I called to make an appointment, she didn't ask my name or anything and told me to come in at 1pm I show up at 12:55 for my appointment she then had a walk in 2 mins before that paid and she want me to reschedule because she didn't know how to refund his money. She didn't know how to give him a refund. (Again poor operations NO REFUNDS) She then claimed I didn't confirm my appt. I had just called at 11:45 telling I was available from 12-2, she said come at 1, I show up a few minutes early and she booked a walk-in. Very unprofessional, she didn't honor my appointment because she already accepted the walk-in credit card info. This is my second time coming here and although I thought this was a great little location, she's running by a thread. No organization mostly walkins opposed to appointments but if she has someone already you can't walk-in. It's very confusing and a horrible business model. Highly disappointed as I needed a massage after my recent work out. I would recommend a scheduling system or 5 min grace period for reserved clients or something This was HORRIBLE SERVICE and she just kept apologizing as if she couldn't honor the appt she had given me. If I could give 0 stars I would. This was the most unprofessional massage and business I have ever been to. The woman giving me the massage FARTED during it, moved my underwear around without consent or warning multiple times, and overall did a horrible job. When I went to leave I left a 12% tip because I was not at all happy with the service but still didn't want to not tip. the woman who gave me the massage checked me out and told me that my tip wasn't enough then proceeded to run my card for 4 dollars more than I had told her to. I was traveling back through Richmond and spent the day at zoo. Afterwards, I really needed a good massage and I remembered the last time I was in town, I loved the massage I received at Sunny. Much to my delight, Ana was still there and she gave me another wonderful deep tissue massage. She worked out all the knots in my back and neck( I didn't know I had so many). She also has added hot rocks to her repertoire and it was even more relaxing than before! In fact, I was so relaxed afterwards, I thought I was going to need her to help me off the table! Standard Richmond AMP but masseuses on staff are better trained than most. You can request a specific masseuse when you make your reservation. I have heard rumors about some AMP's but I haven't seen anything suspicious here and nothing shady has happened during a massage. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I have had many massages at local places around the Midlothian/Richmond area and this was by far the worst as far as the actual deep tissue massage as well as the customer service. I was forced to pay for my massage up front and tip up front. I think it is not necessary to tip until I have had the massage - this way I can tip a lot more money if it is a great massage. The lady who did my massage was named Ana and she was horrible. She basically lightly slid her hand pup and down my body for 60 minutes for a very very expensive price. Also before my massage I was demanded to give a $15 tip on top of paying for my 1 hour massage. Now this was ridiculous. I will never come back to this place unless I receive some type of money back or compensation. I highly recommend you go to Asian Sky Line Massage and not this place. read more

The availability of the masseuse was great but the massage was just ok. At the end the masseuse asked for a tip ( which I did not like) . I gave her a $20 to break for change so that I could give her the tip I felt that was warranted instead she took the amount that she wanted. When I stated that I did not want to give her $15 for a tip she than gave me back what she thought was negotiable of my money. Great to be able to walk in when it's after work hours, or on the weekend, and get a massage. I have neck/shoulder problems that cause lots of pain, so when I'm hurting, I need help pretty quickly. The only star reduction comes from having a hard time communicating with the masseuse- actually demonstrating pressure and specific target areas you need helps, though. read more

Just got back from a visit to Sunny Massage. I desperately needed a massage today and in addition to being conveniently located, I noticed they have consistently good reviews on Yelp. Walk ins are welcome so that's what I did. I was greeted by the owner/massage therapist. She was so friendly, warm, and welcoming! I instantly felt at ease. The spa itself is impeccably clean with a relaxing ambiance. Soft music playing is also a calming touch to the experience. I opted for a 90 minute full body massage and it was amazing! My therapist was able to work out all the knots and kinks---something that I haven't gotten from other massages. I was in pretty bad shape and literally feel like I'm in a new body. She checked in periodically about pressure and to make sure I was ok. She is very strong and the massage was a deep tissue type but definitely not painful. Just perfect and very effective. I fell asleep a few times! The addition of hot stones, hot towels and a lovely face and scalp massage were very nice touches that most places only offer at an up charge. Overall, an exceptional experience. Only complaint would be that there is a $5 fee for card payment and no sign or indication on the website. So, it was a surprise and I would have brought cash if I had known in advance. I will know for next time. Also, I used the $10 off for first time clients through Yelp check in, but the owners seemed not to be aware of the offer and hesitated to accept it. They did, though and were both eye friendly and kind. I will absolutely be back and strongly urge anyone in need of a great, affordable massage in a professional and relaxing spa to visit Sunny Massage as soon as possible!
