Today was my first time going to Sunnyside Liquors and I am so embarrassed. My sister and I were shopping - bought 3 different bottles in total and were headed to the register. Out of nowhere I heard a woman with a Russian accent, walking around frantically asking about a bottle of Ciroc. She was so worked up, and upset I thought she was a customer. I then heard her say "check the camera!!!" My sister tried clueing me in to explain that she's referring to us but I was so certain she was a crazy customer that I didn't stick around. To my disappointment I then saw her getting behind the counter. I asked the checker if she's referring to us and she said "yes she was talking to you guys." We bought our goods and walked out. 10 minutes later when I got home, I called the store and asked to speak to the manager. To my disbelief, the woman with the accent answered and was the manager. I told her who I was, the reason for my call, and she completely lied. She told me she was not speaking to us and was speaking to her co-worker. No apologies, no acknowledgment of her possibly making a mistake - nothing. An apology would go a long way. I just moved to Happy Valley, and will NEVER step foot in this store again. I will be sharing my experience with others as well. How unfortunate that I cannot be supporting this local business. Advice to the owner: Careful about your accusations, and next time you think someone is stealing, be sure of it, check your cameras first, and then approach the client. If you made a mistake, admit it, because I also wanted to know what my sister and I possibly did to make you think we were thieves. read more
