I went there for an hour massage, but it included a brief hand and foot reflexology session that was OUT OF THIS WORLD! My masseur was Song. It's at Chesterfield Town Center so it's not the quietest of settings, but there are no parking problems and it's easy to get to from just about anywhere. Go, and ask for Song. He's the BOMB.

It's around the corner, similar price points and they honor they're callers No receptionist, if she's giving a massage no one is at the front While the massage may be good the overall operation is poorly managed. I called to make an appointment, she didn't ask my name or anything and told me to come in at 1pm I show up at 12:55 for my appointment she then had a walk in 2 mins before that paid and she want me to reschedule because she didn't know how to refund his money. She didn't know how to give him a refund. (Again poor operations NO REFUNDS) She then claimed I didn't confirm my appt. I had just called at 11:45 telling I was available from 12-2, she said come at 1, I show up a few minutes early and she booked a walk-in. Very unprofessional, she didn't honor my appointment because she already accepted the walk-in credit card info. This is my second time coming here and although I thought this was a great little location, she's running by a thread. No organization mostly walkins opposed to appointments but if she has someone already you can't walk-in. It's very confusing and a horrible business model. Highly disappointed as I needed a massage after my recent work out. I would recommend a scheduling system or 5 min grace period for reserved clients or something This was HORRIBLE SERVICE and she just kept apologizing as if she couldn't honor the appt she had given me. I will never return or recommend business here. I'm sure I can find another location thats a little more professional. Horrific

Even though my main problem was in my neck, I left RVA Massage feeling less tense all over. I will CERTAINLY be back to see Stephanie!!!

I was a little hesitate and did not know what to expect because I have never heard of the business prior to receiving the gift certificate. I am not hesitant now. I am very impressed! My massage therapist was Ebony. She is friendly and truly understands the art of massage. Prior to the massage she did the body scrub. Then I left the massage room to shower off the scrub prior to massage. My skin has never felt so soft. It felt like butter. I am very tight in my neck and shoulders because I work at a computer all day and Ebony knew that without me telling her. She applied strong pressure and was able to quickly adjust pressure based upon how my body tensed if it was too much. I was sore after receiving the service and the next day. I am okay with that. The tension in my muscles felt released. I will be returning for monthly massage work.

Where to start, I was referred to Ivan a few weeks post op surgery after a tummy tuck and arm lipo…read morefor lymphatic drainage and to help reduce swelling. I waited longer than I should have (1. from the lack of research on my part and 2. was not told post-op that massages were recommended to help the healing process). I started developing adhesions in my arm and a swollen chest, to the point the nurse I saw on my second post op visit said I NEED to go see Ivan right away. That he had used him for his own surgery recovery and he worked wonders! From the first visit at Ortiz Massage, I struggled to even get on the table and was not able to lay flat on my back. Ivan was able to help release so much tension and stiffness that I could finally put my legs down and lay fully flat just after one session. He really listens to his clients, educates them, and demonstrates empathy while offering the most professional care from a health care provider. I couldn't have been in better hands during my recovery process. Ivan slowly worked with me at my pace, to work out the adhesions in my arms. I had never heard of lymphatic massages prior to this surgery, but now see how vital it can be for even the healthiest athlete with muscle recovery. It's been almost a year now and I still go to Ivan, for lymphatic massages and some regular deep tissue massages to help with weightlifting recovery. What makes Ortiz Massage so unique, is that Ivan puts his customers first. He offers super affordable rates and packages because he wants to make sure his clients are able to get the care they need, and offers flexible working hours. He works with you to space out your sessions and adjusts to how you are feeling week by week. He reevaluates you at each visit to see what you would like to focus on before each treatment. He is highly knowledgeable when it comes to explaining the science, anatomy, and advice on what will help speed up your recovery. Since starting my sessions with Ivan, the surgeon has started offering pre-op and post-op sessions with Ivan after seeing how crucial lymphatic drainage is in the surgery journey. I had no idea what a journey this entire process would be prior to going into surgery. Recovery after a tummy tuck was the hardest thing I've ever had to endure physically (yes, even worse than labor). I honestly would have NO idea where I would be without the help of Ivan, and am forever indebted for his services. I am extremely grateful for crossing paths with such a kind caring provider and overall, a good human being.
