiche which were very dense with pieces of ham in a rich cheese & egg blend in a flaky crust, a bit of a saltier flavor. The Mac & Cheese had firm cavatappi macaroni smothered in a rich cheese sauce. I finished much of the food ordered, but I needed a small box for the extra slice of quiche, which I enjoyed for breakfast the next day. Overall, I enjoyed a nice filling lunch at Falcons Brewhouse with friendly service. I was also told that the menu here is evolving and changing with the charcuterie board being discontinued. I noted that the in-restaurant menu prices were significantly lower than the Clover prices for online ordering. You can call in your order for takeout and pay the lower in-restaurant prices.

Pizzas are perfectly cooked and so are the tenders! McPat burger was also pretty solid. The lime habanero sauce for the tenders is the absolute best because it's citrusy and spicy at the same time...I made a salad with the tenders and used the lime habanero sauce as salad dressing. Service has always been great and so is the vibe. They also have outdoor seating now that the weathers gotten a bit warmer. Check them out!

The initial impression was the same when we arrived. The place was clean and well put together with a friendly atmosphere. We got our menus and our drinks and took some time to place our orders. We eventually ordered the tavern Mac and cheese and the piggly wiggly burger. We also ordered an extra basket of the tavern fries as those are typically a big hit and very delicious. I got the pretzels for myself. This is where the disappointment began. The Mac and cheese had good taste but it was still very lackluster. We knew to expect loads of cheese; which is great! But what we got was nearly just cheese itself... maybe a handful of noodles. The burger was also a huge disappointment. As having had it before I knew it was pretty good. This time it wasn't . What I got was a greasy unseasoned burger, pulled pork with no flavor and coleslaw that was bland as well. The bun was soggy. The burger was soaking wet. The pretzels were still doughy and not fully cooked. They were very hard and not as good as I had hoped seeing as they were once amazing. The fries were soaked in their oil. They are seasoned, and they are tossed with their seasoning and oil. However these were soggy, nor crispy in the slightest and dripped all over the place. Service was mediocre at best. Plates were pulled without asking if we were finished . Upon returning the server seemed to be somewhat condescending . Had I not brought large bills I would have not left a tip to be quite frank. Overall I do not plan to return here . I am very dissatisfied. I hope this place turns back around but as for me, I do not plan to spend my money here anymore.

We walked past Farmacy's window and one of the chefs gave a friendly wave. We stopped in (had eaten there before) and prepared ourselves for a sure to be delicious meal. They have a fun frequently changing menu of small, medium and large plates so you can choose your own foodie adventure. If you want to sit at the bar you get a great view of the chefs at work preparing your meal. If you want a cozier experience, sit in the comfortable seating in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. North country friendly and approachable with a sophisticated set of offerings. Some really unique cocktails too. Not a boring thing on the menu.

But each of their tasting rooms has its own positives. The big one here is their parking lot - which is literally big (and free!). It's also family (kid) friendly, though that also means it can get very noisy. There's lots of open space available in nice weather. The afternoon I went, it was very busy, and I overheard one employee tell one customer that they were busier than anticipated. But every single person there was working their tail off. Food and drink still came out quickly and with a smile and friendly conversation. Be aware that the hallway for staff exiting the kitchen is also the space towards the rest rooms, so be sure to give those folks the right of way. I'm still going through their beer list in both places, and the list in this South Glens Falls location is extensive. Their food has always been high quality as well. This is a great spot for lunch or dinner with your drinks.

We've been for both lunch and dinner here and haven't been disappointed by our overall meals, but usually there's one or two things that just didn't go right. Today, we stopped in for lunch. I ordered a Caesar salad, my Nana got the crab cakes, and my Poppi order the specialty wrap, a salmon one that promptly fell apart out the bottom when he picked up the first half of the wrap. He ended up eating it with a fork and knife. My salad was well dressed and the croutons were tasty, a nice seasoned brown bread. My Nana's crab cakes were good, but she didn't care for the mixed greens they were served on. For the three of us, we paid just $40 for lunch and that included nearly an $8 tip. Our server was great, but we were literally her only table; no one else was in there when we stopped in for lunch around 11:15ish today, so it's hard to have bad service when it's just you and the waitress in the dining room. Also it can get busy here, especially for dinner or after the first round of daytime golfers finish up. So be prepared to wait if you come during those times.
