The "Dentist" refused for me to provide my own anxiety medication which I usually take most days and told me I would be charged for Sedation anyway. My level of Anxiety for going to the Dentist is through the roof so I trusted that I would be taken care of which, is further from the truth. I had a mask with gas Sedation and when I started feeling like I couldn't breath I started letting my air out through my mouth with INTENSE Anxiety. The dr was "extremely" insensitive and actually told me that I couldn't be "worked" with if I didn't stop and when I couldn't, my mouth was shut by Dr's HAND. YES, HAND! I would NOT recommend this Dentist. I have 2 cleanings covered a year with my insurance, confirmed for a third time after my arrival and almost 5 MONTHS LATER, I received an almost $200 charge on my cc on file saying that my cleaning was not covered. No warning, nothing. When in fact, my previous dentist from another state made a clerical error, my insurance paid them for my services and only returned HALF OF MY MONEY. They were NOT nice at all and handled everything extremely unprofessional when I did nothing but get a basic cleaning that was covered under my insurance. after finding a dentist far better than the ones here - i think anyone going here should get a second opinion. I've had a couple things done here - all not done properly, half ass jobs, that I'm currently having to get fixed. For starters - after discussing a plan to get all four wisdom teeth removed - they removed only 3 and failed to tell me so, only to find out a few months later when the my same doctor told me Id need to remove that one as well. I also had a root canal done - which when making the mold, we had to re do it several times because the assistants would not understand that my jaw is not completely straight - resulting in a mold that doesn't fit my mouth properly. if I mentioned any pain I had - It was dismissed until the pain was much worse. They have no interest in stopping the issues before they get worse, they wait for it to get bad - just to still not fix it properly. if you ask them for any information on what they recommend, they will give you none. They also violate HIPAA Law and refuse to release any medical documents to you. This company is by far the worst dentist in Austin. read more

6 stars if I could!! My 2 front teeth were knocked out over 20 years ago and I had bonding done through my childhood dentist which only required a few additional appointments to fix minor chips. In 2020, one tooth broke again and I was referred to Sunny Days Dental. This was a very stressful time in my life (pandemic, job, family, mental state) and going to the DENTIST was not something I was looking forward to. I decided to get veneers since I never felt confident in my temporary bonding and Dr. Shah and her team enabled me to feel comfortable making an educated decision to fully invest in my smile. I'm so glad I did. Emily at the front desk is an absolute rock star with all the scheduling/payments/follow-ups, Angela assists throughout the entire process with GREAT care, and Dr. Shah is 100% committed to doing excellent work. She's efficient, she's brilliant, she's trustworthy. She EXCEEDS all expectations!!! For the first time in my life, I am empowered to practice good oral hygiene and I am EXCITED to go to the dentist (I know, right?!). A medium sized office with great staff and clean environment. There is a modest parking lot and more street side parking in area. The dental staff provided compassionate care, explained the procedures prior to starting, explained costs as well, and spent time listening to my needs. Pamphlets in the lobby indicate they also provide plans that help lower income person to access dental care and that made all the difference. The worst dental experiences I've had. I changed to this dentist about a year ago and gave them a couple of chances yet each time the doctor was uninformative, uncommunicative, and quite honestly rude. She offers no communication and barely takes the time to check on a patient. They've even scheduled me for times they were closed and never gotten back to me when I reached out. Additionally, I asked about anesthesia while getting my wisdom teeth removed (after being ignored and pushed off by their office for months) and they gave me no clear answer about what they were going to do for my procedure. Instead, they continued on without any further explanation, doing the procedure while I was fully awake and aware. Their office claims to give a friendly, calming experience and the multiple times I've went has been the exact opposite from that. The other staff are relatively friendly but Dr. Shah and this office in general has repeatedly given me a negative experience. read more

Really wanted to like this place. A friend went to school with the dentist, Dr. Shah, and said she seemed smart. A year ago I had some work done here and it never was a great experience. The front desk girl, who oddly enough has a title of Patient Concierge, never made me feel comfortable. Her demeanor is unfriendly and pretty dry. Actually, none of the staff was very warm or inviting. I wish I could say Dr. Shah had great bedside manner but I never got that from her either. Aside from this, there were always unknown charges on my bill and just today I went in for a basic cleaning and they tried to charge me $150. Meanwhile other dentists charge $0 for this cleaning as it's covered by insurance. Yet another situation where I felt misled. Dental work, for most, is a nerve-racking and anxious thing. Bedside manner and transparency are very important to those people and I happen to be one of them. read more

I've had several very poor experiences with Dr Pamee Shaw at Sunny Days Dental. I've had 3 crowns in the past 9 months from her. - While working on one tooth, she accidentally broke an adjacent crown which then had to be replaced immediately. And she insisted that I had to pay for it. She said it needed to be replaced anyway. Well maybe it did but that did not give her permission to accidentally break it. - While drilling on a tooth it became apparent that the nerve was not sufficiently numbed, so she injected additional novocaine 2 or 3 times and went immediately back to drilling, yet the tooth/nerve still remained sensitive to me when she drilled on it. Afterward I asked why she had so much trouble deadening the tooth and she said well you have to give the novocaine time to act. I was appalled - why didn't she give it time before drilling again? And again? In hindsight I knew this, but I assumed that she knew what she was doing so I didn't question it. - The last time she was drilling on a tooth and she accidentally poked my cheek with the drill. I could literally feel the flesh being pulled out of my cheek. When I looked at it there was just a tiny hole in my cheek, not very deep. But it did bleed and it was painful for a few days. That was the last straw. Never again. - Now I just found out that, over the past 9 months I have been paying additional fees that my insurance eventually reimbursed for... to the tune of $800. Sunny Days is now refunding me the $800 but I was out the $800 for several months. So be aware that they appear to make a practice of billing the customer then reimbursing if/when insurance covers it. Since she seems to be in business I'm sure that she is normally a good dentist. But I post this with all sincerity and honesty. I have not had a good experience with Dr Shah. read more

First off, I am TERRIFIED of going to the dentist. I found out I needed to get a cavity filled when I was home in PA over the holidays and totally panicked because the dentist who I grew up with (who I never liked) couldn't fit me in for a filling before I had to come back to Austin. I did a lot of research before picking Dr. Shah and I am really really glad I made the decision to go to Sunny Days Dental. Dr. Shah and the other two girls who worked in the office were super nice. When I made my appointment I told them how scared I was of the dentist and they were very sympathetic and even asked if I had a favorite band I would like them to play while I was getting my cavity filled. In addition, the office is only a year old so everything is super new clean. Dr. Shah talked me through the whole procedure and it was by far the best experience I've had at a dentist. I didn't even have ANY pain or soreness after getting my filling and still don't after 24 hrs.
