It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.

First, and foremost, the staff was so kind, patient, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. I don't think I've had anyone help me in-store EVER as this lady did. She was a great problem-solver (I love dried mango flavor in things, but am a TOTAL zero flames so even if chili is the last ingredient, it's too spicy for me. OPE.). My curry-making problem is now solved. THANK YOU! Second, this small store is like a TARDIS or Mary Poppins' bag. Each aisle is packed to the brim with treasures. There is a LONG wall of freezer things that looked enticing - our daughter got a box of 22 (!!) frozen samosas, which she loves.
