Really like the idea of the clubs that RHS has and the after school program offers after school clubs as well (screen printing /anime /hip hop/ breakdancing...etc.) If you or your child likes arts/performing arts, this highschool is a great place for that! the arts department teachers are funny and always encouraging to bring students' talents out. They also have dance / music concerts in their HUGE indoor auditorium as well, participated in the dance shows and let me just say YOU WILL MEET NEW PEOPLE AND NEW FRIENDS DURING BACKSTAGE AT SHOWS.

The teachers unions are partly to blame. But also most Hispanics and other parents are using public schools for daycare. All are to blame. Parents should not accept this. spent both 7th and 8th grade years here back in '94 and these were probably the two most memorable…read moreyears I had during my school years. it might have been a little ghetto, but besides a bunch of fights, nothing crazy happened when I was there. the teachers were pretty cool & met a lot of cool people but the things I remember most were cambodian new years when everyone carries around powder and shaving cream and throws it at everyone else, playing "suicide" (same rules as butts up, but the penalty was getting jumped until you touch the wall), the ongoing tradition right before graduation where it was the 7th graders vs the 8th graders fighting each other, break dancing in the hall ways... things got more serious in high school and got moved out of town so lost touch with everyone except a couple friends found online.

At Clovis East, cliques and style seem to mean everything, and quite a few teachers turn a blind eye to the jocks' silly and sometimes violent antics just to keep them in football. The dress code in all Clovis Schools is ridiculous, long hair on guys is prohibited [lower than eyebrows, top of ears, or middle of neck], and all piercings are forbidden for guys and ears-only for girls. The teaching staff is pretty abysmal, not counting the few teachers that really do try.
