I have had car loans, personal loans, business loans, savings accounts, and checking accounts at Mohawk Progressive. They have great rates and no fee checking accounts as well as online banking. MPFCU is a small credit union where the member really does come first. They may not have all the latest techno services of the larger banks but they got it where it counts- and that's customer service. I remember a couple years ago my iTunes account was hacked and the thief started making several hundred dollar purchases over and over again to his fake account on iTunes that ended up totaling over $3000 dollars. Carole called me and alerted me to the activity and put a stop payment on my account before calling me. She knows me well enough to know I didn't make those purchases. That isn't the only time MPFCU has saved my skin. They have also called me to alert me a payment was clearing when I had insufficient funds in my account (Hey it happens to the beat of us) just so I could add money in time to avoid any fees or penalties. Carole and her member service reps will do the same for you. I will continue banking there for as long as I am around and you should too!

That being said, I tried to utilize their bill pay system. Over the course of 3 months I have had to place stop orders on 5 checks. I have put the "deliver by" date 2 weeks in advance of the actual due date to allow for a cushion but still, am forced to cancel checks every month at $10 each. Their customer support is useless too. They state that they mailed a check on a particular date and that they cannot provide any further information. I recently tried to test it out by sending a check to my father. It was to be delivered by 12/3. It is now the 9th and still nothing has been received.

I feel I waited in inordinate amount of time between signing in and acknowledgement! That Is my perception! I waited for the customer service agents for 5 minutes without acknowledgement. No greeting or eye contact. Both are in one cubicle (and despite the hair twirling and giggling, I am told that it was a business meeting - at the expense of a customer waiting?) I decided to work with the teller first to conclude any business there - while I wait. HE is the only reason this branch got the two stars! He was courteous and helpful. He closed the savings portion of my bank account (intended before I went in) and emailed the customer service agents to alert them of further needs. By then one agent was busy, so I returned to the chairs. After seven minutes, the unoccupied agent came out to help me - she knew what I needed, so I know she got the teller's email! After I concluded business I pointed out that I felt I had waited an inappropriate amount of time before acknowledgement (I was the only customer in the chairs waiting for customer service and I stood so she could see me!). She reported that she and the other agent were in a business meeting and that working through the teller was the correct way to do business. What if I only needed customer service - would I still be out there? Never had to do that before! Counter intuitive to other banking experiences. Why sign in? I told her how I felt, and I was summarily dismissed. What a shame! Never asked why I was closing the account - doesn't matter, I suppose. Teller was wonderful, but use this branch only for them! Go to another branch for "customer" service.... Just my perception!

The staff is super friendly and it's good to see the same faces on the teller line in an industry with a high turnover. I used the ATM and I feel that it is a little inconvenient to use it from the car compared to other ATMs due to the posts protecting the ATM. My rating is for the staff at the branch for providing outstanding service.
