Stopped in for a limited edition beer my husband saw on social media. He checked online and saw that Total Wine had it in stock! He was super excited to try it. We walked in and everyone was welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. We couldn't find the beer, so we asked an employee for help. He found it within seconds on his computer, and led us straight there. On a whim, my husband asked him if they stocked James Gin. He's been looking for it in the states since he started watching James May's YouTube channel. The guy was able to find that as well! I guess they just started stocking it recently. They have an overwhelming variety of booze here. You could spend hours looking at everything on the shelves. They also sell snacks to go with the beverages. They have novelty items and gifts available as well. Their prices do seem a bit steep compared to grocery stores, but they offer a rewards card that can potentially help you save money. Total Wine has something for everyone... Wine, as the name suggest but also a full range of beer and spirits and bar supplies. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and if you're looking for assistance are very helpful - and we'll find somebody more knowledgeable if needed, just because they want you to have the best outcome. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays they have tastings of both wine and spirits wear a curated selection is available to sample at the sample bar. At any time, you can ask for samples on many of their products - which is super helpful if you're trying to make up your mind about something new. Their app and website are up-to-date with the inventory, making it easy to see if they've got something in particular before you drive over. That's super handy, particularly if you're used to using the OLCC website for liquor stores in Portland. The store was recently closed for about three months due to damage to the building and while they're coming back, they are not at 100%. In particular as of early July 2025, their coolers are still unavailable and their beer stock is limited However, the staff is still amazing. The selection is great, and the prices are outstanding. Second Total Wine & More that we've visited. Was looking specifically for ciders and bought a few One Tree Hard Cider cans ($11.99 USD for cranberry 4-pack, $4.99 USD for cider & stripes single). Layout is strange as they're not in one location; some in the cider section, others in a completely different aisle. Know your prices as singles are overpriced and 4-packs can be found cheaper (ie. I come here to grab this delicious Amaro. So far it's only place I've found it. It's So good in a black Manhattan. The selection is good. Prices are fair. And the staff is helpful, knowledgeable and kind, ... except for one guy who is not at all. This one guy on three separate occasions has been rude, condescending, and yucked my yum each time. Great selection of all things alcohol whatever kinds you like. I'm into beer and they could have a better selection of local stuff. Its not a bad selection but it's not Belmont Station or Sarveza. My other complaint is that the last time I was there all the beer was a room temperature. I got a couple 4 packs and you could definitely tell. The beers tasted a bit oxidized and old. My goodness what a selection of alcohol!!! They have almost anything you can imagine! I we for 2 specific things and I didn't get them, but it had to do with the distributor vs just not carrying it! They have a variety of liquors, dessert wines, and digestifs. I am definitely coming back soon! I have a love hate relationship with this place. Love the selection! Hard to find wine regions are found here; not great selection sometimes but a general impression can be found. Hate the distance from home and hate the WA sales tax. The staff are friendly enough and I'm sure they could help you find something if you asked. I go with a list and general idea from the website, so I tend not to interact a lot with them; that's on me not them! I literally go for the selection and if I could find someplace closer to home with a similar selection all in one spot, I would revise my shopping behavior. Sometimes I want a bottle of champagne (okay, sparkling wine) and I like Cook's. Yes I know it's a bottom rung brand. In fact, at Total Wine it's kept on a bottom shelf. Served cold, I find it to be crisp and refreshing. I don't know what it is with Total Wine employees, but every time they see me with a bottle of Cook's in my hands, they poo-poo it and try to upsell me. I mean every time. They just trash talk Cook's to the point I wonder why they even carry it on the shelves. After years of buying vodka from them .. all of a sudden they insist on scanning your driver license!!! totally illegal, might be a new company policy, not enforceable, but they just lost our business. We suffered an identity theft issue 3.5 years ago and it was a nightmare to recover from. After several investigations from Portland police department + Vancouver police department we were advised NEVER to have anyone scan your ID, store manager Garry, IT IS ILLEGAL FOR YOU TO DO SO WHEN A CUSTOMER REQUESTS PRIVACY .. they can look at it, confirm it is you but that is IT. New employees "farm" this info out and collect it only to sell it on the black web to "Data brokers", google it. They now have an image of your driver license, age, home address, credit card info .. what else could they possibly want? Walk away and DON'T let them scan your ID .. what an awful experience this has been. So many other vendors sell same product for the same price .. go elsewhere read more

