I can not recommend Escape Massage enough. It was great from when I first walked in and was greeted with a smile and very positive energy. As I waited for Elvin, who my appointment was with, the waiting area was very warm and inviting. I did see that other services were offered and the benefits that they would provide me. I was already planning my next visit and what I could get for my wife. When Elvin met me he had a very calming and soothing vibe that started my process of distressing. Before we started he asked me what was bothering me and this helped him with what the best way to remove the aches and pains I was having. When Elvin was done I was so relaxed and the pains I had were gone. I could not believe also that it was over. The time passed so fast, due to being so relaxed. I've had a membership to Escape Massage for 5+ years. At first I tried a few different massage therapists until I found one I like the most. I have been able to request her every time since. The location is clean and quiet. They have a nice transition room you can wait in separate from the main waiting area (not sure if it is just for members or not- nothing states it is). The transition room has a nice water fountain, low lights and warm towels. I pay the extra for the aromatherapy oil for use during the massage. One bottle will last a few massages, I just take it with me and bring it back the next time. My therapist always has a heating pad that she turns on if I am feeling cold and will also get me a second blanket when I ask. They let me book appointments months out, I have heard other massage places only allow 45 days out. This helps with getting the therapist I want. I haven't used the salt therapy room yet, I hear it is really good for people with allergies. What I've learned over the years - communication with your therapist is key- let them know where you are feeling pain or tightness and if the pressure is too hard/soft. - the aromatherapy oil is worth the extra cost - if you aren't the chatty type, let your therapist know. I like it quiet during my massage - my therapist isn't super chatty anyway but some are -book appointments in advance so you don't forget and/or you get the therapist you want. -you will find the right therapist for you- keep trying. read more

Very quiet establishment, in the Westchester Commons mall off of 288 and Midlothian Tkp. I had a Groupon for the Himalyen Salt Room Treatment. It's normally a $45 hour session but got it for $20. The staff were very nice and helpful. The salt room was low lighting and very calming. There were recliner type lounge beach chairs and mounds of Himalyen salt on the floor. Very relaxing and stress-free environment. The music was gentle and calming and the airflow of the salt seeping through the blower vents was relaxing. I was able to breathe alot better when I left. This treatment helped m congestion and sinusitis isses I had been battling for a month. Will go back for another treatment! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I had a membership here and they kept charging my credit card throughout the pandemic, while they were CLOSED. When I asked the owner to either refund the monthly charges or stop the membership, they refused. Luckily, my credit card company reversed the charges due to them agreeing that this was unethical practice. So, DO NOT GO HERE! read more

We went last night. I had been to a salt room in Abingdon Va and really loved it. This one was not up to the standard of the other one. It was a smaller room with 5 chairs, one that did not tilt back. The noisy fan was too loud and I could not hear the nice relaxing music that the other one had. As soon as the fan would start to die down, here came another big whoosh! Not so relaxing for me. The other place offered eye masks and was more lowly lit. They gave you a block of Himalayan sea salt to put on a pain or ache and a bean bag like thing you could put in the small of your back or on your neck. This place did not. I was disappointed and the girl who took us in was very cut and dried, not too friendly or enthusiastic. I think this could be a lot nicer with a few tweaks. One more thing - I thought that the room was rather small. read more

I have seen this place around, then saw a Groupon for a 60 minute session which was a great deal! Since my normal massage therapist just had a baby, I went for it. Pros- The interior had a nice, relaxing feel. Front desk staff was very bright, bathrooms were clean and in order. My therapist was young, but knew the basics of massage. Cons- The individual massage rooms were very small and very sparse. It seemed like someone had taken everything off the walls, no décor. Just a mirror and hooks for my things. The table was nice, but the sheets were very thin and not very comfortable. The AC was pumping SO hard, I was cold the entire time. I'm shocked the therapists don't use a warming massage oil! She used unscented body lotion, which felt nice right after she pumped it on, but once my skin had absorbed it, there was way too much friction and it actually hurt. As I said before, my therapist was young, maybe 22? I asked for a lot of pressure, but this was the worst massage I've ever had. She provided the right amount of pressure, but it felt like she was digging her elbows into me, HARD. I have bruises this morning on my neck and shoulders which I have NEVER experienced in my history of getting massages. The cherry on top that made me decide to not come back was this: During my massage, the therapist said I was really tense. I agree 100%. She then said "You should get a membership, they aren't too expensive and I think you'll really benefit." I totally understand trying to sell memberships, but not while I'm getting my massage!!!! That was the biggest turnoff for me, and at that point, I just wanted it to be over. I really wanted to like this place, but the combo of a hard sell while I'm on the table, and the bruises on my back will for sure keep me from coming back. read more

I had an excellent experience here! My husband bought me a groupon for our anniversary. I was in desperate need of a massage (we just had a baby a few months ago and I just started a new job, so I'm just a wee bit stressed!) The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff is very friendly and keep you at ease. My therapist was wonderful and I wish I could remember her name. I was treated to a first rate massage. We came for the salt room and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. We were led to the room where we were told we could take our shoes off and put them in the bin with our purses. The salt on the floor was as course as rocksalt and was not easy to walk on. We sat back in the chairs and started to relax, when a huge fan started, sounded like a jet engine and proceeded to blow salt air into the room. By the time we were finished we were covered in salt from head to toe. It looked as though we had been rolling around in power. I had to ask the girl when we left if we could have a rag to wipe off. I was looking for a place to get my wife a massage , and after being in West Chester multiple times and passing by , I figured I would swing in and try them out, despite some of the mediocre reviews. Had a groupon for a 60 minute massage- received 40 minutes. The receptionist (Angie) at the front desk was very rude when she informed me that the therapist I had booked with was unavailable. The therapist I had was very good, but only gave a 40 minute massage. I asked about the shortage on the way out and was given a BS reason about scheduling as i was 10 minutes late. There were no other clients waiting, so the excuse was not valid- and what about the other 10 minutes? Did not receive a call reminding me of the appointment to the therapist change. This is where I had my first massage ever, i have nothing to compare too so I'm not sure what to say about that. I was 100% pleased considering my husband spent 80$ for it. I was told by friends it's very relaxing and they don't talk to you but the gentleman I had talked the entire time, I couldn't even relax. Not a good massage. When I walked in, one of the front desk girls being on her cell phone was the first sign. Not relaxing and the entire time I was just waiting for it to be over. Didn't seem like she knew what she was doing at all. I like deep massage but this was painful. Have $60 left on a gift card but I don't think I'll even be going back to use that. I was a walk in appointment. I simply asked for a arm ,neck and back massage. Instead the gentleman was just rubbing oil and roughly jabbing his elbow into my back. He did not massage arms or neck. Instead he just continued to graze my back with oil or shove his elbow into my back. It was not relaxing at all and I am in more pain that I was before I came in. The entire time that I was supposed be getting my massage I was just getting more aggravated and more in pain. I finally had enough and asked him if he would please stop. I wish that I would've asked sooner for him to stop the so-called massage because it was torturous. I left with 20 minutes left of my 60 minute session. I did however pay my full price for the hour. Nobody seemed to care that I was not satisfied with the very poor service that I was given. I think that if a client makes you stop because it is that unenjoyable it should be a red flag that something is wrong. I will not be going back to escape massage. Worst massage ever! read more
