Totally inexperienced and unfortunately, it felt like one of my friend's kids was sloppily petting my back, TERRIBLE. So I politely asked her to get the owner and asked if I could stop at 30 minutes. She offered to switch masseuses mid-massage and I was hesitant but agreed. The second masseuse Angela was EXCELLENT! Dare I say probably top 5 best massages I've had period. As I walked out I could even breathe better... she knew exactly where I had tension and made sure to give extra deep pressure on those spots while also applying hot stones to extra tender areas. I've already booked another 60 minute with her for Wednesday. Went from the worst massage ever to the best massage all in one trip, ha!

BEWARE - If you're looking for a luxurious massage spot with a spa-Iike look and feel, and top of the line customer service, don't waste your time coming here. This place is a no frills establishment. Having said that, this place definitely meets your massage and well-being needs, and their pricing is more than reasonable. You will definitely not find a place in East Midtown that will charge you a 60-minute massage for $55! Be aware though that all their price points are based on CASH payments only. Expect to pay a slight premium if you're using a credit card as your form of tender. The massage therapists are excellent. Worth every penny. They perform thorough work and use their hands and elbows to do more deeper tissue massages. Don't get scared if they climb on top of your massage bed! Massage rooms look a bit dingy, but again, if look and feel doesn't bother you, then you'll be fine coming here. Rooms are always clean. A couple of things to note - the place does lack customer service. Because the majority of the staff is of Chinese descent, I think the language barrier plays into their low quality customer service. Keep it strictly transactional. Their scheduling is very flexible though. Same day appointments are almost always possible. Also, I would recommend engaging in simple conversation with your massage therapist. They are willing to help, but would advise sticking to very simple language or point to the area of your body where you would like them to focus their attention on. I've been coming here for about 5 years now and up until now, I have been very satisfied every time. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get a very good massage for an extremely good price.

Really glad I did! It was a painful massage but in the best possible way. It was like getting a massage in China. It hurt but every thing the guy was doing was with intention. Some of the places in LA are just being lazy just patting you down giving you half their attention or one time they just tried to flatten me like pizza dough. I consider that a waste of time and money. My masseuse was really searching for every knot and tried with a hefty amount of strength to work through it. It was exactly what I needed but I can imagine some people just not being able to take it. Imagine a knot being found in your back and then just someone shoving their elbow in it and hearing loud popping. It was sooooo therapeutic and I'm still sore a few days later but feeling so loose and without any real tension. It's like a weight is lifted all my shoulders. Pretty sure you can ask for a lighter massage. I heard a guy next to me say 6 out of 10 so I'm sure lighter massages are available. Can't repeat this enough, I'm going back again!

However, it's under new management, so the prices are higher and they push too much for longer massages. The lady who massaged me was nice, but spent too much time on my back. Her English was not good, so it was frustrating to communicate with her. I asked for 30 minutes and before my massage was over, the owner opens the curtain. Mind you, I am face down and still nude under the sheets. My female masseuse walked away while the male owner was persistent in pushing for an hour. He told me $60 for an hour or to end my session now. I said, "You need to have your prices upfront because that's not what your masseuse told me. Also, you're pressuring me to make a choice now while I'm naked. This is very uncomfortable for me and super inappropriate." He semi laughed and started to come over to finish the massage and I said, "No, don't touch me." Then when I went to pay, I gave her $50 (I did 30 mins for $40. When I told her to give me change, she bluntly asked, "how much do you want to tip me?" That's unprofessional. You're supposed to give me my change and then wait for your tip. So after I tipped, he fanned it out (I gave a $5 and then $7 in singles) and started yelling and said "only $12?!". My shoulders are my problem areas and she apparently could not fathom that even after I pointed and gestured several times. I have never been as eager for the 60 minutes to be done. I was just going to ask her name after I was done so as to make sure she never massaged me again but here's the kicker. The "loyalty" card already had 3 stamps on it from my previous 3 visits. The woman who I can only assume is the owner.. Took the card and changed the date on the 3rd one without stamping it for the 4th time. I realized this as I was already upstairs and was gonna go back down. But then I realized eh what for, these places are dime a dozen all around the UWS. So yep, the card got littered and I will be heading elsewhere next time. I can understand a massage that wasn't to my satisfaction but to be dishonest in such a manner! Dumb dumb dumb. Because I would have come over another 6 times for sure as I literally live around the corner and am a lazy woman in general. So yeah, bad business move.

So I've been to this place before. Last time was wonderful. The massage was thorough and well done…read more I don't mind the lack of privacy (the massage tables are separated by sheets), I also don't mind the lack of professionalism (no paperwork or questionnaire, just walk in and jump on a table), those aren't the problems I have. I went here this past Friday with my friend, we started 15 minutes apart. Here are my issues... During my massage she answered her phone twice, and texted twice, (so I was getting one handed massaged at times). Then she left me to see who was walking in on two separate occasions. So that was 6 interruptions while my timer was still going. She pulled my underwear all the way off without asking, which I don't mind in a more private setting but these sheets have some gaps so that was mildly uncomfortable. She then offered to do me for 15 more minutes, because my friend was still getting his for 15 minutes. I thought to myself "Hey that's perfect because I was interrupted so many times." But when I was done and getting dressed, still hadn't had an entire minute to change, no shirt or shoes on yet, she the pulled the curtain open, huffed and puffed, gave me a nasty look and said, "I'm busy!" and started changing the table. So in other words, "Hurry up." So now I'm pissed because the whole situation was ridiculous, I go to pay, and she charged me an extra 20 minutes. I told her she offered the 15 minutes so I'm not getting charged. She refused to take it back and acted as if I was ridiculous for thinking otherwise. Then I tip her (generously) 20% on the original price I was supposed to pay. She then got mad at me and said "I worked hard for you!" I told her "You were on he phone and I was interrupted multiple times, then charged for a service I didn't ask for." She yelled at me, so I walked out. My friend was also given a hard time for his tipping amount and his experience was equally as frustrating. I loved this place before which is what kept me coming back. Now, I will never go again. Like I said the environment doesn't bother me (which is run down and trashy), but the lack of customer service is what is deterring me in the future.

I came here to give this place one last try. My reward? I got banned…read more My usual massage spots were booked, so I stopped in and asked for a 30-minute hot stone massage. The man at the front immediately tried to upsell me to a 1 hour and 45-minute massage. I politely declined. The massage I received was awful. The therapist clearly didn't know what she was doing--stones were slipping, falling, and at one point, she was just stacking them on my back, doing nothing. I eventually told her to forget the stones and just focus on my neck, which was the only part that felt remotely okay. After the session, I was told--for the first time--that there would be a $4 credit card fee. I asked if I could pay part cash, part card, but he pretended not to understand me. I ended up paying full price--$54 for a 30-minute massage I didn't really get. Still, I kept quiet about the quality to avoid embarrassing the therapist, and I left a $3 tip. That's when the man at the front yelled at me for not tipping more. He told me that in NYC, a 20% tip is required. I explained that I tipped based on the service I received, but he kept pushing, loudly, in front of other customers. When I said, "Excuse me, that's rude," and reminded him that tipping is at my discretion, he continued yelling and finally told me to never come back--then physically pushed me out of the store. What's wild is that this wasn't even my first bad experience here. During a previous visit, the same man interrupted my massage midway and tried to switch in as the therapist himself. I told him that made me uncomfortable, and I left that time feeling unsettled too. Between the horrible service, hidden fees, aggressive behavior, and the fact that I paid for a massage I didn't receive properly--this place is an absolute no. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