This place is maddening. The selection itself is great. The staff is excellent, although they are so numerous and ambitiously helpful that it can make maneuvering the store tricky. The hard part is actually purchasing items. They have endless specials, send constant coupons in the mail, and have a rewards program. The register has a device where you can enter your rewards info, but as soon as you approach the register, they ask "do you have a phone number for rewards?" It's just kind of an awkward start. Then they scan your items and based on which of the various discounts apply, you find out what the price is. You basically need a pre-checkout review with a staff member (maybe that's why there are so many?) to know what your price will be if you're buying multiple items. Since I'm personally a shopper who is just acquiring what we need and hoping not to leverage customer service, I started ordering delivery from here. No matter what platform you use and how common the items are, multiple items will be cancelled/replaced instantly. Like, within a single digit number of seconds. You pretty much get 40% of your order each time. I don't know if it's a bug or they don't feel like pulling 5 items, but it's happened consistently. In fact, we just canceled an order for five basic items because four were out of stock (they say they're out of things like Tito's vodka and La Marca Prosecco, supermarket stock items, on a Saturday night). The huge size of this store has certainly discouraged local competition. I really would love if someone would open up a place bigger than a convenience store/strip mall lot, so we don't need to be sucked into the weird, elaborate world of Total Wine. read more

Absolutely horrible!!! I will never ever ever go to that store again!! Yes, they do have a great selection of wines and spirits, prices are average (plus ridiculous WA tax) but the main reason for 1 star is because of the customer service. The employees seem nice but when they see me (a blonde woman with Eastern European accent) they don't take me seriously and they ALWAYS try to sell stuff that does not sell well. Today, I wanted to buy some expensive Cognac, and the employee has advised me to get something cheaper (some sort of VSOP) so he didnt have to open the locked cabinet. He also has recommended Ferrand Cognac which unfortunately is a big disappointment. Next time, I will make an effort to drive to a very cute store in Portland for much better service and better prices . Buy-buy, total Wine! If you come here looking for beer, you'll find a mediocre supply of independent brewers, apart from heavy hitters like Dogfish Head and Founders, for example. Plenty of non-independent brewers in their "craft" section. Also, they're not organized in any meaningful way, such as by style. We have been going here every week for the past 5 weeks for a beer and wine order. They bring it right out to your car with in 2 hours of ordering online. The lady who delivered our alcohol the first time was super sweet and easy on the eyes. The dude that delivered our alcohol yesterday was really nice. He put it in my trunk checked our identification and we were on our way to get some Oishi Sushi down there street. I am gonna be coming back here more often. Plus, after you order online a few times they give you 10% discounts on your next order. Good deal if you ask me. read more

Once again, I have to state in advance that I don't drink. My friends wanted to come in, and it was near a bunch of other good places. Like the mall. Without hesitation, I stepped inside and thought "wow, this is a nice store." They have figured out how to make this look clean, sleek, and like a regular store. It just so happens to exclusively carry alcohol. It was just in general, one of the nicest shopping experiences I've personally had by myself. I thought the customer service was great. They were friendly and efficient. There was also someone "walking around giving alcohol suggestions." My friend noticed that, not me. He enjoyed his time, as well as my other friend. It gets a star removed because of the bathroom. It was one of the tiniest I've ever occupied. But there were several tasting areas, and at one, there was an incredibly nice lady working it! "These lanes here are overwhelming. I mean, they're so amazing. Oh!" - A British gentleman, with his buddy. He was having a great time! Overall, this had a great selection, was super clean, and was relatively big. Yet, easy to navigate. I'd recommend stopping by here, if you drink alcohol. read more

Plus the grocery stores there only sell beer and wine and liquor stores are not conveniently located. I like myself a little night cap here and there when I'm traveling. First time visit and awesome selection. Wanted to try the tasting. Unfortunately the server wasn't having a good day. I'm not an expert wine taster, but have tasted probably 500 plus wines. They had 8 wines to taste. I asked for the port as I didn't see anything else I wanted to taste. The server made a very condescending remark about "there's an order in which you taste wines". Oh really? Would've been more respectful had he asked if I've ever wine tasted before. I will go back due to the selection and the other helpful employees. I'm very disappointed in this store. I've been shopping here for many years, with some mild disappointments along the way. Usually, the older white guys who work there have a bit of an attitude. I am also an older white guy, and hate the way this makes my demographic look. Also, it seems that whenever I find a beer that I absolutely love, they stop carrying it, even though they still stock other beers from the same brewery. It can't be deliberate, just a misfortunate occurrence. Today though, I came in to look for another beer from a Seattle brewery that I love, and couldn't find the last few times I shopped at Total Wine. When I finally went to the customer service desk for help, I asked a young woman for assistance. Jason (older white guy) interceded and in a demanding tone (not pleasant) asked me "what do you want?". I said I was looking for 2 items, and before I could elaborate, he said again in a louder voice "what do you want?", not "can I help you" or some other nice customer related question. I told him the name of the Seattle beer I was looking for, and after looking it up in his inventory, was told they don't carry it. I replied that I'd been purchasing it for weeks at this store. Jason simply said "We don't carry it". Very rude. Next, I said I was looking for a specific alcoholic root beer, and he said it was on aisle 10. It was not in stock. I looked at EVERY item in that aisle and it was not there. It didn't sound productive to go back and ask again, so I just left. Probably won't come back either. I hate rude, adversarial customer service. They've had my business for years, and now they won't. If you shop there, don't bother asking Jason for help. He doesn't want to. read more
